Otherwise there is no logical explanation to why something like that could have happened (except that guy was just really unlucky O_o) Do you think that the dead is one of them? If so, who? I think Mei's dead sister is living in her fake eye and shes the one killing people and started killing because they were close to learning something about her? I think it definitely has something to do with Mei since shes kinda always the topic or around when someone died so far =x. Umbrella girl died after seeing her, Nurse died after talking about her, teacher..eh, guy on the beach was just disposed to take them off topic. I dont really know xD |

A few of us have speculated actually about how the ghost could be one of them. It is the one logical explanation I think for why it could happen outside of Yomiyama! I really, really think that Reiko is a strong possibility. It follows no logic whatsoever, but I feel like the story is leading us in that direction. |

if only we didn't know that this would be a beach episode, that truck would've been the scariest thing that they pulled off in the show.. it was a superb direction in that part.. and for the entire episode, all i did was waiting for something to happen, because that bgm they used for beach fun is just wtf! though i love it.. i thought they be trolling.. Misaki Mei and school swimsuit.. perfect fit.. best fanservice throughout all the girls for me.. |

I am pretty sure the ghost needs to be a student though. |

Bah... what a MASSIVELY disappointing episode! Or well at least the death^^ Was hoping for something gory, unexpected and original, and all we get is random dude who barely get any screen time to begin with that decides to swim far out to sea alone to fetch a fucking ball when a motorboat appears -.-'' Mei's porcelain skin in a school swimsuit was very pleasing though. And Naoya really deserve some credit as well I'd say, for being able to pack all that neatly into one rucksack, talk about being a professional packrat xD |

GAHHHONF(EF94rjN!!! D:< I'm so mad. I'm usually all over spoilers, but I REALLY didn't want to be spoiled on Another. But no, I just HAD to look at the comments on the video for episode 8 and there it was. Someone posted who the dead person was, no spoiler alert or anything. Sorry, had to get that off my chest. Anyway, this was a pretty good episode. It felt different from every other beach episode out there, which is a good thing. Mei was so cute~ I really want to know who Matsunaga (I think that's his name) stopped the calamity and what he left in the classroom. |

Guilty Crown is better than this, and that show's the epitome of shit that's painted to look pretty. 18 minutes of bullshit filler with nothing happening, followed by two minutes of meh plot, ended with a bullshit, avoidable, ridiculous, and illogical death. I agree with the 2nd part of the post. It was an absolute waste of an episode. But to say its worse than Guilty Crown is blasphemy. That show is as shitty as gets in terms of story and characters. Its only saving grace is the music/graphics. At least this show has some decent suspense here and there. It also has one decent character but other than that its just a "meh" show |

Pretty excellent! I kept waiting for someone to die in this one, but I was half expecting Mochizuki to get carried away by the tide while he was buried in sand and then mauled by sharks. This ending works too. xP |

Shadowdart said: I kept waiting for someone to die in this one, but I was half expecting Mochizuki to get carried away by the tide while he was buried in sand and then mauled by sharks. Yep, I agree here. Mochizuki in the sand, the pufferfish -- and, of course, the truck scene. I really appreciated these subtle (not subtle, in the truck case) sources of tension in an otherwise laid-back episode. That being said, the predictable ending death was pretty disappointing for me. A popular theory seems to be that since someone died when they were away from Yomiyama, the Another must be one of them, but I wonder if that isn't too easy of a solution <_< The preview for next week looks pretty intense, though. Looking forward to it. |

That is such a good point! I am convinced it is Reiko now. Also it is true about the grandfather whispering Reiko and the mom's name, which I originally found to be odd. It would make sense if she had died. I don't think the phenomenon has a "fixed rule" that only students in the class become resurrected. It just seems to happen that it's a student who's the resurrected dead person most (or all?) of the time: at least, if you refer to Chibiki-san's records, it has always been like that. I think the major thing was that anyone connected to the class will die, so it is also plausible that anyone "centrally" (or a major part) included in the class is a dead person. Relatives and others seem too far-fetched to be dead persons, BUT if the relative BELONGS to the third class, that is another matter. Anyway, assistant teachers are very rare, and I wonder...if just like in my former school, they have a chair for assistant teachers in the back? Or do assistant teachers really assist the general form teachers within a lesson, or they do separate lessons? If assistant teachers also sit in the back in Yomi North, then I stand with my theory that short "chairs" don't only refer to students' chairs. It may also refer to the teachers'. THAT is something to think about, don't you think? |

I feel like I'm watching Final Destination with this show. So, I'm laughing in revolt when someone dies because it's so ludicrous & just getting by with the rest of the show. I just hope Ctuhulu or some other Lovecraftian-like force is behind all of this happening. It'd end the show on the best note and save it from being anything below a 6/10 from me. |

Quite disappointed in this episode. Beach scene was cute and relaxing, but... wrong show. The fact that they have time to waste like this just tells me that they don't have enough plot material to fill out the rest of the show. Not to mention fan service fest. At least the SS Kouichi x Mei is well underway on its voyage. Dude... unrealistic death. That propeller can't send an entire body flying. Maybe pieces of your limbs, but your entire body isn't going to get lifted out of the water--much less 20 feet out of it. This was pretty hilarious though. ![]() ![]() |

Sure, I can watch an anime which I don't exactly LOVE, but if I watch an anime I absolutely can't stand that's incredibly stupid and it makes no sense. mdz was asking "Why the fuck does anybody like this show?" It's 1am and watching it now. Look who I find new in the OP in the spoiler![]() About the beginning, the beginning had some good stuff of Reiko. First of all the fact that she does not remember here bot can because as soon as she tries she gets a headache. Moreover there is a closeup of the sugar cube melting away in the spoiler ![]() Noticing that Izumi arrives in limo in the spoiler ![]() ![]() sure does look sick and then I find out he has car sickness, which is never a good thing to have when you travel around. It was kind of corny of how Kouichi felt awkward here as Izumi was asking him to join her in the limo and from the looks of Teshigawara’s blush here he was looked more than happy to join Izumi, which he does have a crush on. However in thee end Izumi trolls him in the spoiler ![]() ![]() About Reiko driving, notice how the events go in the spoiler ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() About Izumi x Kouichi, apparently something is going on in the spoiler ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() About the beach, few points should be raised other than the fan service in the list.
About the end and death. It was obvious from how things started to Teshigawara yelling out here to the shit passing by here. The guy’s death was gross in the spoiler ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thus comes my theory of Reiko being possessed. Let’s start that at first all of this was a test to see how the Ghost’s powers would react outside of town. It truly shows that as long as someone close to anyone that is cursed from Class 3 or a person itself can be killed off anywhere. Then there is Katsumi in the spoiler ![]() ![]() BTW GIFs of Mei are done in her club: http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=408743 nice ones of her in her swimsuit. Rest of the avatars, signature and GIFs are done in the club of Another: http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=408741 some good stuff of Izumi. |

seriously thought this was going to be the one episode where no one died and everyone got to enjoy themselves. mei was very cute this episode, poking the starfish, getting pwnd by the octopus, and whatnot. the sandcastle building together still keeps my mei x kouichi hopes up. :P wasnt too surprised that someone actually ended up dying this episode (pretty brutal death :/ ) but what im wondering is if the curse was still in effect, even after they had left the town, or it had something to do with the guy who stopped the curse 15 years ago... :S |

That's why some people are suspecting Reiko, since it is confirmed that she was in that class. Unless another student came back and they can't remember that person from back then. (We know that the ones that come back have been students from previous classes that are no longer alive.)One thing that I'm curious about is HOW Reiko and Matsunaga are unable to remember that incident. I mean, if it was something as big as a death, I'd be able to remember it for the rest of my life... Maybe the calamity screws with their memory?
