The official website of the television anime adaptation of Yukinobu Tatsu's Dandadan manga announced a third season on Friday.

Produced by Science SARU, the first season aired in 12 episodes in Fall 2024. The second season premiered on July 4 and ended on September 19. Crunchyroll, Netflix, and Hulu are simulcasting the anime with subtitles and dubs in multiple languages. GKIDS licensed the anime in North America.

The anime adapts Tatsu's action supernatural manga which began Shounen Jump+ in April 2021. Shueisha published the 20th volume on July 4, with the 21st volume scheduled for an October 3 release. The manga has a cumulative over 10 million copies of its volumes in circulation.

VIZ Media licensed the manga in English in February 2022. The 14th volume went on sale on August 5, with the 15th, 16th, 17th, and 18th volumes scheduled to be released on October 7, December 9, February, and April 2026, respectively. Shueisha is also publishing the manga in English on its Manga Plus website and app.

My only hope is for Science Saru to go 110% for S3 (and beyond) too!

People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

Take me back to the days before MAL became infested with Twitter's favorite buzzwords.

main staff retention is more important than studio name so hopefully this is not like mushoku tensei and attack on titan and even one punch man situation that main staff changes for anime sequels

It feels nice to have a top tier manga get a top tier studio to adapt it for once. Science SARU really stepped up their game with this adaptation imo.

They announced the third season even before I finished watching episode 12 and had time to think about how long I would have to wait again until the next season.

What? Not hating, but that makes no sense to me, since this had poor first week blu-ray sales. Then again, Fire Force and Dr Stone also had poor blu-ray sales, but both still got more than 2 seasons.

@Sleabedybarb I wonder how much they're able to capture thanks to the popularity of selling shows to various streaming platforms since 2020.

@Sleabedybarb This is incorrect, they still matter, but they've never been the main source of income for projects, series with low blu-ray sales could get sequels even back in 2010.
