| Since they made such a big thing about Yusuke having to kill the mad doctor (although as usual it copped out on it) it seems a little weird to so casually bring in Hiei to kill Yusuke's problem away for him. |
| I find immense enjoyment watching this episode, if only for the scene with Hiei. Actually, this episode is the reason I watch Yu Yu Hakusho dubbed. Just because Hiei's line "I was worried about the trees." There's something I love about Hiei, and this episode really reminds me of that. He cares for his friends and wants to make sure they're okay, but he still doesn't want people to think that's the real reason he does good deeds. It shows a lot about his character we didn't get to see, except for when he explained about Yukina. As for the reason they made no big deal about Hiei killing the guy here as opposed to Yusuke killing the doctor, one should remember that Hiei has killed countless beings since he was born. Yusuke has only killed a few demons, and never a human before. He's beaten them up horribly, but he never did anything like killing. For Hiei to kill someone here, it wasn't nearly as big a deal. |

| I think that the other videos in the same set as Chapter Black could have been better used by being shown to Shinobu Sensui, which most likely contained the acts of benevolence by mankind. Though with that, there would be no conflict in the first place and that would be too simple. |

| I can see that the bit in HxH where Killua fought lots of random Chimera Ants recycled a lot of stuff from Yusuke vs. Sniper. Also, I can't help but wonder if freckles could handle Sensui alone if he caught him in his territory. | Now Yusuke outran a truck on foot after outrunning a car on a bike? The truck scenes were a bit better but still kind of goofy, and the voice actors seemed to be playing off of that goofiness a bit. I was excited about Yusuke and Hiei's fight but the conclusion felt cheap. It was so short and then it was just Hiei testing Yusuke. The same thing already happened with Toguro but as a major plot point. Here it just seems unnecessary. |

| I will say as much as this episode was great I can’t help but think that fight with Sniper was very one sided cuz if it weren’t for Hiei showing up and saving Yusuke, he would’ve surely been dead a second time but at the same time it doesn’t make that moment anymore awesome. He really doesn’t want to admit that he likes being around Yusuke and the like because I feel even if he likes being a loner, ya gotta admit that he does feel a sort of camaraderie about Yusuke’s group I mean he had known for them for quite some time now it only makes sense for him to view that as a such but again he’s not the sort to be emotional though. I’m glad that Hiei is back to the group so we are gonna get more action from him very soon I feel. |
| I'm very happy Hiei's back, but this episode as a whole was pretty dull. It's official: the territory abilities piss me off. There's seriously no reason for them to be the way they are other than for the audience to know exactly what's going on, and so there's an arbitrary metric or number in place to indicate how well the powers work. Yusuke might've known that there was a limit to Hagiri's powers, but it did absolutely nothing for him except allow him to explain to us how it functions. The way Hagiri activated it doesn't even make sense. Shouldn't it have been automatically put into play while he was tracking Yusuke? The constant need for these to be a part of the fights is becoming grating, and it actively detracts from a more natural conflict. It was a clever gimmick when the new kids showed up to test our main crew, but not anymore. satyrelfheim said: The same thing already happened with Toguro but as a major plot point. Here it just seems unnecessary. I partially agree, but the fight between the two was infinitely more interesting than anything else going on in the episode. My biggest gripe is really with the animation. The truck bit had way more attention to detail in comparison, and the looping shots during the battle got reused too much for this single pseudo-rematch. The plot is fun, the characters are solid, but the moment to moment antics are slowly becoming less engaging. |
