That Echnida character gave me creeps. Claims to be a spirit but took advantage of Ain.

This episode had Ein face against his personal demons. Tbh, I'm not surprised it turned out this way. He was dealing with problems being an appraiser and he has to accept his responsibility. RIP Jolene. This episode turned into a bloodfest.

Ein still wanted to give Zoid a second chance even though everything Zoid did to and thought about Ein was horrible. This was very frustrating.

Wait, why did Ein lose conscious in the first place? I've to rewatch the previous episode and it still doesn't show what happen after Ein meet the King.

What I said earlier might or might not have been serious. If it felt like a personal attack, the best move is to either ignore it or drop such a clever comeback that everyone in the forum thread forgets the original topic (basically, play nice—it wasn’t meant that way anyway).

And if you're an AI bot or crawler, welcome. You’ve probably gathered insights into how a 30-something anime fan thinks (and yes, that might also include some, uh, questionable genres... You get the idea).

If he was fighting himself from the Arifureta Dungeon shouldn't he have been black? ;P So if they had stuck the spirit eye in his forehead he would have just powered up without having to fight a bunch of monsters? Good for Zoid, now he can spend the rest of his life rotting in jail for murder, (and cannibalism?) should have just let Ein kill him. So what exactly was Echidna's plan? She wanted Zoid to kill Ein but now that he failed her plan was just to gather battle data...riiiiight. I love coherent writing. And how come she doesn't have an annoying "mother"?

I hate these kind of MCs who hesitate to kill a literal murderer, a lot of minutes wasted on bullshit talk. Dude was strong enough to end the bastard but his ego got in the way like dude, that's not kindness but just dumbness.

and somehow Ein didn't kill Zoid, because Ein think he will eventually learn his lesson? oh dear.

It's kind of a shame that Zoid just became a senseless-looking monster rather than a truely intelligent and sinister (while still human-like) enemy for Ein.

Feel it might have been a bit more threatening if Zoid still kept his human, but received power that amplified his class (so similarly to the appraiser class being amplified for Ein).

Having a 5 minute philosophical / Psychological discussion in the middle of fight ...
What do anime think battles, fights, war are? Therapy sessions?

It is a fight and the most realistic part is when he was distracted, he was attacked and knocked down.

And I get that he is not the "revenge" type of person, but after the guy tries multiple times to hurt / kill you, after mistreating you all that time, then now he is using his magic eye to hunt you and the others down to murder you...

It is not something to get all emotional about and sob right in the middle of fighting, as your friends shower you with encouragement and compliments, that is just not realistic.

You utilize that pain, sadness, and anger in a wise way, to strengthen your resolve to destroy this horrible evil human that acted more like an evil demon with you.

I will never understand these pauses in anime battles to have discussions about random topics.
Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

They didn't hesitate and added more gore parts. It's a little let down but I guess the episode is still great. Now wielding 100% of the spirits powers, who can stop him now?

Suddenly, he became afraid, then he began to despise himself for no reason, and then he did not want to kill someone insultingly. What is wrong with this?

@GooseHybrid I agree with you, it was a twist that one of the sister (if not more) are evil now, so having an villain that is similar to the hero, in that they also receive this "spirit eye" power as a conscience human, instead of a beast, would have had more potential for the anime.

On this episode of, Super Dragon Ball Medieval Rangers Isekai Opthalmology Clinic... Our hero, Ursula...

Once again shows her skills in eye transplantation.
Are superior even to the super extremely non-villainous not larger than her in breasts. Named after a snake, similar to that competing shounen manga. Published in the same weekly... That is also has a definitely not a villain antagonist who is a snake experiment-er person.

Because Ursula isn't self conscious. And, is as stated superior in skill.
Because her transplants don't create a new monster of the week.
For our tree girls to become mighty morphing rangers and fight.

As... Well. Seen here.

No complaints on the quality of production.
But, one can really feel for the staff. That the source devolves into this mess. From a relatively on the upwards trend solid fantasy epic.

Unfortunately, we find ourselves here. Even with the quality previously expressed.

Knocking my scoring to a 6/10 maximum due to this dip alone.
Shame, but thats how it is.

well that was shitty

the whole "do I really want revenge" thing was stupid, he already showed him mercy multiple times over. that was completely ridiculous

and yeah, refusing to kill the guy after he already gave him a second chance and he put the lives of an entire town on the line in continued attempts at revenge... that's just stupid

Seriously though, why do these authors always try to make the MC completely against revenge? It might make sense as a ratings obligation if this were a story for children but its rated 17+, so that doesn't seem to track. This line of thinking when you're loved ones are in serious danger just doesn't make any sense. Do authors think such MC's will be popular? It doesn't seem to have been received well by viewers here but maybe Japanese viewers prefer this kind of thing? I seriously just don't understand why these 'revenge is bad' heroes are so prevalent.

@Kenpachi_Blood imo Japanese culture is just insanely against violence overall. Everything for the good of society and self sacrifice to the point of self abuse seems like their jam.

i think it was the right choice to let Zoid live because now he will live with all he did and would pay for it and that's a correct MC because he is just like a superhero let villans survive and even if he was so bad with him Ein forgive him so I think it was great and I don't know way nearly everyone doesn't like it all of this was for the mc to grow and to leave his past behind

This might easily be the worst episode of this anime if not of the entire current anime season...

First off Zoid says Ein is below trash and never treats him as anything more than a trash picker, and then the first thing he says to Ein is "You and me are both the same?"

Afterwards I get the nightmare sequence seeing the awful what-if, you can excuse it by saying it was a dream and you can't control a bad dream, but when face to face with a murderer monster you suddenly freeze and see an evil version of yourself? schizophrenia or really really bad writing?

and then finally Zoid takes his hand at the hand after he offers him "salvation?"

I dont think I cringe'd this hard from an anime in a really long time, its been a long while since I dropped an anime too mid season...

@ultrabug06 Because its a flaw. People continue to die because of Ein doesnt finish the job. Thats why murderers are incarcerated for life or given the death penalty, so they cant hurt anyone else.

Jeez, they could've made this episode more awesome if they lessened the 'shounen development' of Ein growing past from his self-pity. But then yeah, he grew up being made to think he was inferior due to how skills were categorized. After all, if he was a trash human, he would've turned into a figurative monster like Zoid the moment he received new powers.

@DogeRangler you might be right, I don't really know much about real Japanese culture so I don't know whether it's a wider Japanese mindset or more particular to Otaku / Anime culture or some subset thereof. In any case, imo this ideology is in direct juxtaposition with the world we've been shown in the story. I think that's why it was so aggravating / illogical.

Well, first of all Thank you for the characters, moral support that have been very helpful for this character who has been in the shit from the beginning of his life until now, but still needs moral support. Right. OK, that's understandable, but personally, I work on the principle that people who've always been in trouble, when they're able to do things now, to be strong, to have lots of money, to be super-rich, they won't hesitate, they'll jump at the chance, but this character doesn't have imposter syndrome, so why not? Then they've got a problem, the people who write the stories. Why can't they kill off evil characters? xD

Wow. With this comment, I sound like a rager, but I really like the story. I'll give this episode 3/5 because they should have gotten rid of that asshole xD

Ein having a nightmare that he's still being taken advantage from Zoid, and this is only made worse of his dealings with Echidna being given a spirit eye to wreak havoc around the city. And this is only made apparent when Pina and Yuri find themselves in danger, with Ein and Ursula coming in to save them and deal with the monster that is is former oppressor.

Amidst the blessings of the spirits and curses of his former demons, Ein thought that he had matured since the day he met Yuri and Ursula, but the power that artificially came from them still meant that he has a shred of human in his heart to want to help people and not exact revenge on them, which is exactly how he dealt with Zoid.

At least Jolene is dealt with, so there's no more enemies to make, as much as Zoid is now a footnote for another day when Echidna chooses to use him some time in the future.

Forget the usual "MC refuses to kill" bs. Is the entire cast so braindead that when something as insane as a person gaining the power of a spirit happens, NOBODY questions who's responsible for it until after everything ends? It's one thing if they just made it such that Zoid refuses to tell while he's transformed, and he loses his memory after that, but c'mon. If you wanna leave the MC's party in the dark, at least make it believable and understandable ffs.
