Wow, that assitant is that koji guy. And they both went through a time warp. <_<

Well, they did talk and do look similar.

And Nekusa is Ryo..

How weirdd.

One weird ending it is.
Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.~

You know, I found the ending somewhat confusing. Isnt it all just going to happen again?

i think that the difference is that when gawl "remade" the world or whatever it is he did he made it without the crazy lady... so the whole threat is gone... now the question becomes whether that means that generators no longer exist or...? O_o`

Well that was a great finale. The reveal of Koji I sort of expected, pretty much from the beginning I figured that guy might be Koji, they just looked way too similar. Thing is I was expecting a Koji heel turn rather than what we got. Though I prefer what we got.

Ryo as Nekusa was a little more surprising. The headaches were a clue that made me think perhaps there is some connection and I'm pretty sure for a moment in earlier episodes I figured that maybe they were the same person, though it was only fleeting. So that reveal did surprise me alittle in the end. I may have stuck to that earlier notion more if the hair color wasn't different.

I thought the way to solve this was going to be them somehow telling themselves in the future to not go back into the past. But it made my head hurt as to how they could do that and the paradoxes it would bring about.

The fact that Gawl basically wishes the problems away is pretty disappointing if you think about it for too long. It's a very deus ex machina sort of ending in a way.

But ultimately I really enjoyed this show, throughout (as I mentioned in the comments on certain episodes) I felt as though the plot was stronger than the show was making it out to be and in many ways I still feel thats the case. There is a really great time travel story here, made even greater with the twists of the last couple episodes but the show just doesn't quite deliver in the way it could of done. Like for example how Misami doesn't really have much of a role beyond emotional pillar for Gawl. I really imagined a greater part for her to play would be revealed but no.

Generator Gawl is a great series, not as good as it could have been but a great series none the less.

The character art in this wasn't the most refined, but I didn't notice too much skimping on the designs of the generators and animation of the action. I feel like the direction and storyboarding really propelled this visually and moved the action along nicely. There were some great shots, and interesting and creative aesthetic choices: the staff did well with what they had, which made for an enjoyable experience. I think the visuals also helped make some of the more dramatic and emotional scenes more engrossing. Though I think Gawl and Natsume's conversation in the final episode lasted a little too long to have the impact it should have.

As for the story, I think it was presented in a rather unique way. With the reveal of information feeling natural, and the character writing never really stepping outside of what the show (or writers) could handle, it was all very tight, even if the story itself was kind of ridiculous (but that's not really a bad thing). For 12 episodes there was no wasted time and the anime was able to transition between lighthearted comedy, action, and drama very nicely. Overall, I enjoyed this.
