4464 (nextday): We have not specified a guideline on what version of the title would be considered canon. Dismissing my decision as irrelevant is uncalled for. It was not a denial of your request. At the time of my writing, no other sources had picked up on the full name, thus I needed time to observe the trend of its usage. Since then, AniDB and ANN have started using the title with "The Animation", thus I am happy to make the change. Remember that this is the same entry whose title was once Choujigen Game Neptune before being changed to Kami Jigen Game Neptune V and then eventually changed back to the first version when the latest news was released. We are not here on a race to see who can report updates the fastest, which will only confuse users with too many changes back and forth. We are not inherently a news website. Our objective is to ensure that the database has longevity for the future through correction of entries which provide incorrect information.
4465 (rctgamer3): Done.
4466 (ap19): They will all be approved in due time. We evaluate all entries in the queue thoroughly, so there is no need for worry that something exists will be denied. Thank you for your patience.
4467 (nextday): I have already discussed the matter of Uchuu Kyoudai's episode count with another moderator recently, and we decided not to implement its episode count yet because English language websites of animation studios have not built up enough reliability in its information yet. It might eventually be correct, and we will continue to keep an eye on other sources that cite the same. As for Persona 3, we have a naming scheme in place for serial movies, but without further information on the continuing movies, I will also hold on to this request at this time.
4468 (QueenCythia): Please direct your request to the Manga DB equivalent of this thread.
4469 (tsubasalover): Done.
4470 (Yasushinu): What am I fixing here? It is already listed as two episodes.
4471 (belatkuro): Updated airing status. And to answer your question, all titles will eventually be converted to Japanese romaji once we have the mechanism in place for users to select the method of display. In some cases, entries still currently appear in English because of one of the following reasons:
1. The work was submitted to the database prior to the establishment of current standards.
2. The work is part of a larger franchise, which means a substantial amount of work needs to be done in order to convert all the entries in the database to romaji titles.
3. A previous work of similarity exists in the database which has not been converted to its romaji title, thus in the interest of consistency we temporarily forgo the new standards until a time when the group of works come to our attention again.
Other special cases may also exist. In the case of Jojo, it is likely that number three was the reasoning. |
