| Damned yaoi fangirls ... poor Safu didn't do anything wrong, all she did was be a female love interest in a series mostly based around shonen-ai. :/ Ah well, it's the Raleena Effect from Gundam Wing, anyone who screws up the preferred pairing is Public Enemy #1. Especially if they're one of those icky 'girl' things ;p Agree that Nezumi and Shion are an even more homoerotic version of Naruto and Sasuke, but without the super ninja powers. :P It helps that Nezumi resembles Sasuke with his hair up. Anyhoo, the episode was pretty decent, though it seemed pretty slow-paced to me. It seems like they're just shuffling along and they're already halfway through the series. I hope they don't end up crowding too much into the ending. Looks like next episode Shion runs off, and maybe kisses Nezumi finally :P 4/5 |

| I really, really don't know what to think about Safu. She's not whiny, cute typical anime girl, she's strong and nice. BUT what I don't like about her, is what she's saying. starting from all that "sperm" thing - is that really a love confession that deserves any liking? off course the fact is, that she was raised in a city that is different from the normal ones, but personally I felt disgusted after seeing that scene in the anime. next, back to the topic of today's episode - "Shion's feelings don’t matter". really? if they don't matter to you, then go, and let bad people capture you, and even more, leave your beloved one with sadness, if he won't get a chance to save you. sacrifice is a noble thing, but I won't be sad, if something bad happen to her. it was all her choice, she wanted to go, she accepted the danger, so she will suffer from all the consequences of it. it is sad, her life, her fate, but still, she choose most of it. and yes - she is selfish. she want to see Shion, not rescue him. she is doing it all for herself. and Shion is not selfish, so he really deserves better than her. he should have the rights to choose his own way of living, and not being forced to rescue a friend, who got into trouble all by herself. I think that her love is causing Shion more problems than good. it is causing him to get into trouble, it's making him choose the patch that may leads him to despair and sorrow. he may loose everything that is precious to him because of her selfish love. but, yeah, without it the plot wouldn't ever go on. overall I didn't liked that episode much. the part with Safu's grandma was suspicious, I would like to know if it's a normal thing in No.6 city to wipe out everything after person's death, or if there was some evil behind it. I can't understand how people can fangirling over Nezumi and Shion's fight. to me it was almost heartbreaking. all I see is "OMG Nezumi on Shion" - yeah, but he was not caressing him, he was mad, scary, I don't know, but it wasn't a scene that I would call "shounen-ai fanservice". I would call it "slowly breaking up". even with their words, it was still a sad scene, and I don't see any happy ones coming in a next episodes. even the preview didn't make me happy. I'm shipping Nezumi and Shion with my whole heart, but I don't feel like most of the people who are like "omg the kiss the kiss can't wait!!1". I don't even believe that it would be a real kiss. but we'll see. and, people... leave the yaoi fangirls alone. they really can love and post what they want. I don't like fangirls, but either I'm not calling them "damned" or "stupid" or anything like that. if they need to shout out their happiness or rage, why can't let them do it? I have seen a lot of hetero-loving fangirls posting into topics about their shoujo manga romances, and yet no one complained about their CAPS or !!!!'s. |

| Somehow this series slowly reminds me of real life. People arguing about the same things day after day without acting. And then...usually the previews make it look like as if there will be so much stuff going on in the next episode but in the end nothing happens. xD Though I must admit, I really like this kind of concept. It's like... I remember that many people here were totally waiting for the final answer regarding the question what's happening in No.6. But actually our own world is as mysterious as No.6 probably. Actually the "Picasso art is forbidden" thing wasn't really surprising to me. I mean it's easy to find a country on this planet which is on the surface a little bit like No.6. I mean what do we know about North Korea? Well it was interesting to get some information about North Korea to me too although there might be so many hidden things... + the "Let's break the wall" thingy in this episode totally reminded me of a part of my own History... when Berlin's wall fell. In this case it went out well without killing each other etc...but hmm..this series is kinda inspiring...It makes me think more about my own world than it pulls me into this "fantasy world". |

One more point; JESUS! There was like NOTHING to support shion/nezumi relationships in this episode. AND YET STILL, people are blowing it way out of proportion in this forum . Sure they get hands on at one point, but that is because Nezumi puts a knife up to Shion's throat. That's not exactly lovey - dovey if you ask me. Unless, ofcourse your a sadist :). Shion compares the two of them as friend or foe in this episode aswell, so I'm thinking thats it for the supossed "yapi" (pun of yaoi) love development. Safu and Shion will hit it off, no denying it. And there are definately TOO MANY safu haters out there. She's an awesome character. She doesn't seem "weird" anymore but rather cool, straight forward, intelligent, observent, and tenacious. Theres no "real" reason to dislike her at this point. An example of a "fake" reason to hate her would be that she is getting in the way of a strong "fake" fantasized love between Shion and Nezumi. That's the only reason people have been racking on her this WHOLE time. People are seriously watching this show and disliking characters for the wrong reasons. Smilez! Look, BL fans are biased. We like gay dudes; we would like to see gay relationships. Non-BL fans biased too. You're not into gay dudes; you'd rather see straight (or lesbian, but that doesn't apply here) relationships. We see the hand holding, cheek stroking, dancing, meaningful touching, accidental guard lowering, declarations of devotion, and now possibly kissing (next episode preview) between Nezumi and Shion as subtext pointing toward something beyond friendship. You see it as something else. You see Safu's love for Shion as something that could/will/is being returned. I can't speak for anyone else on this one, but I personally don't, considering he's already rejected her advances once and also referred to her as a friend. This is really just a matter of how we /want/ to see relationships develop. So whatever you see as being 'fake' might make total sense to us, and vice versa. I partially agree with you on the Safu thing, though. She's not well developed yet and her recklessness is selfish, but I don’t see how rooting for Nezumi/Shion is a legitimate reason to hate her, considering she hasn’t even interfered with their relationship yet. Of course, I don’t mind her because she’s cute and I’d be happy to steal her away from Shion, but…yeah. That’s not exactly decent reasoning either. -EDIT- Whoa, two pages of replies already? I'm freaking slow. |

| I really like Safu, I don't understand how she can be annoying, we barely even see her. And from what we did see from her, she cares a whole lot for Shion and would do anything to be with him. The one that's annoying me right now is Nezumi. He treats Shion like crap and won't tell him anything. No wonder Shion still sides with No.6. I also think letting the bees kill everyone is harsh. The citizens in the city have done nothing wrong, they shouldn't have to die. Also, not telling Shion about Safu.. not cool. I was looking forward to a kiss scene a few episodes back, but now I'm not so sure. There's too much tension in their relationship. |

| I asked someone on LJ who's read the novels what gender Dogkeeper is and they told me that it's not explicitly stated. I think it's safe to say the translator just thought Dogkeeper looked like a boy, so they gave "him" a gendered pronoun. So, for those who see "him" as a guy? Feel free to keep doing so. And for those who see "her" as a girl? Also, feel free to keep doing so XD In my headcanon, Dogkeeper is a girl, though there's always the possiblity of "her" being something in between too... let's not open up that can of worms though, haha. |

| So, I watched all 6 eps today. Kinda regret it, it's gonna be awful waiting a week for the rest of the eps :< I'm gonna treat Dogkeeper like Chrona from SE tbh, could be either gender easily. Lack of chest doesn't actually mean anything in non-anime land. Anyway, they should just hurry up and kiss. Though it's a lot sweeter with all the incidental touching and dancing and so. And poor Safu. She's actually a good female character, smart and not a giant slutty bitch, and in any show that didn't have shouen-ai themes she would be majorly shipped with every single cha- I mean liked. She's lovely. |

I really like what you said. I didn't like at all when she said that Shion's feelings didn't matter. It seems like she was going to follow him even if she was rejected, i don't like those types of characters. If that happened, she just should move on with her life. But i don't hate Safu, because 'till now she seems to be a strong character. And she reminds me of Riku from DN Angel. Sigh... poor Nezumi, it's hard to keep your tsuntsun attitude up <3 Seems like that in the previeuw Makes me wonder how the anime will end btw, I can't see a good ending happening tbh... the way things are now we can expect a sad or open ending :( |
