Taguchi board! Honestly, I don’t really care about the animation in this show since the drawings are consistently amazing, so I get why the small movements are there. But wow, a Taguchi-boarded episode really changes things. That scene of Shouhei jumping at the start is probably the most movement this show has had lmao. This scene in particular, idk there’s just something about it I love. Taguchi really knocked it out of the park here. That said, the visuals aren’t everything, this show has never needed crazy sakuga to carry it. The content in this episode was already strong on its own; the good animation just makes it better. The first half was obviously all about Subaru and how she still struggles to be upfront with the others. But with a little help from Waguri and some reassurance from Saku, she realizes she’s more than just accepted here, she’s part of them. So yeah, she really doesn’t have to worry so much :) Keep these moments with Saku and Subaru in mind, they’ll be important later, wink wink. There’s a reason Subaru is best girl here, hehe. But enough about them, Waguri and Rintarou are the main couple, so ofc they get their moment too, and it’s just as good, if not better. Speaking of visuals again, I absolutely loved the lighting during the sparkler scene. Felt straight out of TYBW with the red rim lights and all. Again, the visuals just add to the scene’s greatness. It’s not flashy, but that’s the beauty of it, a simple heart-to-heart between two friends... well, maybe more than that now because oh. my. god. HE SAID THE FUCKING THING AHHHH. OH MY FUCKING GOD AHHHHHH. I almost started bawling when the ED kicked in, I’m literally shaking right now. The setup for the finale here is nothing short of amazing, I can't wait but also don't want it to end next week :( |

| Arguably the best beach episode ever. No fanservice, no unnecessary sexualisation of minors, just good wholesome fun, bonding AND OUR CONFESSION. Thank you for the meal Cloverworks. They did my beloved Subaru so much justice today. Please help, she’s so pretty I can’t 😭 I am so proud of her fully becoming apart of the friend group! My fave episode yet. Hard to believe we just have one more episode next week, not ready for this to end. Got my two fave things in equal parts in this episode. 1st half is very much the next step in Subaru’s character development. She’s still not FULLY comfortable, but she’s taking strides and will get there eventually. Her trauma has been around for over a decade so that doesn’t disappear overnight, but having such a kind group of boys who are understanding and not pushy will really help. The way Kaoruko instantly clocked something was off with Subaru from the moment they got off the train is so cute. Buying sandwiches for her because she knew Subaru was too nervous to speak up, keeping her involved in what was going on and then of course literally holding her hand and supporting Subaru as she told the boys the truth, Kaoruko continues to show why Subaru reveres her! Saku x Subaru crumbs YES. It’s so cute how similar they are, the way Saku didn’t wanna ask for the donuts is just like Subaru not asking about the sandwiches, both introverted, both have hearts of gold. The way he peeped she was hungry and knew she wasn’t quite to the point where she’d feel comfortable asking so he offers her, ahhh we love a man that can pick up hints. This means so much to me lol “I like you” AHHHH I WON. The way Kaoruko was so pretty Rintaro’s brain just couldn’t contain speaking how he really feels lmao. 11 episodes in we get a confession, your fave romance just isn’t doing that. Once again ending an episode making the absolute cinema meme reaction irl lol. |

| Subaru is obviously more than welcome and it's beautiful to see her open up slowly to the boys. She's now in an environment where she can leave her past experiences behind to simply have a good time with everyone. And damn, wasn't expecting such a confession after this. Love these kind beach episodes. |

| I like this anime a lot but it’s so painfully cringe at times. I had to pause and skip a few times, especially during Hoshino’s outburst. The drama just feels a little contrived sometimes. Nobody really talks like this. |

I was physically cringing at how long and drawn out these dramatic scenes were. The Waguri, Rintaro, and the boys sections were good. Just a shame Subaru took up half the episode sulking and then saying she wants to be friends. I get it safe space, trauma, etc but nobody brings it up like that in real life. |

| Ngl I thought this was the final episode so the whole vibe of this episode felt kinda off since I mean a final ep being dedicated to Subaru felt kinda random. Turns out there’s 1 more episode, I suppose it will clear up what happened at the end. So the episode was mainly Subaru focused, she had definitely felt kinda not left out but you could tell she wasn’t fully comfortably which mainly came from her own internal issues but I mean Rintarou and the gang are all amazing guys so they accepted her before she even realised. I gotta say though I’ve watched a ton of romance anime and most the big ones but Rintarou’s confession to Kaoruko might have been the most adorable thing ever. The whole situation and her reaction was amazing. Can’t wait to see how this all plays out next episode. Hope they don’t clam up though and start avoiding eachother |

That's the point people. You grow up into an adult in high school and your hormones push your emotions all over the place. Subaru is pushing herself past her (admittedly semi-melodramatic) previous issues dealing with guys as part of maturing into an adult. Rintaro is also maturing too as he develops. In fact, all the characters will eventually go through more changes and challenges as part of growing up. That's just life. Anyway, the confession was beautifully done. I kind of wish he thought to himself "forever and ever" before saying he likes her. Marriage from high school relationships are pretty rare, but he obviously loves spending time with her and there's no better way to do more of that than a relationship and possibly into marriage down the line. | OK! This is it! ONE MORE AFTER THIS! OMG! IM SO SCARED! im watching the intro currently I got to excited and started writing! Ok ok ok ok ok ok This is show is lulling all of us to biting a BIG BAIT COZY SHOW! BUT IN REALITY ITS GONNA BE MASSIVE DRAMA I CAN SEE IT! ITS A TRAP! ima stay though this is nice! SUMMER vacation! I love Japanese festivals, and their love to just LEAN in 100% into them. And anime show cases the such amazing points in them that it makes you want to be a part of the whole process. One of these process is one that I have a hard time relating to. Companionship! And a country like Japan well, community is what makes those festivals so Festive. And you can see one of the characters having a hard time, blending in, so to speak. Subaru, she feels as though there is a distance between them and the group is nesseary, because she thinks that (very relatabliy) might ruin the atmosphere. But in thinking of a way to NOT ruin it, by distancing herself, she ends up bringing attention to herself, and THE WHOLE GROUP will lend a helping hand as a result. This is also true in real life... fortunately. Of course, waguri noticing this helped subaru come completely clean and honest with the group. I love that this show teases the miscommunication happening, or some trivial thing might ball up and hurt the whole group. But it ends up fixing it right then and there. It feels refreshing to see that, BUT like I stated earlier, its a trap man. OK! THE BALL JUST DROPPED WTF. THAT WAS FASTER THAN THE TRAIN IN CHINA HOLY SHIT! Rintaru I KNOW WE MOVING FAST BUD BUT HOLY MOLLY! Ok, she's (waguri) is looking forward to spending as much time as possible with him and the others. Which will open so many OPPORTUNITIES for them to hangout! BUT DEAR GOD THAT MIGHT HAVE DERAILED WAGURI'S ENTIRE PLAN! IS IT GONNA BE AWKWARD ASF NEXT EPISODE? FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK! My mention of the festival is just to make a link about the communion sense I get from it, nothing more. Rating time: Plot: 10/10 Summer Vaca Theme: 10/10 Opening-up...(DAMN IT DUDE) Characters: 10/10 I felt really relatable to Subaru but I feel really bad for Waguri, dog OST: 10/10 Very calming... very OverAll: 10/10 I love it, I love rom-com animes. | Figured there had to be something like this quite early on in the story, for this to be considered one of the best romance manga. I've been enjoying the show so far, but I've had a har time seeing exactly what it is that sets this story apart from all the other good romance stories out there. Hopefully this is the start of what makes everyone think so highly of this story. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this all pans out next week. Fingers crossed that this isn't the type of story to just go back on it right away. Depending on how the season finale goes, I might just have to pick up the manga myself. |
| Wholesome and heartwarming of an episode. It's amazing to how each character has their own growth, maybe some more spotlight on Usami and Yorita would be nice too. It's frustrating when people think it's cringe, "nobody talks like that" shenanigans. Like so do many other animes, games, movies. I don't think we watch media just to feel a realistic experience. If you want that, go outside, go to a park, mall or something. If you don't like the episode, make a constructive review about it about how you expected something else or how you'd change it. Don't bundle it up and say it's cringe/weird. Such a lazy emotion. |

| Subaru's stuff felt more boring than I thought. imo, the pacing for Subaru's trauma in this episode felt way way too slow, and they failed to make me care about Subaru's problems, especially in this episode. But one thing is for sure, everything changed since Saku kicked water at Subaru lol. Saku x Subaru is too interesting to follow compared to the main couple, imo. WOAH WOAH WOAH, that confession came out of nowhere lol. I thought it would be an impactful confession, but it just doesn't work for me. I love the expressions on Waguri and Rintarou's faces when that confession happened. I hope Waguri can confess her feelings out loud to Rintarou, but I hope it doesn't happen the same way as Rintarou's confession lol. I hope it can be more impactful than Rintarou's. |
| Rintarou and Kaoruko's dynamic is the star attraction but the dynamics between everyone else in the group are amazing too. I could watch Kaoruko and Usami be fellow food gremlins for hours and not get bored lol Receiving a donut from Saku speaks volumes about how he thinks of you. Hope we see more of him and Subaru soon! |

Incredible! We've finally reached the long-awaited moment of Rintaro's confession. It's simply one of the most beautiful and natural relationships I've ever seen. The way they both express so much in so few words is pure poetry. It's impossible to categorize this chapter other than "unbeatable." It will undoubtedly be difficult to surpass this work in the near future.   |

| AAAAAAAAAA this episode is truly bad for the heart (as if every episode is not). Those little moments with Saku and Subaru making me smile throughout the episode and then Rintaro just pulled the trigger at the end with his confession, are you kidding me I almost died from excitement hahaha! I can't wait for the finale, how will Kaoruko respond to this?? But I also don't want it to end! Season 2 please! |
