Yep, I have pretty much same thoughts. I actually held decent expectations that this adaption might actually succeed with the fact that Maruto is on the team and this first episode didn't betray them, in fact it might have even slightly surpassed them seeing how solid it was. Initially I was a bit worried with the pacing as IC isn't that long so making it 13 episodes series might be too much and with bad execution it will probably feel like being dragged out, but so far those are proven to be needless worries. While the pacing on the first episode is really slow, the writing(while not completely 1:1 with the VN, it was still consistent as far as characterization goes) and mood managed to suck me in and the episode was over before I knew it. If they can keep this up in future episodes I would be more than happy. And of course most importantly, I think they nailed the last scene pretty well. In fact I'm already a good way on the double digits at how many times I have re-watched it w. Good start and I'm looking forward to how the next episodes fare.

Since you are one of the few I know who has played WA2, I thought I'd ask. How did you like the first episode of the anime?

I finished Cuties, what a troll. A-tan <3, Maria <3, Hinagiku <3. Not enough Ruka (and Fumi).
The anime feels like it's shipping Hina a lot.

These kinds of manga aren't really what I would pick up easily or quickly.

Also forgot...Hataruku Maou-sama is still so good even though I know what's going to happen (manga).

lol You keep ignoring 'SMUT'. I'll check it out. I don't mind dodgy stuff, just that it needs to be used properly, otherwise it's trashy. As I said I welcome and appreciate all recommendations; SubaHibi was one of those things I wanted to read because of how messed up everything is. SubaHibi has the art behind it too KeroQ or something.

The illustrations weren't what I would call attractive therefore I immediate think that the appeal lies elsewhere - and because of the nature of the cover I assumed that it would be full of 'dodgy' stuff, the smutty crap I don't really like. I will check it out, but it's taken of Batoto for being too suggestive or something I don't know...sigh.

Most definitely check it out. I got her older indie stuff too, love Binaria (her and Annabel).

Yeah I heard of Sundome, never picked it up because the cover looks smutty... I do judge books by their cover. I might try to pick up but from the Recommendations, I will probably drop it... I can't even fathom how you would think it was one of those mindless manga. Mindless manga usually has 'moe' (hate the word) or good looking art (from a male perspective) and predominated by ecchi (ie TLR or Nisekoi).
Anyway I am looking for an intellectually stimulating read so I'll check it out, if you have any other recommendations I welcome them. And thanks for this recommendation.

On an unrelated note, are you a fan of Yanagi Nagi? Whether you are or not have you heard her collab with Maeda Jun, Owari no Hoshi no Love Song? I got it a while ago but it was only recently that I checked out the lyrics - all I can say is 'Amazing'. Jun Maeda works his magic again.

DAFUQ The Yahari manga got through the stupid Chuunibyou arc in one chapter, which when compared to other arcs which take like three chapters minimum, is nothing. The stupid anime wasted an entire episode on it, come on...WTF
