Since I didn't read manga I don't care about which chapters it will take or arcs
but:
it's good news that there will be another season :) hopefully with less of Hinagiku and more of Ayumu (her development in second season was good) which leads us to....
it's bad that that it isn't made by J.C.Staff they made good job with S2

still looking forward to it, but not as priority :3

I'm not sure how happy I should be, Hayate no Gotoku is my favourite show so I'm really happy season 3 is coming but the main reason I was excited for the new season is because of the whole Athena story.
If they're going to just ignore that entire story and make up a new story like they did with second half of season 1 I'm going to be really disappointed.
And really, Manglobe? J.C. Staff was better and the characters actually looked like they did in the manga, but in the movie all the characters just looked weird.

I'm still happy the new season is coming out, but I think they should continue following the manga from where season 2 ended instead of making a new story.

I repeat: we are assuming too much with too few information. It's hard to tell what will happen at this point.
I still think we might be making a big deal out of nothing!

Let's be realistic now. We are assuming things with too few information.
As a friend of mine said, japanese can easily be misunderstood if we don't know the right context of the words.

A little briefing:

Sounds plausible. I really hope this is actually the case.

Same opinion here. Although if you would look closer at latest chapters, you would see that Hata draws almost the same with Manglobe's character design now...(or did Manglobe staff helped him?)

If they didn't improve their artwork to JCStaff-levels, plus ditching Norio Wakamoto as the narrator, I wish Manglobe should do a reboot instead of making a third season... Their movie is terrible!

Do they even exist anymore? I haven't heard about them doing anything in a couple years. JC Staff was probably the best case scenario here (feels weird to say that).

-edit- Checking their stuff, it looks like they just do long running kid shows like Beyblade now. Seeing as how this is now a late night show, they were probably out of the running

That was one of my first anime. Loved the first season, but I didn't like the second because I actually preferred the fillers. Happy it's still going ^_^

JC Staff may still be able to make the odd good show (Kaichou wa Maid-sama is probably the most recent one) but the vast majority of their output is utter shit. And considering what Manglobe did with the second season of The World God Only Knows, I think they still pretty much are the ideal studio for Hayate S3. I even thought the art in the movie was pretty good.

Well, movie had the crappy animation and that was animated by Manglobe.I mean like well look at hayates hear and it looks disproportionately to his head, horrible i guess and i feel worried about this right now(I think they should take j.c staff animation style and make things with it)Also, what´s with this completely new stuff, well whatever but they should keep a-tan part because it´s very important thing and fang will be angry if it´s not gonna be there

More awesome news :D

Can't wait for the 3rd season :)

Thinking of when it's going to be released- if it's in Fall- this would be the best anime season in quite a long time.

I wonder if Athena is going to be shown in this season.

New story or a reorganization of the current story are irrelevant....will they show Athena in this season or not!? Manglobe, we know you hate money but it cant be THAT bad can it?

Well... Actually the 2nd season was the return to the manga plot.

The second half of the 1st season was anime-original, but it went too far and it couldn't fit into the original story, so they had to ignore it when JC Staff started to work on s2.

The actual sequence would be: Season one (up to episode 25) then go straight into season 2.

And I'm actually starting to wonder if they are simply trying to push the "Athena arc" into an eventual season 4 and turn season 3 into a filler (what could also explain the need of a "newly written" story - using a few key elements of the manga and adding new stuff in there...)

Heck... I need to stop creating theories for this... We just have to wait for more info.
But I must admit I'm very nervous about it.

I think if they did it right they could have worked the 2nd season as a sequel to the last episode of the 1st season seeing how a lot of those episodes episodes have similarities to those in the first season like the train riding episode.A anime adaption doesn't have to be a 100% based on the manga.

One of the main problems is that the first season took place over the course of more than an entire year. Even with 368 chapters now, the Hayate manga has only gone through around 7 months. A lot happened in the first season that would be super inconsistent as Hayate missed Hinagiku's 16th birthday (the last Hinagiku episode was right before her 17th birthday) and it would just be a mess as the Hayate series has always moved super slowly (which I love).

Does that mean we'll finally know what happened to Himegami? he was filler, right?

Anway, kinda disappointed JC Staff isn't the studio, but then again, they've been screwing up quite a lot as of lately. I just hope the animations (mainly character designs) won't be as aweful as they were in the movie. If there's something the anime did better than the manga it's the art.

That's probably one of the most random images I've ever seen. Seriously... in a desert? "Looking for her butler"?

I really hope that's just a fanservice shot and not a REAL preview of what will happen in the anime...

sigh... Maybe it could be fun in the end...

If anything these are good news. They know this is not the third season we wanted, but we'll have to deal with it for now.

As long as eventually they continue where the second season left, then fine by me.

Well if this isn't season 3, then we just have to hope that they make season 3 after this...
I really hope they won't do a timeskip like with the movie, they shouldn't show Athena or Ruka until they've done their introductions from the manga, especially Athena since her arc is the best arc of all time.
But if that picture is a preview, it could be funny if they end up in a desert ^^
