Whoa whoa whoa. That was a trap? That fucked with my head more than the rest of the episode.

I'm glad they're going with parallel timelines though. It opens up a bunch of possibilities for future episodes, and it's the theory that I'm most interested in.

Wow, it's getting even better than I expected. Also the (I assume) timewarped banana was pretty weird.
I hadn't expected a cross-dressing boy to appear in this kind of series, but alright.

Also what Suzuhu Amane said, "Buraun ga suki dakara", was pretty funny. Buraun means CRT, but it sounds the same as Brown (the nickname Rintarou gave to the owner of the electronics shop). So she basically says she likes CRT's, but also that man, although she doesn't seem to notice herself. He also says "You're hired" immediately because 'Mr. Brown' also loves CRT's.

Also, people who like the opening should listen to the opening of the visual novel. Here's a youtube link.

Absolute complete utter garbage with no restrictions to how low the quality can probe, with utter incompetence on exactly every single little field you could find incompetence on except the voice acting. Boring, stupid, predictable, shoddy, moronic, the characters are characterized as if they should star in a satire but are played straight, full of itself and piss-poorly directed. Shakycam is a horrible thing in live action but completely incomprehensible to use in animation.

But hey, at least it's several leagues better than its sister anime and has a hot trap.

Worth watching for its distinct so-bad-it's-amazing qualities.

Nice episode, the series is turning out better than I thought it would.

It seems the makers of this anime actually did their homework involving time travel conspiracies, as for the IBM 5100 reference seems to hold significance in the story line since its connected to the John Titor conspiracy. As it turns out the IBM 5100 is capable of reading and changing all of the legacy code
written by IBM before the release of that system and still be able to create
new code in APL and basic.(copied and pasted I barely know what that means, but it seems that is the reason John titor came from 2036 to the past and get a hold on one)

Though I still don't know how they'll make these reference fit into the storyline if they ever do.

Well, this obviously is influenced by Serial Experiments Lain. This is weird, it's as if Lain was invaded by a bunch of today's anime archetypes, but with time travel as the theme. It's oddly refreshing to see these types of characters in a show like this. However, I really doubt it will measure up to Lain or a number of other mind-frags, because I really don't see any deep themes here. Instead, I see a sci-fi thriller that is heavily catering to the tastes of modern anime fans, and for the most part it is not bad.

I loved the episode. There were many powerful directions that just left me in awe. It is adding more mystery in, but at the same time, providing some clues to allow us to solve those questions through the episode, which is very well done. For example, microwave's true ability, even though I was sorta expecting about it sending the object to the past somehow, direction was powerful enough to seize me amazed. I wonder how Makise Kurisu found Okabe's base.

This episode add a lot more mystery with that banana teleportation and Makise beeing alive and all, also that strange girl with the phone and the IBM looking PC :D. And the sign Goodle on his computer made me OMFGLOL :D... it has a lot of comedic moments and i just love how that maid girl was adding nya~ on the end of her speech MOOO KAWAII~ Nya~

And by the way, we probably have" two" "John Titor". I need two, at least, in order to fit with everything so far and in order to have a correct scenario.

That's what I'm thinking. IIRC, Rintarou actually points out that John Titor is supposedly American, but is seen on a Japanese website in the @channel segment. I'd say that someone is impersonating Titor, but his removal from web searches suggests that something else is going on. Or maybe both.

I really want to see how everything gets explained, and what other events unfold. This show has my interest.

There are so many references to the real world in anime, Google did have many different names and IBN was obvious a reference to IBM. Windows, Apple, Coca Cola, McDonalds, Burger King and many others have many references. Actually it's an advertising for those companies, but it's not originally meant to be. Also most trains in anime are a lookalike or are a straight copy of real Japanese trains.
It's pretty interesting to see how many references there are.
You should also read this article, it's even about Steins;Gate.

did anyone understand reference from the first episode, when makise kuresu asked him what you wanted to tell me about 15 minutes ago but okabe rintaru was clueless, he even said, "who are you?" but then he make up something and ran away. after few minutes he saw her dead.

is that scene somehow related to the episode two starting scene? when okabe rintrou was wondering why she's alive but she couldn't understand a thing and asked him who are you.

that's actually pretty confusing right now for me..

Possibly something that has not happened yet.

The whole first episode scene makes it seem so that Rintaro himself will travel to the past at some point. I would not be surprised on if he was the one using "John Titor" name because he read about him (thus causality paradox, he read about himself)

Right now my opinion stands that it's still too early for me to decide whether this is "5/5 OMGZ SUPER AMUHZING" like so many people seem to have already decided. I'll give it four episodes before I decide whether I want to keep watching it, or if I think it's utter crap. At least so far it is much better than Chaos;head.

The trap, though....

“…but he’s a guy.”

WHY DO TRAPS HAVE TO BE SO EFFIN’ FEMENINE AND CUTE?! I FELL TROLLED.

Anyway, great episode. I love the way it is going with the time travel possibilities, the parallel world’s theory and the disintegration of particles at traveling to the past or future, which can’t keep their former shape and therefore have a slight change in appearance. I find it really interesting.
I think, then procrastinate.
Therefore, I am.

This was an improvement (sort of) from the 1st terrible ep. The aspect that I didn't expect to improve actually did, which is the animation; they prolly found 'nuff coins lying on the streets to buy a new color palette or something...

As for the characters, it was harsh to look at egomaniacal dude's ugly mug & that moe shit girl's silly moe shit acts, as usual, and it's gonna get worse from now on the way it's going. Red-headed girl turned out to be generic candy-eye but hey, it's still sweet candy, brainless but sweet.

The plot itself is so-so, sometimes on the verge of boring me to sleep but it's still better than Dog Days or A-Channel. The focus was off, so instead of focusing on all the temporal shenanigans going on, they decided to emphasize on Ego dude's pimping adventures, him and his ugly mug. Sweet ~

If he's not with us, he's AGAINST us!!!

whoa, wait a min...

So this whole "time-travel" thing is actually dealing with parallel universe?? and Houoin is jumping around these universes??

And this organisation is controlling this "time-travel" thing??

Someone plz fill me in this... I literally mind fucked from episode 1 to 2 and yeah.... I was told to watch this without trying to solve and getting crazy over it but, I still want to know the "setting" of this show so I can understand what the hell is going on.

To be exact, Houoin's actions lead into our universe shifting into one of parallel timelines.(think of that like traffic lights. Traffic light goes from red to green, and the one who is lit up is "the main" from the pov of those who noticed the change.) So the times Houoin's actions lead to parallel timeline, he remembers it, however only the one who does that remembers it.

If timeline would be "shifted/diverged" by someone else, Houoin would not remember that and only the person who did that would.

"The agency"and 99% of what Houoin is talking about is a live action roleplay that means nothing. Its kind of thing some present-day teenagers would do(except that Houoin is not a teenager). Sort of all-time LARP-ing, to deal with various things he can't or does not want to comprehend.

"SERN" organization on other hand is VERY VERY real.

Okarin is just making me laugh to tears ;D The scene in front of the shop was one of the most funniest moment’s I’ve ever seen. I like this part-time girl, she does not seem to think of Okarin as a weirdo. And he’s so funny, when he tries to look like a serious person who does not renegede on his word, and yet he still does exactly the opposite. He seems to have good heart, and to be scary just when it comes to words.

Talking about the second and not as fun as "strange" part of the episode... It caught me and didn't let me go until the very end O.O I just can't say "I did see this coming", because I really didn't. If the previous episode was confusing, this one is more like... STRANGE and INEXPLICABLE!

That was more interesting! I think because of the lack of Mayuri. Every episode should contain as little of her as possible pls.

My guess is that the John Titor guy is the main char from the future.

I laughed at the trap, thought he was going to be another annoying girl. Nope, we got one of those anyway (chick with plaits). -2 for this show immediately. Why can't more of the female chars be like Makise? I'd even take more ~mysterious and shy~ girls like the other one with the old computer on her phone.

On to the next episode~
