| For me this was the best picture drama it was so sweet it made me cry again poor Rolo well even if it was just for a little while he got to experience happiness and what family was like. |

| Rolo is actually one of my favorite characters in the series, so I'm glad he got this episode about him. I wish we'd have a full OVA pre-R2 though that would focus on his surveillance work on Lelouch and how his thoughts become conflicting when he started to think of Lelouch as a real brother to him. |

| okay wth, wasn't expecting this either, this was so good! Way better than the others! This one actually really helps show Rolo's characterisation, how the mundane everyday life with Lelouch and the misdirected love (intended for Nunally) helped to change him, and make Lelouch extremely important to him. He even expresses his doubts and worries going into the mission, knowing family is something he's always lacked and craved, he knew feeling this even as as an illusion/imitation would be dangerous with the potential of compromising his mission. In the end he decides to abandon his previous duty & convictions, in order to allow himself to feel this bond, even knowing it's fabricated on Lelouch's part and not necessarily genuine. I always liked Rolo's arc in the show, and in the end I felt for him and hoped Lelouch reciprocated at least some of what Rolo felt, even tho it would suggest otherwise and that he simply lied to dying Rolo to comfort him. That he had the kindness to do so, at least suggests he doesn't hate him like he says in that fit of rage over the phone charm (I think it's clear he hated the situation and that Nunally was taken from him and in danger, and took his frustration out on Rolo). But I guess it's up to you how he truly felt, but looking at Lelouch as a character, it might be unlikely he did feel anything for Rolo besides that he was a useful tool to manipulate. He did genuinely plan to kill him so that would suggest at least initially he's indifferent to negative towards to him, and only Rolo's plight and self sacrifice may have slightly changed that (ofc still unlikely and up to interpretation). Maybe that's what makes Rolo's arc so tragic, he doesn't genuinely have the love that he fights and strives for |

| Never liked Rolo. Hated him in fact for killing Shirley. So this episode was just okay to me. I have no sympathy for him. |
