| Pretty awesome chapter and now it's getting into the stuff the anime covered and the anime had an absolutely amazing storyline, so I'm excited. Can't wait for Griffith and Casca to come into the story. |

| I really feel bad for both Gambino and Guts. Gambino was hung over the death of the woman he loved for eight years before Guts killed him. It's easy to hate Gambino for how he treated Guts, but this is a time when superstition reigned supreme and it was just as easy to blame things on "bad omens." In Gambino's mind, Guts really was responsible for Shisu's death, and he carried that weight around for so long. He let that weight corrupt him and ultimately kill him, and I think that's just so sad. Meanwhile, Guts was the poor soul born under terrifying circumstances in an age where he could be nothing but a curse to those who knew of it. He inherited the birthright of suffering, and that destroyed his entire childhood and the only people he cared about. How can one have any clue what it feels like to kill his own father, the only person he thought he could trust? What a harrowing history this guy has. The action in this chapter was a bit too grisly even for me. |

| Ayy lmao so this is where I accidentally flew volumes to the Black Dogs Arc... Guts ran away from Gambino's camp and looked at the starry sky. He managed to kill a pack of wolves by instinct alone despite his condition :o The Grey Knight was the direct inspiration for the Catarina Knights from Dark Souls~ Killing him got him a reputation to build. |

| I feel like this manga is bringing up my own pain, lost memories of pain from my childhood.. that now it all feels like a joke.. All this trauma in Guts' childhood, and does his life get any better? Up until Theresia bitter curses for him and vows of vengeance.. I feel so sad.. Poor Guts. this is a very tender moment in this chapter.. Sometimes I feel that the beauty of the sky above keeps us going. A passerby sees Guts and stops saying "he's got GOOD LUCK to be noticed by us" , just when Guts' luck couldn't have been worse.. felt like a huge joke to me, well, such is life.. what is luck, really? |
| One of the best aspects about this chapter imo are all the subtle recurrences we've been getting to events that took place earlier on in the story, my favorite being: But it was intriguing to see how things played out after the mercenary group rescued Guts. We gonna get into the nitty gritty of the Golden Age arc soon after this which is definitely hype |

| Guts has survived against the odds, and against his own outer desires. But internally, instinctually, it was what he wanted and continues to want. His sword just keeps getting bigger and bigger. No wonder he has that hunk of iron in his current state! |
