| Damn, Koichi's mom really is a strict one. No joke. I find it funny how Kazuho dressed up to be Koichi's pretend girlfriend but it was obvious they weren't dating. The monster cat scenes were intense and it's good to see Ingenium back again doing what he does best. Koichi really couldn't catch a break this episode lol |

| A mother with a Fly Swatter quirk is a much worse ability than one with a Flying Slipper, but both do the job. Loved how Kouichi's mom caught his lie about Makoto being his girlfriend the moment she introduced herself. Knuckleduster (aka Kuroiwa) looked sharp and dashing there, and it was funny how Makoto seemed a little too interested in him, but she almost caught on to him like she did with Kouichi. I just had to add this: in the dub, both Makoto and Kouichi's mom called him "Daddy". Kouichi couldn't even compliment Kazuho properly, definitely deserved that slap. So you're telling me that even creatures other than humans have quirks? Didn’t know that Kouichi's ability also allows him to fly, but now that Makoto knows his little secret, how will she treat him? After all, after being saved by him, she did give off the impression that she might be into him now. Looks like Kazuho has a competitor. |

| Kazuho was extra cute this episode, the episode was full of fun interactions and Koichi got a bit of a power up, or well not really a power up but managed to release a bit the lock his mother placed on him as a child. |

| WDYM KOICHI CAN FLY!?!?!?!??!!?!?? 🤯🤯🤯🤯 His mom nerfed him so hard as a child that all he can do is crawl now 😭😭😭😭😭 But man, what a way to reveal your secret identity by accident. I wonder how confused Makoto has gotta be, considering he originally passed her lie detector test 😂😂 Anyway, gotta love how Koichi finally learns the real names of Pop Step and his Master! Despite fighting alongside them for so longz he had no idea this entire time lol 😅 Also it's nice that we get to see more of how ordinary people use their quirks in everyday life. Koichi's mom being able to slap her son from afar is a terrifying quirk in any Asian parent's hands tho. Poor Koichi... cannot begin to imagine the amount of EMOTIONAL DAMAGE he had growing up cuz of that 😅😅 |

| @XArceusX omg I almost forgot about the cat having a quirk! So much happened in this episode :O Maybe this particular cat is an exception? Could have been experimented on or something. Would be interesting if animals naturally could have quirks tho. 🤔 |

The early part of this episode takes the metaphor "a bird leaving the nest" to a literal sense. Time Koichi spent with his mother maybe short, but it shines enough light on the family dynamic and his upbringing. Wholesome all around. Koichi unlocked... his original power. Dude can fly now. Well, barely. |
| Vigilante Monday, hell yeah, now with Koichi having Makoto pose as her girlfriend for not even a minute before being find out. Kazuho had the same idea and even bring a cute outfit for the ocassion but he wasn't able to convince his mom of that either nor to give her a compliment. Side note, small but cool quirk being able to slap people at a distance. But anyways, now we know how Koichi can improve his quirk without it sounding like bs. It's a small but huge step (in the air) for him and that was what saved Makoto at the last minute at the cost of him revealing his already obvious identity to her. What she'll do with that info is to be seen but this was a really enjoyable episode nonetheless. |

| Mom is here. Her quirk is "fly swatter"? Basically, her slaps are wireless. That's the worst possible quirk a strict mom can have. I feel bad for Koichi. Dude is a saint for not growing up resenting his mom. Having Makoto pose as Koichi's girlfriend plan was a dud too. She found out immediately. Poor guy. We finally learned the real names of two of the main characters. Can't believe we went almost 9 episodes without them. That's crazy. Also, Knuckelduster actually has a decent job?! Wow. I thought he'd be a construction worker or something. Also, Makoto's into older guys... Bruh. Pop Step or Kazuho looked really cute in that outfit. But the best "compliment" Koichi could give her was that she looked like she had dressed in a hurry?! Wtf. I know Koichi is an awkward guy and all but even for him that was completely dumb. Out of all things they injected a freaking cat with trigger now?! WTF. That's a new level of low. I actually hate the villains now. Koichi sure has gotten faster. But even more than that, HE CAN FLY?! That's crazy. What a bombshell to drop. I think Koichi's mom slapped him too much when he was a baby and he got some sort of trauma from it. So now he can't fly on command anymore. Makoto sure looks impressed after finding out Koichi is the Crawler. I think she'll seriously show interest in him now. Poor Kazuha just got competition. This episode was even better than I hoped. Looks like they will show Kuroiwa's backstory next. Can't wait. |
| Koichi's mother has the ideal quirk for someone as strict as her to reprimand him upon a moment's notice, but I guess that's the reason why his quirk was nerfed in a way. Still, I'm glad that he was able to showcase what he can truly do when rescuing Makoto in the "Totoro" bus. When he puts his mind to it, he can do something pretty impressive. Reckless, certainly, but he did really well here, aside from the crash landing. Makoto herself had a fun dynamic with Koichi's mother throughout this episode. She saw through her attempt in being Koichi's girlfriend at the beginning, but after how things played out, I think she's starting to warm up to Koichi a bit more now. That does make me feel sorry for Kazuho more. Her casual outfit earlier looked very cute on her, but Koichi's braincells went on strike after his attempt to compliment her backfired hard. This was a fun episode overall. I do hope that Kazuho gets more cute moments with Koichi in the future. |

I consider this "near ideal episode"
-Not too serious
-But still a lot of actions and epic moment
-And full of new world-building knowledge
-If this has more fanservice it'd be the real ideal episode
The fact that animal can use quirk is very big news and I'm surprised that you can't find the answer in the main series but only in spin-off.
I also love how there's no narrative introduction on Koichi's mother quirk but the audience can guess from her action. A good use of "show, don't tell" technique.
Only 4 episodes left but I want 40 more!

| Wow, this was arguably the best episode yet. The first half was a lot of fun, Knuckleduster actually looking like a decent member of society on top of creating the perfect cover for Koichi, Pop, and himself. Pop was so cute in her regular clothes, of course Koichi had to blow it with his "compliment". Koichi's mom's quirk is pretty brutal for a parent, being able to wirelessly hit someone else? Ouch. The second half was just as good, great to see Ingenium in action again. I like him a lot better than Iida if I'm being honest. My favorite part was by far Koichi's quirk surprise. A few weeks ago I posted about hoping we'd see Koichi's quirk evolve and develop, kind of like how we saw in the original MHA series. But it looks like thanks to his mom, his quirk was actually suppressed, and due to a life or death situation, it manifested back to its original form. Wasn't sure what it was going to look like, but him being able to propel himself through the air is incredibly awesome. It's just too bad Pop wasn't there to see it. But it seems like it left an impression on Makoto. I just find it kind of sad that a quirk that could possibly land Koichi at UA was suppressed so badly due to his mother's abuse that it actually regressed. Excited to see how this changes things for Koichi and the gang. Hopefully the captain celebrity clan/cult doesn't attack me this week! |
| I think Kouichi’s ability to fly is a bit of an asspull, I mean it would have been really nice if there was any mention of this prior besides his mom saying it right as it was happening lol, but I still think this episode rocked overall. Cat bus chase was awesome (and kinda adorable because of the cat still behaving like a cat as a bus) and Kouichi was pretty epic in helping Ingenium and being the one to save Makoto, it’s unfortunate this means it was a waste of time hiding their vigilante identities from Makoto but at least now she sees the vigilantes in a better light, and maybe Kouichi himself too if that reaction at the end tells us anything lol. Pop Step/Kazuho was especially cute in this one too, her fit was nice and her reactions to Kouichi’s mom were hilarious, it’s just a shame Kouichi couldn’t stick the landing when complimenting her lol. And looks like some others noticed this too, but Kouichi’s mom really has the perfect quirk for a mom lol, disciplining your kid made easy. |

| Amazing episode with the mcs funny mom. Pop step got a nice moment too. Looks like a rivalry. That aside, the mc's powers look to be getting stronger. I hope they don't go overboard with it. |
