Fushi's modern life in a nutshell. Only the second episode and there's already drama brewing.

Mizuha also seems to have taken off by herself but luckly, they found her. Fushi's relationship with his friends feels like a colorful family though. Mizuha also seems more of a complex character than she looks, and we got to see her friendship with Hana. Interesting development in terms of context. Still getting used to the modern setting but I think it works for this timeline/show.

This is such a rewarding experience. I'd bring people from the past to show what world peace look like, but the biggest problem is we still haven't achieve world peace yet.

Since this season has two cours I kinda expect one last threat for a farewell, and since it's the final one it's gonna be a big one. But I'm not afraid anymore as long as Fushi has all his friends around him.

Amazing episode, better than the premiere. It seems so surreal to see Fushi and his crew in modern day, laughing, fighting and being silly together. Yea, they had to die to get there, but the fact they’re together and well just makes me so happy. I laughed so much seeing all the petty fights today and banter after everything they’ve been through.

I just feel bad for Yuki and Aiko grandpa because how you gonna show up and just take over his house and move all these people in lmao. Granted Fushi did expand the house and all, but still. I’m concerned about Yuki big ass mouth getting them in trouble because why does he keep putting out info about them lmao, Feds are def gonna show up at some point and it’ll be all his fault

My yuri detector is going off so hard rn, is Oima sensei giving us lesbian romance in here?? Hello?? Hanna and Mizuha relationship is so cute. The way Mizuha was there for Hanna when she was new and had no friends and now she’s standing up for her.. but I’m worried Mizuha is gonna off herself because her parents seem emotionally detached and she seems to be struggling at school, then she finally gets a crush in Hanna and they have to move? I don’t have a good feeling about this!

That first part left me intrigued. About how Fushi story is seen, with Bon being seen as a true historical figure. With no one recognizing him, but Bon was. There's a modern book with his face stamped on a whole page. And Mizuha's family feel the one that surely know the books.

Good for Fushi, getting well-off people many times.

I really enjoyed the "slice of life" part of this episode, and the airport segment made me smile. Many questions remain after this episode.

I wonder what happened to the Guardian force created by Hayase 800 years later. Are they still passing on Fushi's stories? This promises to be an interesting season.

@WilliamMinerva20 An interesting question. Right now, we only have these people from Bon's OG country, but surely others would show up if it becomes known he has awakened.

God! Gugu is back! the best boi! the boi who deserves all the happiness! my boi!

Anyways, the first half of the episode is quite nice, loved seeming them all come back and while i don't remember some i do remember some. March is ofc the cutie patootie and the bear as well.. don't remember the teeth guy and don't remember much of the mute girl..

Anyways.. not really that interested in the Mizuha girl tbh.. Having flashbacks in the second ep is a weird choice.. they want us to reminisce the character that we don't even know of.. more interested in the glasses girl than mizuha..

@YoshiYogurt This was explained last season. When someone dies they can choose to either move on to the afterlife or stick around as the same soul/consciousness(we got a peek of this the first time Bon died). The bodies are "clones" created by Fushi but the disembodied souls can take over their cloned body.

Fushi's closest friends stuck around after death to help him out.

With Fushi basically being able to bring back everyone from the past it's time to gather them all in a stranger's house and what other way is there to do so other than by creating a ruckus at the airport by behaving like a bunch of idiots. It's cool though since even March is there and Fushi is able to pull up Simcity tactics to expand a house to twice the size. Someone who isn't hvaing peace though is Mizuha, who Fushi recognized right away as a descendant of Hayase and now is missing much to the dismay of her friend who fears she might have... committed the worst sin.

So, Fushi has a lot of books written about him. He's like some sort of mythical figure or something. If that's the case, wouldn't his revival be a bigger deal? Or they're just lying low? Because it seemed like Bon's estate or whatever it was still exists and functions really well. So it's not like people shouldn't be aware of his stories.

Mizuha's family is moving out in a month. That's it? She just got a month's notice and nothing else? Her parents really are terrible.

All of the gang meeting up in the airport and causing chaos was cool af. It's such a surreal scene. I loved it. Fushi finally reunited with March too. That was wholesome. The whole episode was wholesome. They really destroyed the old guy's home and gave him a new one. Now that I think about it Fushi is kinda like the Mr. Beast of that world but more wholesome and less dystopian.

Oh so Yuki and Aiko's parents are still alive. They're just working abroad. When I see kids living only with their grandparents, I automatically assume their parents are dead. Good thing they're doing ok. Fushi and the others being surprised by smartphones of all things is so cool to see.

Seems like Mizuha ran away from home. Understandable. Everyone has their limits. Hope she won't do anything stupid. This episode was over so fast and the cut-off point of the episode was so sudden and weird. I'm really liking the mysterious plot with Mizuha too. Can't wait for the next episode. I missed this show.

The gang's all back together, and I'm happy to see Fushi happy. He made his promise, and everything is peachy...for now. I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop, and I believe it'll involve Mizuha. At this point, the series isn't hiding it now. Fushi is like the second coming of Jesus Christ.

The popular guy being almost chased in a way by the two girls that tried to bully Mizuha is oddly funny in a weird way, though it also helps that the girls are practically caricatures and I don't recall them getting much development besides just generally being b*tches and super insecure to obsess over this one guy for probably years. Textbook example of how Japanese bullying manifests, spreading rumors and ruining a person's reputation to the point they're socially isolated. And all because they're jealous of her and probably knowing about half the stuff they say about her is malarkey

Finally, the old gang comes together ❤️❤️
Bon's family managed to pass on the legend of Fushi and made sure to keep their promise to Fushi through the Tasty Peach foundation.
I was worried that March would never meet Fushi but glad they did. I loved the older and wise Tonari but it's so good to see the bratty Tonari back.
So Mizuha loves Hanna. Thank God, it's not Fushi again lol
Yuki is having a blast hosting Fushi and his companions in his home, haha

Mizuha is the descendant of best girl, so she's best girl by default

speaking of best girl, I hope Fushi summons her, if there's a way ofc I know her soul not currently there but it's incarnating through her descendants

@McKlown So Parona's soul decided not to stay with Fushi, even though she sacrificed so much for him? Not even Rynn chose that, given that she could have reunited with Gugu's soul.

Another question that occurred to me at the end of the episode is that I already imagined the glasses were a disguise to hide the fact that Hanna is the spitting image of Parona, but how could Hanna be her descendant if she was murdered by Hayase?🤔

Gosh, I needed this sacharin happiness so bad right now. It felt so good seeing everyone reunited and enjoying themselves. After everything they went through, they deserve this peace too much.

Of course, the story can't continue like this indefinitely, but if there's one thing this anime taught me, it's that we should enjoy happiness when we have it, no matter what might come aftewards. If life has a meaning, it exists in these little moments.

I think Mizuha is a bit of a red herring. Sure, her story is sad and she's probably dead already, but the true lesson Fushi still needs to learn is that the peace he's achieved for the world is not a true peace. It's completely reliant on his constant intervention. As soon as he woke up, things have started to fall apart. We just haven't seen it yet.

The tough choice he'll face is, does he continue to play the role of God and quietly manipulate the fate of humanity, or does he let everyone be free to make their own choices, their own mistakes? I think Mizuha will teach him just how hollow the former kind of peace really is.

Thinking where this show started and where we are now feels so weird. Like a strange epilogue that didn't need to happen. Everyone could have stayed dead and Fushi becomes the tree guardian of the world keeping the peace or whatever. But I'll stick around and see what weird SoL or drama stuff we get up to. Idk maybe they'll bring back an antagonist of some sort.

In that case it should’ve stopped after season 1?

The whole point and goal of Fushi once he had hit a point of development and created all these bonds with people is that he felt helpless when they died. He wanted to be able to reach a time where it was more peaceful and the people who sacrificed so much and taught him so much respectively could be rewarded and they could live happily.

Even if you still see it as an unnecessary epilogue, regardless whether it continued or not it would’ve always needed an OVA or little Mob Psycho III treatment to see pay off. Fushi remaining as a tree god would’ve only served the protagonist beat antagonist purpose, not satisfy or fulfil any of the personal wishes or dreams of our main character.

@Shaka-bun What are you talking about. Parona didn't sacrifice so much for Fushi, she did it for March. Pioran was the one from that time that sacrificed a lot for him. Rean was close to Gugu, not Fushi, so it wouldn't have mattered either way.
