WTF is what I thought as the Ending was over....
I cant deciede to love or the hate the last episode >_<"
Its just unexpected and not satisfying q.q

So the one who lives now is Kyo and Kyoushiro in 1 Body isnt it?
Or is it really Kyoushiro who allready won the first time?

I dont like the fact that Kyoushiros Body is still living, I just loved Kyos ^^"
I would have liked the "it cant just 1 be living so both will disapear if 1 dies" more xD

Yea I'm not quite sure what ended up happening. I think it wouldn't have been just Kyoushiro who ended up staying behind, he liked that other person too much to stay with Yuya. It was probably both in Kyoushiro's body.

Horrible ending to overall good show. Sure, it had its flaws, but it was entertaining most of the time. Guess I'll read the ending of manga just to find out how it really ended.

Personally I thought the ending was good. Only because it DIDN'T explicitly explain the ending. I felt that most of the anime was spent back tracking and explaining things, so the when the creators did the opposite... well... it was refreshing.

I think i will read the manga and find out if it ends the same way.

i hate it when they continue the manga but not the anime. I never read manga nor will i. I prefer to watch it. Much more satisfying. I tried reading baki the grappler manga since the anime got cancelled, but its not not the same.

wait...so at the end was it Kyo or Kyoshiro who stays with Yuya? his voice sounds like Kyo, but then the body looks like Kyoshiro's and Yuya was carrying his medicine box...

Its kinda easy to guess what happened at the end , and its kinda sad for me cause i really liked kyoshiro better then kyo.
So at the end the victor is kyo , you remember what yuya said , no matter who wins or loses the sadness is the same and she would live with that sadness , hence the medicine box on her back , she is living with the sadness that kyoshiro is gone , she is living out kyoshiros dream of being a medicine salesman . Its realy sad if you ask me , kyo is the negative character in this anime but he gets all the spot light , at the beginning he is described as a murderer , and throw all the anime he never talks about or dose anything to try and repent all the wrongs that he has commited , he only tries to become the strongest , if you ask me the producer of this anime was drunk when he made it , he took the good guy , made him into a episodic character that only appears at the beginning and at the end where he gets killed .
So in short the bad guy gets the girl the fame and the good guy gets killed. This anime was one of the worst i saw in terms of the storyline

how ridiculous was that "god" guy popping up and going "oh by the way I'm an immortal super ninja that lives in parallel dimensions so I'll just stop the hell-meteor thing easily"
it was the funniest scene in the show!

now seriously, lame stupid ending to a lame stupid show.

You got it all wrong in my opinion..Since Kyoshiro is one person and Kyo only a part of him Kyo couldn't change the way he was because he only represented a Kyoshiro's dark side. So I think that Kyoshiro is the one who should penance for all the killing. And I think that in the anime it was mentioned that before they "created" Kyo, Kyoshiro had been bad, e.g when they mentioned that he killed Yuya's brother. For me the story tried to show how Kyo were gradually becoming the good one with more aspiration than being the strongest one. And about the ending of anime...I think it was Kyo, maybe in Kyoshiro's body but not necessarily, he could cut his hair and the voice was his.

I was laughing out when that happened and when they suddenly went to fight for a whole in modern day Tokyo, hilarious stuff.

In the end I think they just had a duel to settle things, not to kill each other and that was that, they both live. Kyoushiro goes to Sakuya and Kyo is with Yuya.

It was a bit annoying how 11 years later everyone were the same and Yuya was hell of annoying character

Honestly I thought it was a great show, loved most of it, very good soundtrack and it was drawn beautifully and detailed.
8/10 for me

I personally loved the show as well... that bad guy though he kept getting hurt and coming back... and the whole different worlds colliding i could have done without... Why did that happen?

It definitely seemed like Kyo won that last battle. I mean Kyoshiro is really to blame for the way Kyo is because he was made from Kyoshiro .. i duno why nobody liked this anime really, i enjoyed it thoroughly.. I kinda liked how it was confusing...made me wanna go back and rewatch...

But why do Benitora and Yukimura's clans have to battle each other? After all that shit they went through???

So did nobodu know Benitora's true identity throughout the whole show?? I thought they did then i saw the ending where Yuya didnt know who he really was. lol

So does anyone know what happens afterwards in the manga? I wanna know but i dont wanna read the manga :P I heard they show Kyo and Yuya living together?

I agree with what Leelachan said... that medicine box is a metaphor for all the pain and sadness she was feeling over losing Kyo... my question is tho how does she love Kyoshiro when she could barely stand him in the beginning? And how can he go from being a pervert to being all calm? I guess he surpressed his memories?

This show left me with a lotta questions... lol

It's not clear to me, the red hair could just be some sort of light effect because of the sunlight.

HippyAmanda said:

Because both clans want to dominate Japan, but only one can.
It's the reversal of the real History where Yukimura was killed by the Tokugawa clan in Osaka during the Summer war.

Everyone did but Yuya.

HippyAmanda said:

It's a different story, so it's not really afterwards.

HippyAmanda said:

Not necessarily, it could just be helping Kyoshiro with his daily job, or doing Kyoshiro's job because he was killed by Kyo,

The show is full of stuff like that with people just joining a group with no real reason... so one more wouldn't be a surprise.

So, let's go, the story is not big things, I felt like I was watching a period story, as if they were only narrating historical facts than a fictional story, that is, over the episodes I didn't feel any impact on the narrative , things were just happening and I was just “accepting”. One thing I didn't like was having left Kyoushirou aside, he was more charismatic than Kyo and all this drama about them being the same person didn't get me, the fact was that many women liked Kyoushirou / Kyo among them we had Yuya, Okuni, Sakuya, even Mahiro seemed to like Kyo which later turned love into hate after Kyo murdered her sister and it seems that in the end she started to like Hidetada but on it's all kind of shit for the 2 to be the same person and have all this drama around, it was preferable for them to be two different people or in the end come together in one again. Now about who is the best girl in the work, I like it from Yuya but maybe it's more for la than I like the voice of the one who dubs her and looking at it with a colder look, no girl had much evolution, in fact no character had much evolution in the work, looking coldly I think the most “charismatic” is Okuni. The story was also much traveled although it managed to hide this detail like a period anime, it is an imperceptible detail because the anime is lukewarm.
In conclusion, I wouldn't recommend this anime because it doesn't add anything but it's not horrible, I'd say they're average, score 6/10.

PT-BR

This wasn't hardly anything like I was expecting. I wanted to like it more than I did, and I tried really hard to stay invested, but at best I can say this is an "average" show at best. Nothing about it from animation to story stood out.

It was really hard to be engaged by any of the fights when most of it was shown through still shots. I wanted a lot more action, more slick swordsmanship. I didn't get the impression at all that Kyo/shiro were as impressive as they were made out to be.

A lot of the series felt like it was torn between wanting to be episodic and have an overarching plot. It felt disjointed. Especially because there didn't seem to be much tying anything together. Considering the manga is 300 chapters, and this is 26 episodes, I'd have to imagine this is a "loose" interpretation at best.

Maybe one day I'll check out the manga.

I didn't expect much of this anime, but it provided some curiosity right from the start, so I followed it untill the end. I can say it's different, and sometimes anime that doesn't follow manga exactly can be good in it's own way (think Trigun). This anime is definitely not bad, even the ending, I liked it. So, what's overal? The anime plays with history a bit. Most schoolchildren in Japan would know the referenced events and people, but those don't matter that much for the show as main characters are not historical figures. As I understood, in the end it was Kyo who won, and I kinda like that. It's sad that Yuya had to lose one of them, but I think that Kyo is a better pair for her. I often though of Yuya as useless during the first half, but along the way she had proven to be a solid character; she is a contrast to Kyo, yet during their travels she had influenced him in a good way, ultimately her kindness and persistence was instrumental to ending being more or less good. Being a medicine seller fits her much better than hunting bounties, lol. There were much more peaceful resolutions than I expected, and I'm glad for it, and it's unfurtunate than Benitora and Yukimura have to fight again for no good reason as it hardly matters who has the "throne", but it's just a way to have a good fight for Yukimura, Benitora seems more considerate. I wonder if Mahiru finaly confessed during those 11 years, lol. I'm glad she is well, though, as she was also drawn to this conflict innocently, like Yuya, and also has mind for peaceful things, like romance. This anime had surprised me a few times. I initially glanced over it thinking it was some Sengoku samurai action, but in truth it was a solid drama overal. Things I didn't like were not many. The show was rather even, I never was bored or super confused by the plot, the characters were likable enough, voice acting pretty decent as is mostly the case with anime. I like that kind of older, not too fancy dramas with soul and character.
Hell is empty and all the devils are here.
