They seem newish and have already released all 52 episodes of Super Doll Licca-chan in only three months. So there is lots of hope for Sarah. :)

Some new releases from The Skaro Hunting Society (aka yours truly):
Cyborg 009 (1968) episode 7, featuring the exploding cyborg kid.

Rainbow Sentai Robin (1966) episode 1. This is version 2, which has been properly quality checked and includes the closing credits this time.

Welcome Doll-licca. Your updates have been amazing. Around here we love World Masterpiece Theater series, so Sarah was more than well received. :)

Now I'll get to the annoying question that some fansubbers dislike. Have you pondered on the hypothesis of releasing more WMT titles upon the competition of Sarah? I know that the fansub has some kind of policy of releasing only Shoujo anime, and the WMT world has some series that fits the "Shoujo" category very well, even though they still are different kind of Shoujo stories than the rest of the genre.

We aren't sure as of yet. Yes, we do pretty much only shoujo anime (you won't be seeing us doing mecha series any time soon).

Right now, we'll just take it one step at a time. We would need to finish A Little Princess Sara. We do have another project in the wings, but that's not to be revealed until later.

After that, we may or may not do another WMT series. There's lots of anime out there that still needs to be subbed. :)

Edit: Oh, I forgot we released episode 6 about 20 minutes ago. The listing isn't on AnimeSuki yet, though.

Doll Licca, big thanks for "Princess Sara". And we really feel a bit "privileged" to have you here. We are really grateful for your work.

PS It would actually be very nice if more fansubbers(obviously the ones that sub oldschool stuff mainly) would join this club and write/update occasionally cause i think it's about the best place on web to promote their works. And also to get couple "thanks", which is always a nice thing.

I don't really now if this is the best place to discuss about Old school anime on the web, but I'd like it to be.

Over the years, I always looked for a place to discuss about old school anime but most of the boards were about general anime, they had forums with old and new anime topics randomly thrown in together or were about some specific series or franchises (like, Gundam boards, Macross, etc...). I never found a place to discuss about only old school anime.
But I've seen plenty of knowledgeable guys on old school anime out there. We need to keep spreading the word, to make this place a reference for old school anime discussions.

Oh, on your list of related series:

Licca-chan Fushigi na Fushigi na Yunia no Monogatari has released by ARR (Anonymous Russian Rippers).
Licca-chan Fushigi na Mahou no Ring has two releases; one by ARR, one by Licca Fansubs. The one you would want is determined by whether you wanted the encode in h.264 or XviD. Personally, it doesn't really matter which one you get; it's well worth watching.
Licca-chan no Nichiyobi was released by ARR as well.

A Little Princess Sara 9 is fresh out of the oven!

As for which version to download on Licca-chan Fushigi na Mahou no Ring, basically ARR's version is encoded from the Anime-Miners DVD in h.264, while our version is our own translation in XviD.

It pretty much comes down to whether you want h.264 or XviD; the translation isn't very different as the OVA was relatively easy to translate. You just need to watch it.

And they pick mostly "manly" series and dislike the moe epidemic, so it easily gets the approval seal of the club.

Just grabbed the torrent for Sakigake, thanks for the heads up Rob. Looks pretty cool, even better since it's what apparently influenced Cromartie Highschool, which I thought was hilarious.

Might have influenced Cromartie but the humour is significantly different. Still funny though.

Licca keeps releasing Sarah on the ultra great speed and is currenly on the 14th episode already and the old guys of ANBU (I remember when these guys where the hot fansub for Naruto!) are keeping the first Dragon Quest series fansubs. Looks like the guys of Frenchies-subs dropped these one and are only focusing on the second series so I'll update the status.

It's a nice opportunity for us that haven't checked on Dragon Quest yet, to start doing so now. I know I'll do.

I think Dougram will be the next mecha I watch. Either that or Vifam, really excited for Dougram to finish up, that way I can grab the batch.

Speaking of mecha, and old school. I watched some of the VOTOMS OVA's (Red Shoulder, Big Battle and Roots of Ambition).

Red Shoulder and RoA provided some neat extra insight on Chirco's past with the Red Shoulders, and Fyana meeting Ypsilon for the first time, but Big Battle was just an extended episode that really didn't fit anywhere.

Still nice watches though.

I realize this one is 1997, but it's incredibly obscure so figured I'd throw the update out here too.

Another "mRips" release courtesy of MonoEye over at mSubs. Basically just like Space Knight Tekkeman, just getting this rare and obscure stuff out there for the sake of being so rare and obscure.

New releases from http://www.skarohuntingsociety.blogspot.com/

I finally got around to releasing version 2 of GeGeGe no Kitaro (1968) 2-7. I'd been meaning to get to this for a while, but I finally decided to make sure I finished it (along with version 2 of Cyborg 009 1-5) before the end of the year.

Also, a special Christmas release: Suteneko Tora-chan (aka Little Tora, the Abandoned Cat), a 1947 Christmas themed short directed by Kenzō Masaoka. Masaoka is a very imortant figure in the history of animation and his work has long been overlooked by animation fans around the world. He was the first anime creator in Japan to use cell animation and recorded sound. In addition to attempting to spread holiday happiness and cheer by subtitling this, I'm also trying to do my bit to make sure just a few more people out there become aware of Masaoka's work. This short features cute cats in a charming story about accepting a downtrodden outsider.
