This is to all the people who missed out on that stuff growing up.

Does this change the way you look at romance anime compared to someone who did experience real love?
My waifu is the most wonderful waifu. Mai Valentine.

We're freaking out that we're running out of time, but to do what? Should i stop and think of that? Is there something i could do to slow it down? Live in a day for once, instead of watch it sprinting by

I love fictional romances and eroge a ton despite being mstow monk for life. I do typically prefer shounen/seinen romance. I do not like melodrama or yaoi stuff found in shoujo. My perception on ntr changed overtime too since I do not insert as the cuck who had the gf/wife in the 1st place so I am ok with that stuff. I still can enjoy a wholesome vanilla romance though. I am not one for tall pretty boy leads as I like the guy to be relatable.

I'll say this as a bona fide romance connoisseur: romance is fictitious, and what we perceive in reality is just plain tawdry.

As someone who has had multiple real life romances, it made me like anime romance more. It's less demonic.

to be honest i used to have or still had anger issues in general
so i feel it was my own issue and pride that i posessed.

but man i really fucknig hate valentiens day
nowadays when you think about it deeply its just way for corporationst o exploit npc for profit but its very annoying to see in on web.

youre right i feel same way about running of time too this is a very different issue all together. i feel like i want to give things to people but dont want to sell it. if i had business id be happy to give people but id be annoyed if customers demanded it from me. i grew up in russia so maybe it is cultura lthing. i hate capitalism and spoiled city assholes i hate starbucks i fucking hate people. i know it has nothing to do with question whatever fuck city folks and fuck people who want to ban guns cikty creates worst people and most irritating subhuman individuals who annoy me because thjeyre very miserable and atheistic jerks

also romances are actually really cool stories but i dont like harem shit its not real romance just fantasy stuff.

i think clamp is best at making romances i love that stuff
but i mock shit like fate stay night itss gay i dont consider it real romance its jsut a boy fantasy novel although not quite so bad compred to its competitors
that said when i was baby i alwasy laughed how all characters are brown haired self insert. rliek it was so funny
almost like the entire world was bowing down to me virtually of course i never truly self insertted like that but its prettyt funny how indivdiualistic anime can be.

By not experiencing it, I feel more longing to it in fiction. Thankfully it didn't make me despise it, it makes me seek out it more. That's why I'm also heavily into shipping [mostly looking at art, very rarely actually reading fanfiction about a pairing] but I don't claim any of my ships to be canon though, I'm not delusional as some the fans of non-canon ships - alot of the the ships I ship anyway have a "self-insert" feel in them and there is so need for me to say otherwise.

I don’t think it makes much of a difference for me. I’ve always treated romance in anime as nothing more than a genre or a narrative theme, so whether or not I’ve experienced it in real life doesn’t really affect how I view it. I watch it for the story, the characters, not to satisfy my delusions or project my own desires onto it. For me, it’s simply another way to enjoy a well told story.

There is no way for me to know that because I can't enter into the psyche of such a person. Even if I hear from them how they feel about it, there will always be a gap in understanding.

As someone who didn't, as of present, I feel completely normal watching romance anime, infact I love the wholesome interactions of the couples and the doki-doki moments. That said, I wish for the characters and their interactions to be relatable, I do like harem stuff too, but that's NOT real romance. One pet peeve I have is love triangle in romance (among main characters), I almost despise it, unless it's presented in a comedic/light-hearted way. I also prefer school romances to workplace or adult cast ones because it's easier to self-insert.

I suppose I do have an emotional hole in m that it fills, on the other hand if you are a fan of the genre, you won't stop reading it when you get married.

I didn't miss out on real life romance, but the fact that the "average guy x literally the best girl in the school" was basically impossible where I live (most high school girls dated older guys, usually a few years older, not their peers) does affect how I feel about those kind of romance anime.

I avoid most romance anime unless:

A. The main characters are both losers

B. It's a "coming of age" type roamnce

I like that it's something bigger in anime or romance stuff in general. In reality it often seems to be so boring and uneventful but in anime it's always like a painting in work. A big event until the first handholding, an even bigger event until the first kiss.
Because most of the time it's unrealistic it's just a nice story to feel warmth about.

I feel like the reason why I love romcoms so much is that I have never been in a relationship. I think I would still love it even after being in a relationship.
If you enjoyed the time you wasted, then its not a waste of time.

I am pretty convinced modern anime romcoms only appeal to the perpetually single. I can't imagine someone who interacted with the opposite sex watch Toradora! without getting a strong urge to go all angry german kid on their keyboard.

Not all "missed out" some just didn't find any good relationship and had to settle with a weirdo said fuck it.
I like romance anime where the love-interests actually get together, and it shows that beautiful relationship is possible in a fictional world.
Girls in anime seem to have at least realistic expectations and are loyal, the boys are a bit too pathetic in a lot of them which makes me concerned for how Japanese men see themselves these days... but at least the emotions in some of them feel genuine and sweet.

Things I don't like about them are 'unrequited love' stories, those are just stupid, and I hate the way they portray kissing it's creepy.

I haven't seen much hentai, but those I saw don't portray things like fornication, touching etc ... it's like most pornography; there is no love and nothing beautiful, only animalistic, ugly mouth-breathing apes grunting.

Not really, watching some wholesome and feel-good romance anime really warms my heart and it's easy for me to consume those than others. It wouldn't be so much different if I were to have such a healthy relationship in real life.

I don't know if real-life romantic experience has any bearing on romance stories.

Speaking for myself, I have never romanced anyone. I'd like to someday. But I suppose I can be sappy and sentimental over most romances.

It makes it better imo. If you have any sort of grounding in reality, it weakens the strength of the fantasy.

Anime romance isn't realistic anyway. I think having an idealized version of romance being my main experience of it rather than the gritty reality of real life romance is kind of nice. One of my friends had an abusive boyfriend once and ever since has just written smut about herself and fictional men rather than trying to have another real life relationship.

To answer your question...

Romance anime has bubbly effects, too-many monologues, and a cute background music. That often pops up up when the MC and FMC are in close up shots.

Unfortunately, the real world only has cigarette smokes, too-many arguing couples, and mugshots for two-timers or PDLs. That often pops up in local and international news.
