Well Super Ant didn't last long, and now I am getting Superman (the 1978 movie version) vibes all those powers and yet they are useless to save someone from dying. So is he going to turn back time? Does he even care enough about blondie as much as Superman did about Lois Lane to do something extraordinary to save her? So yeah why does he care about her at all? He has talked to her what twice? Is that enough in Korea to build a relationship on? Speaking for the audience it's not enough for me to give two shits about her. She should be dead anyway, a hit that powerful should have broken every bone on her left side and turned her internal organs to mush, doesn't look like their healer did much beyond keep her alive. And on the plus side even if she dies he can always make her one of his minions.

This is so boring. So what if the fights are drawn well? Jiwoo doesn't even have to strain a muscle to deal with the "Ultimate" threats that the "S-Class" people fall over for. Where is the suspense? The stakes? He got the antidote for his mom and yet it felt like nothing. There was no pay off, no satisfaction, no nothing.

Nose girl saying she "has to get stronger" is just laughable. As we've established, every single hunter is Jiwoo's b****boy, incapable of getting better unlike our Lord and Savior, Jiwoo. The author simply will not let her get stronger - because he seems to think that anybody being at all competent takes away from Jiwoo's awesomeness.

Let's see how Jinwoo saves Hae-in Cha in the next episode so she could also fall for him.

Well it’s a good thing that Jinwoo came to save the day, and that fight against the Black Ant was something.

I’ll admit that it was moving extremely quickly and I couldn’t fully process what was going on, but it was still quite the spectacle. It seems that Jinwoo’s audience within the show was just as amazed as we are about what he was doing. At some point it looks like Jinwoo is about to get his eye gouged, but at that moment he was able to level up his Mutilation Skill and he just became HIM.

It got to the point where the black ant was cowering and tried to run away, but Jinwoo wasn’t having that, especially after what he did to Hae-in Cha. Nobody is gonna do her like that and get away with it, which is why Jinwoo had to make sure that he was FINISHED, despite him having regeneration.

Man, that was a site to see with the Demon Monarch Daggers, the beams of red and blue light, and just… amazing stuff right there. I enjoyed it and I’m glad that the fight finished in this episode.

Now the problem lies in how Hae-in is about to die and Jinwoo even tried the Elixir of Life, but it didn’t work. What’s he gonna do? Is he about to awaken some special ability to save her life, will he have to sacrifice himself in some way, or is it over for her? Just as a reminder, Jinwoo was able to craft 6 Elixirs of Life. He used one on his mother and one on Hae-in Cha, meaning that he has 4 more left. I wonder what conditions are covered by the Elixir of Life, since it wasn’t able to save Hae-in. Does it have to be a magic related illness?

I’m excited to see what goes down in the next episode!

Wow, this episode was amazing, one of the best episodes of Solo Leveling IMHO, they sure cooked with this episode and they cooked pretty damn good!

I loved the soundtrack in the action scenes as well with the girl singing and all, it reminded me of the soundtrack of Attack on Titan when the girl starts to sing and it hypes the shit out of me, amazing soundtrack in this episode.

@aurora_yuuki Basically the anime made it seem like Jin-woo was struggling during the fight and needed extra power-ups to win. In the Manhwa it was extremely one sided and he already had shown all the skills he used beforehand. Also he used arise on some of the dead ants during the fight (shown on the broadcast and the first time a large amount of people actually saw this happen), which I'd say is pretty significant, but was left out in the anime. Overall the fight in the anime was definitely fun to watch, but when knowing how it went in the manhwa where it was just pure domination and the first instance of him showing how powerful he is to everyone watching the broadcast (which sets up some awesome events in the future), just felt like an odd story change to me. But suspense certainly helps things sell.

@Packersfan11 I've read the manhwa and I prefer how the anime went down because Jinwoo struggled a lot more in it.

The ants were not the best idea for the seasons villain.
Jinwoo being stronger than black ant, destroyed the power ranking a bit much.
That the black ant was so much stronger than all S Rank Hunters was already bad enough.
One hit kills look impressive, but later you will need an nearly invincible protagonist to finish the arc.

but now everyone seems to have been defeated and the blonde woman can be saved.

This was seriously amazing. The fight had me on edge the whole time, that even the S-rank hunters forgot how to breathe.
We didn’t get a clear explanation on how Jinwoo pulled off that skill at the last second, but honestly, I’m fine with the mystery for now.

As for Cha, yeah, that was weird. She seemed to take the least damage compared to the others, yet she ended up in the worst shape. I really hope Jinwoo can do something to save her.

The Black Ant most likely knew that Cha was the one who delivered the finishing blow to his mommy so he got pissed and hit her harder than the other S-Ranks, he still held back because he probably didn't want to kill her yet, he took his sweet time to torture every single one of them and only killed the healer first because he was being an inconvenience. As for the rest, it was a slow painful death that awaited them.

This show is so overrated. I wish we could use decimals because 7,5 seems like the fair score. I’ll tentatively give it an 8 because of the effort put in the production, but it is really just a worse I’m a spider, so what? In every other sense.

Maybe I’m getting old but I really do not care for fighting for the sake of fighting. It is boring, the protagonist will win obviously, and not even in an interesting way like at the beginning, it’s just “I’m stronger therefore I win” now.

Fights are meant to tell a story, to develop the characters, to say something. What did this fight amount to, nothing. It’s just showing the world he is strong and that is about it.

Boring.

So after thinking more about it, nevermind, 7 is more than fair.

I hated most of this episode, but the end where Jin-Woo is trying and failing to save Hae-In was great. Despite all his power, despite killing the strongest monster ever seen, he is powerless in this moment. And despite that he remains composed and keeps thinking through the problem to find a solution. I wish this show was more like this all the time
