| During the episode, Smokey said "Are we humans destined to die, to become food for him?". Does that question ring a bell? Well if you're an AoT fan, you know this kind of line all too well, and folks this is where it gets funny. This episode aired on March 30, 2013, and just over a week later came the premiere of the VERY FIRST episode of ATTACK ON TITAN. If what Smokey said was actually accurate in Japanese, and not just some variation on the subtitles by Muse Asia, then it is just coincidental. I don't know why I'm babbling on this point for this long, but this is such a point I would never miss out on! |

| Okay now with all that charade from above out of the way, I think this episode was hella great. That animation on Kars' hand was brilliant, Kazuma's hand animation from Konosuba the Movie has a nice competition 6 years apart. Also (3D plane) never saw that plane coming but I think it was alright. Kars almost got our JoJo but the madman Stroheim is at it again and saves our hero! As Kars plunges to the lava and his demise, I finally got to hear and sing-along to Roundabout for the very last time in a JoJo episode. I've heard this song for long, and after 15 days of watching JoJo daily, this song is now iconic to me. Lastly, we got SFX sound on the OP. I'm still disappointed why they never got to use it for Phantom Blood, but atleast they used it here! |

| Stronheim has been a prominent figure in this episode. Of course, the connection was broken when he told him about his mother. Stronheim is always there when you require him. |

| since when was there a plane there? how does jojo know how to fly a plane? how did jojo not get sucked out the window when it broke? this episode made no sense but i think that made me like it more |
| Only Jojo would be the only anime where the villain of this entire part of the show has a killer squirrel for a hand and set to dubstep music no less. Of course Joseph did the runaway technique again with Smokey following close behind. Really loved the sheer determination to beat Kars here. Speaking of Kars, he had a lot of new powers in this and also piranhas and Joseph flying in a Bi-plane. Such a thrilling penultimate episode I’m really intrigued to see what how the show ends, plus you can’t go wrong with Stroheim’s parachute to save Joseph from Kars at the end. Again such a thrilling climax episode, no complaints from me whatsoever. Maybe a little quibble about the opening having sound effects for some reason but it doesn’t impact the episode’s overall quality at all I reckon. |
