Lmao, what an episode of job experience for Iori. They really tried to make him look like a fool although I guess his lack of common sense reached peak again.

Sakurako is also hilarious to see in this. She might be somewhat of a masochist? Either way, she bought out the humor in her personality again. Not sure about how that blonde guy but this episode was just full of humor again.

Another week of Grand Blue! Finally, we’re back to diving! Right?

I feel like the anime is gradually returning to its level! I’m still sad that Azusa and Tokikoto don’t appear enough.

I want a special episode just for them! Do you agree with me?

Lmao Sakurako is hilarious. It's been only one episode but I already love Iori and her banter. It's almost like they're really good pals. Also, "Busujima"? That's a "unique" name.

Wait, Naomi is a guy?! Pretty sure the VA is female. So, it's a trap then? That feels crazy to see in current year. Don't remember the last time I watched an anime that had this type of character. Anyway, a sincere character like him almost seems out of place in this anime lol. But I'm loving the addition of these two new characters in the cast. Makes things very refreshing.

Kohei already forgot about Sakurako lmfao. Good for him. No need to remember that bitch and such a shitty memory.

The new character dynamics are already pretty fun and refreshing. It's funny how Aina thinks Sakurako and Iori have a thing together. Classic misunderstanding. And Naomi is actually interested in Iori of all people... Things just got more complicated and crazier. This episode was so great. I really wanna see where things go from here.

Unlike Busujima's personality, this episode is rich and elegant, it just flows flawlessly from start to finish. I've to admit that at first I was afraid about Iori's workplace will become where Iori getting bullied by Busujima as a running joke, but it's actually very funny as Iori also fight back in his own way. The only thing that bother me is that I can't identify Naomi Otoya's biological sex. I'm very suspicious when supposedly male characters are voiced by female voice actress.

This we got Otoya who might be the cutest and purest of them all. He's a guy though.

Sakurako basically the female version of the scum bros she gets along quite well with Iori in a way. Cakey jealous when Sakurako is actually going for Otoya. Otoya is kinda like Chisa they both really like diving. The thing is sorry Chisa and Sakurako, the one Otoya loves is Iori lol. Sakurako said she'll kill Iori if Otoya falls for one of the girls but what now that Otoya has fallen for Iori hahaha. She first got rejected by Kohei but now she lost to Iori. She also had her confidence lowered by the two absolute champs of GB Azusa and Nanaka. Her confidence might shatter after this.

My favorite part though might be Iori destorted commen sense after PAB. No clothes of course and gotta light the water to check if it's actually water.

If Otoya is bi maybe Sakurako still has a chance. I also wonder if Otoya will get along with Azusa? he might get along with Azusa since she's also Bi and she thinks Iori is bi so I wonder if she'll ship Otoya and Iori? Or will she tell him that sorry Iori loves Kohei

Also will Chisa tell Otoya she's technically Iori's girlfriend?

Craziest plot twist in all of history. Then again, it's nothing surprising by Grand Blue Dreaming standards. So Naomi turned out to be into Iori, huh? Well, unfortunately for you, buddy, Iori’s straight, and he already has a girlfriend, so yeah, haha.

That aside, I’m loving the weird dynamic between Iori and Sakurako so far. I especially loved when Ania called her out on what she was doing, with both of them completely misunderstanding each other, Ania thinks Sakurako’s into Iori, while Sakurako thinks Ania’s into Naomi, haha.

This episode makes me remember why I really enjoyed Busujima's character in the manga. Her banter and chemistry with Iori is top notch. She's got the mouth and edge of a scumbro but with the looks to match any of the girls in the diving club.

A really funny episode, with all the dynamics between Iori and Sakurako. Happy that Iori finally found a male "normal" friend, has the older one, he needs to keep him in the good track.

It was really cute to see Naomi fanboying over diving with Chisa, they certainly will get along well. But I'm sure Chisa wasn't expecting that question from Naomi at the end, asking if Iori had a partner. It was clear throughout the episode that Naomi was clearly interested in Iori, but I'm not sure if it's romantically or more in a (close) friendship way, but I suppose that will clear out next episode.

One of the best episodes of the season so far! Really excited for the next episode!

I generally really like Grand Blue's humor and it always puts a smile on my face, but when Iori tried to light the water on fire, I actually burst out laughing. This is really rare even with Grand Blue or Kono Suba, I really loved this episode, probably my second or 3. favorite of this season :)

I'm surprised at how Sakurako ended up being not as unlikable in her reintroduction as expected. I mean yeah, her personality is pretty yikesy, but the dynamic she has with Iori is stupidly fun.

Great ep

Sakurako and Iori really got a questionable relationship.

Otoya is such an interesting character.

Sakurako likes him but makes it harder for herself. Is she dumb?

LMAO, you thought it was Chisa, but instead it was Iori.

Patiently waiting for when this pink bitch Busi gets owned. Yes Nanaka & Azusa oppai superior get wrecked. Kinda convinient Kohei just forget about her, good for him.

The whole episode of buildup between Chisa & Otoya just for the bait at end lmao. Thought there will be love porygon nah it's all Iori's harem.

The pacing of this episode seemed way faster than usual still good though. Go Aina show that bitch her place.

@Sheol01 I mean, he didn't have to be gay, but that is probably the major twist in a world where asexuality is still mostly associated to sponges and such. He could've just been a cool guy that really liked diving, which could just be ace coded, but I was more curious on the diving qualifications and such, since it seems like Chisa could be a Dive Master by a quick look at requirements, since the major hurdle is not the certification exams and such, it's doing 40 dives

@phantomfandom It happens a lot more than we think, especially in anime, I'd imagine in the Japanese. Goku, Luffy, Naruto AND Boruto, Edward Elric, Gon Freecs, probably a handful more, though it'd be practically dozens if we expanded beyond the leads.

As expected, Sakurako also gets her revenge on Iori. Iori ends up getting completely bullied and messed with by Sakurako. But, well, since it’s Iori, he also gets back at Sakurako a little bit, even if just subtly.

When I first saw Naomi, I thought she was a girl. But it turns out he’s actually a handsome and smart high school boy.
At the end of the episode, I got hit with a plot twist — Naomi actually has feelings for Iori. πŸ˜‘

The amount of misunderstandings and plot twists in this episode hahahaha.

Episode 8 of Grand Blue Dreaming is one of the fan-favorite episodes because it really shows off the anime’s trademark mix of absurd comedy, over-the-top antics, and unexpected wholesomeness.
Here are some key points many viewers highlight about Episode 8:

The Test Arc: The episode focuses on Iori and Kohei trying to pass their exams, but of course, everything goes off the rails because of distractions, parties, and misunderstandings. The way the study sessions escalate into chaos is pure Grand Blue humor.
The “Silent Library” Scene: This part is iconic — the extreme reactions while trying to stay quiet in the library are exaggerated and ridiculous, which is exactly the anime’s style. Fans often call it one of the funniest moments of the show.
Friendship Dynamic: Despite all the madness, the bond between Iori and Kohei shines through. Their “we suffer together” dynamic feels both relatable and hilarious.
Balance of Comedy & Slice-of-Life: Like much of Grand Blue, the episode balances absurd adult humor (drinking, overreactions) with moments that remind you these characters are college students trying to navigate life.

Overall, Episode 8 is often considered one of the funniest and most memorable episodes of the series — many people recommend it as the “hook” episode for newcomers who aren’t convinced by the first few.

Sakurako might be an arse, I do love her dynamic pairing with Iori in this episode. Both of them got a lot of laughs out of me with the way they acted towards each other. XD

Naomi is a new addition to the series and he's really kind. I can see why Sakurako has a crush on him, but I wasn't expecting him to have a strong passion of diving. He's got a lot of experience with it since he's in a diving club at his high school and everyone at Grand Blue was impressed with his skills during their dives.

It did look like things were setting up for Naomi to confess to Chisa when the two of them were alone, but he instead, he confessed that he likes Iori. Chisa's reaction to that was hilarious! XD

Aina was also humouring me a lot with her being suspicious about Sakurako and Iori. She might've picked on a target that can give her a tough challenge, but she's not one to back down so easily, so I wish her the best of luck. Happy Aina is best Aina for me!
