Ive just finished another anime series this is easily in my top 3 worst feelings ever felt almost like a part of me dies each time a series ends

this time it was A certain magical index and i watched both seasons 1 and 2 so now im done with the anime series.

yes i even watched a certain sciencifitic railgun i cant wait until railgun s comes out :)

but no matter what how good or bad the series i always hate watching the last episode since it is the end of that animated world for me!
there are no more side stories, more information or more plot for me to follow that mini world or dream world ive pretty much "lived in" until now is gone

Anime is my life sometimes it is all i think about and this feeling gets worse each series i finish if i ever finished every series of anime ever id go jump off a cliff, life would be horrible if there was no more animated worlds to visit or "live in"

...I think you need to let go of this feeling or might hurt yourself later in the future.

Just this once, I'll fulfill whatever your wish is.

Hmm. I looked at your list and you have a lot of those several hundred episode animes. I'm not saying they're bad at anything but they don't give you "the feels". Those 12-50 episode animes really get to you sometimes. I guess you just experience one of dem feels for the first time.... I get these too a lot so I know how you feel. We just have to move on bro. And I wish that I could live in an anime world but alas...we have to come back to Earth.

i feel the same way whenever i finish a series. it's depressing to finish a series because it's just over. there's nothing left, but the only thing you can do is move on.

im pretty sure that as long as someone keeps making anime i wouldnt be looking for a cliff lol im overly dramatic

i just get that empty sad feeling everytime i finish a series

yes even on the larger series when i finished dbz i seriously stopped playing sports for a season it was like i lost the want to become a saiyan so i gave up on trying

all im saying is i like my comfy animated worlds and i was wondering if anyone esle gets that feeling when their animes come to an end

its like losing your passion in the world each time

if your sad that it ends than start with a really long series like One piece or Gintama they will keep you busy ;) but you gotta face the facts when something starts it's bound to end at some point and when that time comes just be ready for it. the world of anime has no limits because there is always something new so just keep on enjoying and keep those precious memories that you made XD

You can feel better with fanfiction and fanart to enjoy! And doujins if you can find them.

I often get that horrible feeling the anime I liked won't sell BDs and will not get a second or third season as a result although some get the sequel anyway because of merchandise even though they didn't sell BDs, but not all series have that luxury.

I always feel relief, unless it's something I really love. A lot of times I feel like I'm only watching something because I put it on my watching list, and that it's more of an obligation than anything.
And as for immersing yourself in new worlds, there's always books. You'll never run out of those.

I say you have the wrong mindset when watching anime. It's natural to want more but the best thing you can do is pick up another anime right away to keep your mind off it.

Nah, then it would be high time to create your new life and enjoy it. It's only after you've finished every series, that you're free to do anything.

Don't kill yourself, bro. The world loves you!

On a serious note, I think that's some unhealthy attachment you've got there. I'd understand if it was only some stuff you loved that left you off with that feeling, but you said it doesn't matter if it's good or bad. Anyways, I think you need to see a councilor.
I'm also filled with pure-hearted ulterior motives.

In many cases, when the anime is based off a manga (which is nearly all of the time), the series may end but the story goes on in print. There may be many volumes that follow, alternative storylines, spin-offs or what have you. You could get wrapped up for months or years with what can follow the anime series in the manga. I've done this with numerous series. Of course you could wind up going from a great anime to a real dog of a manga. If that is ever the case for you in the future, my sincerest apologies and please see my disclaimer.

I only get that feeling if I REALLY liked the series or if I'm in the last few episodes and something important hasn't been resolved and I get scared that something bad is going to happen and it's not going to end the way I wanted it to.

Though I've never wanted to jump off a cliff....
