| Hilarious. I just loved how Gintoki conned those two brothers. It was very funny when they were just making up a bunch of stuff that was missing from the house. And Kagura complaining about her room was just great. Next episode looks fun as well, looking forward to it. |

| I actually though the Mokichi stuff was pretty funny. In the preview for the next episode though, the house looked built again. So are they going to resolve the building problem or not? :p |

| Am I the only one who doesn't find this show all that funny? The only episodes I find consistently funny are the ones that feature the Shinsengumi prominently. Take this episode for example. It basically just revolved around the repetition of the exact same joke throughout (Gintoki tricking the carpenters.) It wasn't that great.... I dunno. Seems like most people who watch this show believe it is underrated or something. I don't think so. IMO it is just a mediocre comedy. |

Well, the show is kinda like... you have to be Japanese enough to understand it. you. A lot of the jokes are parodies of something(Historical figures, events, anime, manga, culture, traditions, TV shows...). And name jokes and kanji jokes sometimes. So yeah... Maybe the subbers just left those out or they can't translate it in a way that makes the audience laugh. |

| In my opinion this show is pretty hilarious. Of course there must be tons of jokes I can't understand, but I still think it's quite enjoyable. There were some episodes I would title 'mediocre', but it could be just that I'm not 'Japanese enough'. 8-9 / 10 from me. |
| Yes I understand the show uses alot of references to japanese culture. However, a comedy shouldn't be written so that you have to fully understand that reference in order to find a joke funny. Even the common japanese viewer probably will not be able to pick up on all the parodies and references. My point is, either the show is not incredibly funny or it relies far to heavily on the ability of the audience to pick up on parody and reference in order to be funny. Both situations would make it "mediocre" imo. |
