I thought the Ghastly Garcon looked creepier as a human than as a ghost, which is pretty messed up XD.

But overall I really liked this episode. It was the only one to only have one story the whole time, and it was Reiko centric =]. I also liked how the episode explained why Reiko never believed in anything supernatural.

Am I the only one who thought Sora and Ako looked a lot alike?

Also, when Ako saw the guy on the beach holding her hat, was that a flash back, or a scene from the earlier ED, or what?

I will give this series a 7/10. It was always fun to watch, and I learned about tons of ghost stories I had never heard of before.

I hope someone subs the movie!

LOL I prefer him as a ghost, well he looks as a ghost even in his human form, I missed seeing the ending song. Ah this reminds me of Hell Teacher Nube, I wish a group would finish subbing it.

Her brother looks like Anko, I think if Anko was male she'll look just like him, so I guess I agree with you GarLogan78, and if they sub the movie I'll be happy.

I always thought that maybe that Obake Garcon was somewhat related to Anko because of that beach scene and thought maybe we would get some explanation. Maybe the movie we'll tell us where she met him before.

5 out 10 (average)
Art: 5/10 (average) Nothing special at all about the art
Story: 5/10 (average) Rehash of old rumors and wives tales thats family friendly
Characters: 4/10 (below average) same 6 characters put in different situations, kind of like how actors do in skits. They play their roles fine but nothing special about them.
Enjoyment: 6/10 (above average) "scary" anime dumbed down for kids enjoyment is not my type of anime. Not good not great but it had some nostalgic moments.
Audio: 5/10 (average) all the typical scary sound effects are here. voice acting is actually fairly bad on this one. so it brings it down to a 5.

It was an enjoyable average anime if that makes any sense ^_^

And yes it has similarities with Ghost Stories. But ghost stories is B-movie bad. Children dying from falling gym equipment was just hilarious. And until this show has a hilarious english dub track, it will never be as epic as Ghost Stories.

Nice wrap-up to the series, but like most anime it leaves unanswered questions. Foremost being the identity of the Ghastly Garcon and his connection to Ako. It seems that the the scene at the end of the first ED in which they meet at the beach actually happened in canon, and seeing Garcon wearing a beach hat Ako almost remembers it. But annoyingly what could have been an interesting plot is left undeveloped. As of 2014, no sequel has come out and I have no idea what was shown in the live-action since it seems impossible to get; so that's it I guess.

5/10. There's really nothing special about this show when it comes to the content of the story and characters. I think its target audience is more of the younger people so it wasn't for me. It had some decent comedy parts though but couldn't handle well on what to do w/them.

I agree with the unfortunate case of the Anko/Ako and Ghost Garcon thing being unexplored. Seems really mysterious, but they never got the chance to explore it. All they did was give subtle hints. :(

I really liked how this anime is an anthology--instead of it being revolving around some sterotypical plot like others do. Don't get me wrong. I like the untold Ako/Anko and Ghost Garcon plot. It's just that I like how the anime focuses more on the many stories it can tell, giving it an impression of a large bank of many different stories.

I also liked how it doesn't have to be about ghosts all the time. There's variety. I find that really great.

This anime really needs a season 2. Although some people may not like it, there are some who really appreciate and enjoy the anime. Wiki has it that the storybook it was adapted from was composed of 50 volumes. That's a lot, and we only get 23 episodes and one movie?

:/

Makes me really sad that the good anime always get the very low number of episodes, while the overrated, mediocre ones get like 300. ;__;

*sigh* Oh, well. Maybe there is hope... For the mean time, I am currently rewatching the anime. I love it so much I started rewatching two(?) days after finishing the anime and the movie. XD

Nice conclusion. And we finally learn the reason for Reikos aversion to the paranormal and why she always tags along nevertheless.

I wouldn't mind if the show goes on forever. ):

Episode is good, but as the final episode.. I don't know. They revealed that Garcon and Ako met before in the past.. and.. the show just stops. -_-

The show had it's annoying moments, but I will miss the main trio, and Garcon's (Hirata Hiroaki's) "miina-sama" voice. I enjoyed the show throughout.
