I don't know if it's the immaculate soundtrack, the masterful storytelling, or a combination of both, but this show always finds a way to bring me close to tears. I'm curious while also scared to see where the story goes from here. As reflected in its internal and external world themes, Frieren is a story of understanding that nothing is forever and that the beauty of the present is what we choose to make of it. I hope the season ends with all of our favorite characters alive, together, and well, but perhaps that is just wishful thinking for this show.

Farewell, Sein.

Sein is not a boring character, but I just think Frieren, Fern and Stark are way more interesting, so this was one of the weaker episodes for me. Guess the first half was up to standard though.

A much needed more light hearted and funny episode though the end is kinda sad. Gorilla warrior and Goatee Priest a tale of two warriors. I would really love to see Gorilla warrior and Goatee priest together especially since they wanted to be remember forever, how are they meant to do that if there not working as warriors together.

I loved the nick names this episode, the stubborn old lady was a very good one though i actually kinda liked her and her making the gang do chores was kinda funny and seeing them go to ploish a statue had me wondering who it was gonna be of and i was surprised to see Krafy an unsuspecting hero who left his mark, i wonder who that was next to him i hope we learn who it was soon.

The photo Sein has of him and his friend was quite interesting to me i actually really like that spell.

Sein will leave won't he? Damn. That was a very nice bit with the old dwarf
@PrimeX

Having sein leave now seems like such a waste. He only just joined?

Another amazing episode, as expected from Frieren.

About the 1st half of the episode, I must say, poor Stark, he's always the one to be attacked xD
The others were just chillin' and Stark had to bring an enormous boulder through an uphill, Stark Best Boy never catches a break.

Also, the way Sein said "I will reunite with my friend" is honestly scary, because it seems it's foreshadowing something, because imagine if his friend is dead, then there would only be one way for them to reunite...

Anyways, the 1st half was more about Frieren reminiscing old memories, while the 2nd was more about Sein's friend. And honestly, all this progression is making me worry for the worse, that is that Sein's friend really died, since it has been 10 years. Not only that, we now know that if Sein wants to pursue his friend, he'll have either to way a lot, since he went for a town the opposite way the party needs to go, so he'll have to wait for them to resolve their business in that city first, or he'll need to go by himself, leaving the party. Since the next episode is called "Take Care", and Sein really isn't listed as a main character, I suppose that he decided to go directly there, leaving the party. I hope that goes well for him though.
To note though, that his friends name really is quite memorable, the Gorrila warrior xD

Also, this must be the last time we hear this set of opening and ending, they were really good, and I'm going to miss them :(
Also, the opening might not be completely what Sousou no Frieren is about, but it's such a good song!

Edit: Forgot to mention how important it was to see that it is indeed possible to have a relationship between "species", like the Dwarf from the episode had a human wife. Only makes Frieren x Himmel more and more real =3

Show breaks its own setting, suddenly there's photography in the medieval world now, totally RETCONS the setting, all for a cheap and shortsighted attempt at emotional manipulation by having Sein look at the photograph as a memory- and look- he's smoking Marlboros now. At least Ginko's cigarettes looked homemade in Mushishi. Jesus...

You never see anyone with a camera anywhere in this show, funny that.
Then they WALK (and talk) to go see the dwarf guy who has never been more than a cardboard cutout of a character.
Why don't they just have a horse drawn buggy to get around in? Oh never mind.
They stand around and talk quietly. So damn boring

@SuperAdventure It's almost like they mentioned a mage was taking the pictures at the very start of the episode. Funny that.

This series is so well done. As each episode goes by, it's like more and more weight is being taken from off of my shoulders. So far, it's been a truly pleasant experience in a vast variety of ways.

Amazing episode as usual. Love the bit when Fern said that they're a group of socially awkward people, lol. Frieren and Voll's interactions were heartwarming and seeing Sein's face at the end.. I don't think he's going to stick around longer.

Another sweet, caring episode of the pain of aging and the short memory of man. Will we see Old Man Voll again before he passes? And will they take the easterly road to Tur? The glimpses of "action" were delightfully done, my favorite was Frieren and Fern being chased by a giant chicken. Any other anime would make an entire scene out of that, here it's just a passing story, like an old memory where the high points are remembered and the sad, painful parts are lost to time.

Fern and Stark grow closer, and soft plays of affection are scene in the day-to-day scenes, holding her hand when crossing a bridge, walking together in comfortable silence, just enjoying their nearness.

Every episode draws me in closer to the band of four. The story is no longer important to me, nor does it matter WHERE they are going, just the fact that they are going together. I am sad to know that there's only 12 episodes left... what am I going to do then? A manic view of an animated nervous breakdown like Dan Da Dan is not a replacement for this wonderfully crafted tale of love and aging. Who ever wrote this is a wordsmith of tremendous porportions and I can't rate this anime high enough.

I like Voll. Time was too cruel to him. but I’m glad he got to tie up the loose ends at the end thanks to Frieren visiting him. If he died of old age without remembering why he stayed there and protected that village, it would be sad. But it’s nice that he remembered his wife who he promised to protect the village to.

The fact that Kraft lived that long is insane though, not gonna lie. Bro lived long enough that everyone forgot about him being the hero, and he probably forgot about it as well, somehow. I wonder how he’s doing…🤔

dammit don't leave us, Sein. I've already come to love you and what you add to our party dynamic. :(

There are so many 素敵 little moments in this show which tap into deep recesses inside my breast, conjuring long forgotten emotions. I would say I still don't approve of it triumphing over FMA in the charts, but the truth is the wrong FMA was king anyway, so meh.

I had a passing thought about the parallels between Frieren's past and present parties, where Fern directly connects to Heiter and Stark directly connects to Eisen. Meanwhile, Frieren is herself while there's no present-day protégé of Himmel. The OP didn't feature any prominent fourth party member, and while Sein brings his own dynamics to the party, doesn't seem thematically connected to Frieren's story as the other two. I'm not exactly sure where the story's going with this, but I guess we'll see.
