Ballet opera... oh my god. Incredible high production value, plot turned dumb, shitty ending, left me with nothing. How can anyone really like this ending?
More like how can anyone like this show. It has been a while since I have given anything under a 5. This just managed to do it. Only thing saving it from a 1-2 is the music/animation.
The first half of guilty crown was really good and the best ive seen in a while... After mana and gai died the first time the show started to fall. You can't give it a low score if you look the the anime as a whole (all 22 episodes)

I will admit that the first half was better but it was still bad. Honestly, I am being pretty generous with a 4/10. The characters and story are just so bad. The 2nd half was the worst thing I have seen in a while, and that is without the ending. The ending just makes it more of a joke.

I was avoiding this series since day 1 simply because I thought I was gonna be on a similar ride to Sacred Seven or Star Driver. I read some mix reviews, that it looked like Code Geass, some hate, etc., but after hearing a couple of tracks from the OST I decided on monday to give it a try, and let me say I wasn't disappointed but also wasn't shocked... It had an outstanding BGM, the art and animation where great. The fighting and action scenes where very good and engaging. I must say it was a pleasant ride, it had its ups and downs but in the end it was an enjoyable and good anime to watch despite having a very fast paced story-line that limited the series from what could have been more.

I didn't find the ending sad at all. Pretty weak last episode.

The show did keep me entertained though so I guess it was worth the watch.

I loved the scene when Shu took the red string from Inori.
And THEY PLAYED THE BOOM BOOM SATELLITES REMIX. JAKLFFF. Such an amazing song.
And the part were Daryl got saved had to be one of my favorites.
And I loved how they celebrated Hare's birthday in the epilogue.
I thought it was really sweet.
Overall, this anime was really a trainwreck.
But it was an entertaining trainwreck. However, I think that it may have been better if things weren't so BADLY PACED. AND BADLY WRITTEN. I think that the ending may have been better if this show was 2-3 episodes longer.
And Dargumi ship just sank.
OTP.
Just. Sank.
Oh well. I wouldn't mind a second season, but only if they improve from the mistakes made in the first.
It was a fun, mind-fucked, entertaining ride nonetheless.

If they would of celebrated Daryl's birthday I would of gave this anime a higher score. I WANT DARYL YAN CLOSURE!!!

TBH, I wish he was never made into a significant character, because this had led all of the scenes shown with his "moments" nearly pointless

I would have given this a 9/10 if they had killed Shu. It gets a 7/10. I don't know why they would want to keep him alive when it built up all the emotion behind his "death". Someone here said they're trying to give a message about love after death, but it clearly is way too rushed to even give two sh*ts. The ending flashbacks should have been replaced with a Shu moment on the bench crying to himself or something.

Favorite part: Daryl being saved

Uh no. I was like "oh really?" at the scene. I think the scene was meant to be a joke. *rolleyes*

I don't know... maybe a lot of us are too cynical and old to feel moved by this half-assed series. I don't think any effort was even made to make this series other than the animation. It's the like script is written by a 12-year old.

I have to disagree on it being a waste of money. Clearly people liked it despite it's ups and downs and somewhat messed up pace. The story was ok but the reasons behind why certain things where happening where very poor. For example Gai wanting to bring about the Apocalypse. The ending, for the most part, was very much different from what we've come to expect with shows like this. It gave off a very real feeling and a bitter sweet taste in my mouth. Normally the main character wouldn't be robbed of his love interest, arm, and eyes all together like that. In fact in most shows the main character survives as if nothing major even happened to him or her.

While the story was lacking, I still thought it was a good show. Much more entertaining than a lot of shows that have been airing this season.

Guilty crown is what happens when you try to mix a bunch of colors together and it just turns into ugly blackness. In this case colors = popular series.

So Shu ended up with Ayase huh, or maybe not because he still can't forget about Inori? well tbh I wanted Shu to died together with Inori.. because it's sad that they had to be separated from each other and I think it's more happier that way... Seriously, when Gai said "now go and save Inori" I thought Inori's going to make it, but then whoop! crystallized Inori... Well anyway I guess this series was alright not too bad not too good. And I more prefer if they make the ending either Inori and Shu died together or both of them lived...

6.5 - 7 / 10

The ending should of had both Shu and Inori die, but it still ended up being very romantic (Inori dying for the one she loved, Shu becoming blind but can still see Inori).
But that just goes to show they need him alive for Season 2...

Guilty Crown is a hamburger made by people with the culinary skills and disposition of a mentally challenged dog. They might think they mean well, but it doesn't mean it's going to be any good if they're rolling the hamburger in shit.

Anyway, no more negativity, please. The best comedy of the season's ended!

LOL, I didn't know Shu was blind till I came here... I though Shu was cripple or the cane was just a props.

If Shu was blind how the hell did he freaking escape from the tower falling down while he lost his sight............ ROFL (The writers probably gave him hax to survive that) (We need OVA or Special) Maybe it was side effect of the cancer in later years (Oh wait, he got that from Inori after absorbing her life)

The whole ending was freaking RUSH...(Alot Question are left unanswer)(Who the Hell is Daath and where the hell did he came from and he is still alive?) (Did Daryl Survive?) IMO, They could have made it 26 episode instead 22....

Interesting that most people would prefer Shu to die because living on is worse, even though most wanted to get rid of him until like episode 16 or so..

Anyways, i like it. Could have been better. Not sure about the ending, maybe i would have enjoyed another more, but after they killed Hare i didn't care that much about who Shu ends up with, and i didn't expect him to die, so..but, there are a lot of question left, like, what happend to the voids, what to Daat (seeing that Gai apparantly stopped Manas rebirth?), and so many side chars they barely touched.

Segai vanished without leaving any real impact on the story, even though he always appeared plotting something (even when he was playing games on his phone), Daryl who's relation to Tsugumi was never really touched (did she even once acknowledge that they know each other?)...and then they shove this "you are a nice guy somewhere deep down" scene into the end...a bit weird, seeing that we don't know much about him.

Yuu/Daat who just appeared, kicked ass and got sent back to where they came from..

And what about Funeral Palor? Of course, Tsugumi and Ayase where shown, but the "regular" members like Shibungi or Argo? They never explained what that "Sky Tree Bombing" Kenji was responsible for actually was..and so on.

Not everything has to be explained, but they skipped so much..

Okay.. its nice 'n all that Inori "saved" shu or some crap.. But it would have been a hell of a lot nicer ending, in my opinion at least, if he had died together with Inori.
I wouldn't say he deserved to die cause he was a psycho for awhile who betrayed and hurt people.

Just that the whole last several episodes seemed to be leading up to him and Inori going out together to save everybody else. I mean seriously.. he was pretty much a lost cause with the virus and Inori already being practically dead.. Feels like they pulled it outta their ass letting him survive. Blah.

I myself loved this anime, despite a lot of disapproval and badmouthing. I was kind of sad of how it ended, since I wish Inori had stayed alive with Shu, but did not happen.

Other than that I really enjoyed it.

Also, if anyone knows the names of the songs that came out this episode, please share them...I really want to know what they are.

It was good but it could've ended better
This answered some questions but not the questions we really care about and it left some more questions for them to answer
question 1. how the hell did he go blind?
2. when Gai died apparently it looked as though Shu regained his original kings power and kept his void hand
3. Does that means that he can still use his void?
4. AGAIN how the hell did he go blind
I don't mind that Arisa lived, after a while i stopped caring about weather she would be killed of or survive. Ayase was easily my favorite character she had more depth and life given to her by the producers. I give this a 8/10 because it ended to soon :D

1. Definitely, that would be much more happier ending either they died together or lived together.

2. Don't know about that, I don't really like Tsugumi end up with Daryl. BTW you know the guy with glasses that saved Daryl, why didn't he get into the elevator together with Daryl? If he do that both of them will survived lol.

Poor Shu, lost Inori and his sight to save everyone. Though one of my expectations was indeed Inori saving Shu.

I kinda wtf'd at Gai 'dieing'. He gives Shu a huge slash and Shu gives him a smaller cut than he got and that was enough to kill Gai...

For Shu going blind, I'm basically gonna assume when he was absorbing everyone's void and cancer, he absorb'd Inori's blindness as well which was probably caused by the cancer then she used herself afterwards to keep him from turning into a crystal.

Guess you could say this is a bitter sweet ending.

At least there's the possibly of Shu x Ayase... CRIPPLE AND CRIPPLE!

First the cutest girl in the serie (Hare) die and now Inori.
And in the end Shu keep dreaming that Inori is with him or something like that.
At least they didn't kill Ayase. Man, I really got upset with this ending.
They really know how to spoil an awesome anime.
But... I still loved this anime because two things, first the ost is simply amazing and the second reason is the Inori of course (and they HAD to kill in the end).

Plot holes everywhere.
Infrequent action scenes that don't last long enough and are disjointed. Disappointing considering the animation was one of the strong points.
Numerous characters are largely ignored or introduced without any explanation. Their only reason for existing seems to be to either move the plot along, or to die. The serial killer is a good example. His first appearance is simply to move the plot along, then he disappears. When he finally has some substantial role again (the final episode) he's suddenly a god tier computer hacker? Did he learn this is prison, or while he was murdering people? Then he dies, after moving the plot along.
Characters that aren't ignored have the most schizophrenic personalities ever. Daryl is kind at heart, Guy With Glasses? He shot a woman, begging for her life, because she touched him.
There's very little that feels like it's connecting any of these characters to each other besides the writers telling us that they are.
Why was Da'ath (Daarth, or whatever) even introduced as a plot element? It undermines the entire first half of the show and isn't even used to a significant degree.
If they can give Shu a fancy new arm why can't they give Ayase some legs? Or maybe some prosthetic eyes for Shu.
The big bad's character motivation for trying to bring about Second Impact The Fourth Apocalypse is because his old friend was smarter than he was, and he was jealous.
Attempts to make a clone, without the smallest speck of personality, interesting or sympathizeable.
Odd usages of thematic elements, with little to no consistency between each element. The ballet scene is a great example of this. What exactly is this supposed to represent? Why not use some more religious elements like it did previously? Using thematic elements because they look cool is fine, Eva does this, but Eva is consistent, and ties these elements together well.
Why did the Reapers, who are synthetic, want to kill organics to prevent organics from creating synthetics that they claim would kill organics? That doesn't make any sense.
Why doesn't the Harbinger say anything when he lands in front of Shepard and blows everything up? He's pretty damn talkative in the previous games.
No one is injured when the ship crash lands.
All of the endings are the same, just different colors.
The music was okay.

All in all, Guilty Effect 3 is a disappointment, setting high expectations from the start and consistently failing to live up to them.

10/10.

I loved this series. Sure, it could have had a better flow to its ending if it had the typical 24-26 episode run like most animes, but it did well with what it had.

And I don't understand everyone's confusion towards that line about Daryl in the end. He had enough shots during the series where it showed that he was emotionally vulnerable, such as his interactions with Tsugumi, the drama he went through with his father, etc. Underneath all the psychotic behavior, he was just a nice guy plain and simple. War and neglect can both do some messed up things to good people.

The ending completely surprised me. My prediction was that it would be Shu to die and leave Inori alone, or even for her to do something like she did with dispelling the virus inside him without dying herself. But in the end, they stuck to their "guilty crown" theme and gave a more realistic ending where there isn't a "they all lived happily ever after".
