I always watch from my watchlist and complete all of it. It's actually quite simple, the only thing you need is to be consistent, methodical, and perseverant.

I don't keep a Plan-to-Watch list for this exact reason.

I end up getting frustrated by indecision and choose something on a whim anyway. Why maintain a list, when I can choose directly from the streaming site?

And there's still a ton of stuff that I'm interested in but haven't gotten around to yet, so this system works for me fine.

Yes, I do, all the time

Alright, I see what ur problem is. I would recommend that you choose 10 series that u want to watch immediately. Then put the other 89 in plan to watch. U could utilize ur on hold list for series that u want to watch, but only after u finish the ones in ur watched.

Imo, I usually put series that haven't aired in my ptw list and series that I might watch in my on hold list. Don't give urself a headache choosing specifically which on, just grab the first 10 and keep going.

I never used my Plan to Watch list - life is too random to plan that much ahead.
You just pick whatever you are into the mood for from what is available.

not all the time, but most of the time. I think it helps to be a little picky about which anime you add to your ptw list in the first place... adding only anime that seem genuinely interesting to you, instead of just popular or potentially ok

I find that watching four anime consistently, and maybe a few more sparingly, is optimal for me. Even with a plan to watch list, once it gets too big it stops serving its purpose, though in some cases it's nice to just have it as a filter so I don't need to go back and look through everything that came out during one particular year to choose between the ones I'm actually interested in or are even available, but I never wind up having literally everything I'm interested in watching on one.

Theoretically it will come in October 2026 or it will be postponed for winter 2027.
It's a Kadokawa owned brand, so the chances are decent.

I don’t usually add anime to my plan-to-watch list since I know I’ll never actually watch them.

Usually yes, but the anime in my PTW don't all have the same priority: some anime stay there for a long time, some others will leave right after I added them there.

I try to keep a reasonable amount of anime in my PTW; I actually managed to empty it a few months ago, until I added quite a few anime from 2020 and 2021 that might interest me but I skipped because I used to watch way less seasonals back then.

Yes obviously, what else have I added the anime in my watchlist for? However, I'm not even paying attention to the number because I'll also get headache if I get fixated on it. My PTW is currently 886. I plan to watch it all slowly, over many years, no need to rush.

do you even watch from your "watchlist"?

That's why the ptw list exists, so yeah, ofc I'm watching shows from this list.

I just download shit at random I will have a collection of 10 trillion bytes of anime soon. And one day plan for 100 trillion bytes.
