It makes zero sense. Is High School of the Dead really the only Zombie Apocalypse anime on the planet? If anyone is an up and coming writer...make a zombie apocalypse anime without overdoing the damn fanservice. There is literally no competition at all.

I liked High School of the Dead a lot, but zero main characters died and there was way too much fanservice for my tastes. How is there not a good zombie apocalypse anime out there? It completely baffles me!

There's always Resident Evil but zombie apocalypses and horror like it is usually better represented in live-action or heavy CG.
HoTD was going for a Romero-esque funtime that didn't just settle for gore to excite the audience. So anime fans call it 'fanserivce' but TNA has been included in horror flicks constantly. HoTD was going for a B-movie feel and succeeded.

Why is this not the first thread I've seen calling for more zombies in anime? Is this really a concern worth noting? Isn't there enough Zombie shit over here to satisfy you people?

Sigh...

Sad taste you have there kid you came up to me in the first place making you look more like a kid who got slapped without me even knowing it and start crying about it to me

Well if you're waiting for something new but terribly old, you probably won't have to wait that much longer. Someone's bound to try and top Highschool of the Dead sooner or later....

Anime-wise maybe not, but Manga... there are plenty.

One to become an Anime soon. (Though our definition of 'moe' may differ)

I'm praying for an adaptation of 'I Am a Hero', but I'm doubtful there will ever be one for ages considering how new it is.

Ah, I didn't mean to say that HotD wasn't good, I liked it a lot. I am just a big zombie apocalypse nut and a huge Resident Evil franchise fan. I don't dislike fanservice, but I definitely thought HotD overdid it a bit.

I think a more serious, horror type zombie apocalypse anime would be awesome. I definitely can't get enough zombie media. I have just been super surprised and disappointed that there is only one zombie apocalypse anime out there.

I was looking at some of the manga and may have to satisfy my zombie cravings that way. Also, shame on any of you who are zombie haters! :P

after watched HOTD, I still prefer the movie after all...

like in US TV series, if you know about "Walking Dead". same with HOTD, they suck.
too much shitty drama.
prefer 2 hours of thriller, blood, violent.

Ah, I liked the Walking Dead quite a lot. I do agree that there was a lot of drama and perhaps a bit too much. They definitely drew out several drama scenes that could have been shortened or omitted altogether. I thought they did a really nice job with the gore and violence in it though.

I reject all you people who don't want more zombies in anime. xD I love zombies, like so much. It would take some kind of miracle for me to suddenly declare them boring. The problem is most people just sort of rehash the same plot, over and over and very few people are brave enough to try something new.

Ah well. I'm thinking just one anime that's on par with Dead Alive and I'll be satisfied. I'll also accept a romantic comedy a la My Boyfriend is Back, which is amazing.

Like someone mentioned before, zombies are overused. I have to give credit to Romero for his zombie movies but other than that... They are not even scary anymore. HOTD was not great imo and tbh I only saw it for the panties xD.

If you're talking anime, I'm interested. I've yet to see any sort of necro in hentai anime.

Otherwise, yes, there's plenty of necro/zombie/guro manga.

Apocolypse-type hentai, as well as war hentai, are pretty numerous. Zombies are usually thrown in for good measure, not really engaging in the sexual act.

Well there's Kansen 1/2/3, but those are more sex zombies as opposed to actual zombies.

Not sure how sexual zombies would really work. Would they give you a super hicky?

The infection is spread through sex. After being infected they act like zombies except instead of eating people they gangbang them.

And they seem to be capable of some thought, so they're like "rage" zombies.

For a second I thought of that infectious pollen hentai wherein which the 'pollen' take a human form that constantly fucks various men and women in public, to the point where it's accepted as a natural occurrence.

I was talking about the Kansen series. Pollinic Girls is more like an alien invasion, sorta.

That just so happens to contain a sub-story about a bisexual rich lady that can't reach orgasm and a man engaged to a loli and subsequently getting her 'ready for copulation' with various 'instruments'.

Somehow I think this is diverting a bit much from what TC's asking for.

Anyways, there's some zombie guro manga like "Girl of the Dead"

OP should just play Left For Dead or something. The Japanese aren't very big on zombies, really. They prefer ghosts.

If not a lot of people like zombie animes, then no one's gonna make more...

Besides, Highschool of the Dead was more ecchi than zombie gore.

It's about Zombies, but not a Zombie Apocalypse.

I find it incredible how I can't find any Zombie Apocalypse anime/manga other than HOTD too. Weird.

I'm pretty sure that it's because Zombies are really more of an American thing. The idea of zombies was imported from the ideas of voodoo and the walking dead from the Caribbean. The idea of what we call "zombies" today didn't even originate until like the 1950's. And the whole idea of zombies eating brains wasn't even a part of the original mythology of zombies, that idea came after someone made a knoff-off of George Romero's zombie flicks. The popularity of zombies in Japan isn't nearly what it is in America, it's mostly just a culture thing. You don't exactly see many TV shows in America about Japanese monsters now do you (except Supernatural occasionally)?
Harems don't exist in America. If one guy is constantly surrounded by beautiful girls, then he's probably the gay friend.

The idea of zombies is old and runs through every culture's mythology. What is being asked for is zombie apocalypse, THAT idea is newer which came about from fears of bio-warfare around the 1950s.
