The official website of the television anime adaptation of Yuji Iwahara's Clevatess: Majuu no Ou to Akago to Shikabane no Yuusha manga announced a second season on Wednesday.

Produced by Lay-duce, the first anime season began airing on July 2. Crunchyroll streamed the anime with subtitles and dubs in multiple languages.

Iwahara (Dimension W) began drawing the action fantasy manga on the LINE Manga web platform in August 2020. Kadokawa began serializing the manga under its Alive+ magazine on the ComicWalker website on April 23. The ninth volume went on sale on July 28.

Synopsis
Surrounded by four armies of dark beasts, five humanoid races strive to push the known boundaries of the world. Unfortunately, the 13 heroes dispatched to the southern region are easily wiped out by Clevatess, one of the Lords of Dark Beasts. Determined to get revenge against humanity, Clevatess bursts into the capital of the Kingdom of Hiden, leaving a trail of death and destruction behind him.

Although the situation looks desperate, humanity still has a chance to appease Clevatess' anger. Alicia Glenfall, one of the 13 heroes, is revived by Clevatess to help him raise a newborn infant, Luna, whose choices shall shape the fate of the human world. Although reluctant to help the dark beast at first, Alicia understands that Luna is the only thing that stands between humanity and complete annihilation.

Hiding himself by taking on a human form, Clevatess sets out in search for a wet nurse with Alicia and Luna. With Clevatess unwilling to reveal his identity, it falls on Alicia to slay all enemies that stand in their way. Meanwhile, the neighboring countries prepare to advance on the weakened Hiden, aiming to control the only forge capable of producing the heroes' weapons. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Are we seriously gonna have a transition straight from a literal war into a school setting? This is one of those "never skip cutscene" moments.

GREAT, HOPE THEY IMPROVE THE ANIMATION, THE VOICE ACTORS AND THE STORY IS CARRYING HARD THE SHOW FOR ME, AND HOPE IT'S A COMPLETE ADAPTION AND THE AUTHOR DOES NOT DRAG IT ON!!! THE STORY SHOULD COMPLETE WITHIN CONTENT OF 4 TO 5 SEASON OR BECAME A WORLD CLASS MASTER PIECE!!! BOTH WAY IS FINE WITH ME BECAUSE I WILL ALWAYS COMPLETE MY SHOWS

@RobertBobert It's pretty entertaining the world and mysteries around it are interesting and apparently the manga is in its final arc currently so it might get a complete adaptation

@yamiyugi101 Does this actually feature Yuichi Nakamura as the male lead? Or is this mostly a one-woman action MC show?

@RobertBobert oh definitely 100% he's the lead it seems like the creator took his ADHD medication since darker than black

@yamiyugi101 I've been wanting to watch DtB for a long time, but were there any problems with MC?

@RobertBobert no the MC was great it was just the anime badly adapted the second season and the manga isn't translated anywhere so if you went into season 2 without reading the Gaiden side story everything will be utterly confusing

@yamiyugi101 So, if I ever find the motivation to start this, should I stick with the first season first?

@RobertBobert the first seasons ending is alright enough the problem is season 2 makes no sense because they cut the entire arc in between seasons that bridged them together so it's very confusing and unfocused I think the OVA for season 2adapted the gaiden story but I'm not 100%

@yamiyugi101 Reminds me of the rumors that the first Spice and Wolf adaptation failed because the studio cut a major arc and realized too late why it would break the plot going forward.

@yamiyugi101 Well, let's hope that in a time when it's harder for people to not get a sequel than to get one, this won't happen again. Although, in the case of Oshi no Ko, I'm still naively hoping for the original anime ending.

@yamiyugi101 It's so true, lmao. Well, I'll put it next to Necronomico and other shows I didn't have time to watch over the summer.

@yamiyugi101 I could go for a walk or something, but for the last couple of years, most of the summer has felt like that planet with the burning sun from The Chronicles of Riddick.

Awesome news! Season 1 was fantastic. It adapted the story faithfully and with enough care. I didn't expect it to be that good. Hopefully Season 2 will be the same, or even better. ;)
