Gil is probaly the exception since I dont really rememeber other "charming" villains like him at the moment. | Excellent episode. Kirei has consistently been one of the most fascinating characters in a cast absolutely filled to the brim with fascinating characters and his killing Iri in one of the more brutal fashions fits his character arc until now and of course so does his new found desire to destroy Kiritsugu's ideal. Also, it's great to see that the writing is sticking very closely to Saber describing to Shirou in Fate/stay that she had only talked to Kiritsugu when he used command spells. I was worried that that was going to be broken during the short scene between them (btw, I love how the director used the literal distance as a way of conveying the "distance" between the two of them). Considering the nature of the Holy Grail, it was beyond creepy seeing the smile Irisviel had at the end. I wonder if it's effect is lost on those who have no prior knowledge of the franchise? |

I can't help but smile when he also put his big smiled. :D On the other hand, Kirei killing Irisviel is rage-inducing. I was clenching my fist when I saw that. And that ending. I sense something dark with Irisviel aside from being a homunculus. |
| This episode had me in tears. It has been heavy on an emotional level since the beginning, but when Rider replied to Waver "Because you are my friend" and put on that big shining smile of his I just couldn't help it. Amazing episode, and not only that, it is the setup for the big event that is to follow. |
