There's lots of topics about how "anime changed my life, it changed who I am" but you guys never give examples of HOW it changed your life.

Let me start with how it changed my life:
Anime women are so beautiful, kind and wholesome that I completely lost interest in dating real women because of it. I haven't felt physical attraction to a real women for almost 15 years. I do feel attraction to pixels on my screen though.

Can't think of any other way anime changed my life.

It means that anime turned them from active and productive members of society into inactive and unproductive individuals, a truly tragic tale to be honest.

"Changed my life" sounds kinda dramatic at first appearance, but really it has.

It's a hobby that I enjoy and therefore dedicate a fair bit of time to. So it has changed in my life, in a similar fashion to my other hobbies.

Anime gave me a community to make friends, and I learned some skills out of it (graphic design). I have a hobby and skills to go with it.

It has many interpretations for that phrase. For me, I think certain people say that when it has to do with how good the storyline is in many anime series or movies, when compared to Hollywood movies or western TV series, it's unmatched.

It also might to do with how certain anime - especially in the Slice of Life genre, has taught them some lessons about life, usually on the optimistic side.

It can also be as simple as people arguing about "Anime is better than cartoons" kind of thing.

The most thing anime has changed my life in some way is it's a good time killer.

I would be bored if I don't watch anime in a bus/train/plane.

The most common examples I've seen of anime changing people's lives is helping them get into shape and be healthy. They'll often times get motivated by characters who train a lot such as Goku from the Dragon Ball series.

What do people mean by "Anime has changed my life"?

It Means that, beginning gradually through the early/middle-1990's... i metamorphosed from a Fairly Average Teenage American Boy
into the Full Stop Weeb that i became in full by the turn of the 21'st Century, and have remained as to this Day...

Can you be more specific about new feti-, I mean, about how it changed your outlook on life?

Anime was a great means of escape from real world stress & hassles I had.

I also met fellow fans online in much greater numbers and much more easily compared to my other, older hobbies.

I don't enjoy anime for the plot. I primarily enjoy it for the sexual content of anime TBH.

For me when I started watching anime many years ago the shows I watched were so good that they made me happy. A lot of anime actually brings me genuine joy, and makes me feel very deep emotions that I don't feel as strongly as when I watch other forms of media.

Anime would help me when I was depressed, and made my mental health better as well. There are some good life lessons in them too about friendship and that you arent alone.

In my case "xxxHOLiC" changed my life by being a spark by how to look at people and World.
For example, Yuuko says:
- People can wish for anything.
- Happiness...
- Unhappiness...
- People have the freedom to wish, even for something with such an unpleasant conclusion.

I was living in my small World, thinking that people actually are constantly striving for good in their lives. But these words and later various experience was very interesting and eye-opening, which confirmed these words.

And her trademark phrase: "There's no such thing as a coincidence in this world. What does exist is only the inevitable." makes me to contemplate a lot about people, about how World works. It affected my behavior. It showed and later experience taught me how to behave with some people, how to perceive various situations.

Of course "xxxHOLiC" not alone helped and affected me, there are a lot of various works, books, which kept teaching me. But "xxxHOLiC" and lots of Yuuko's phrases, actions were the first spark, were the beginning.
I apologize for my mistakes, because it's not my native language.

It's hyperbolic and most of the time just means they really like it. Yes, it's possible for a work to influence something pivotal in your life (e.g. career path), but realistically, if you didn't watch anime, you'd would just be more into some other hobby, be it gaming, films, ect. Maybe anime shaped some aspects of how you think and act, but is that really unique to this medium? You still have the same family, went to the same school, lived in the same places, ect. The internet is really what changed your life.
