This was a tough match to watch from Michi's perspective. Even with a surprise and determined effort attack, she still feels like the underdog here.

It was a very tough match and honestly, I was proud of how far Michi came in this tournament, especially seeing all her training.

Well, it took a bit, but God damn, the power of friendship is finally here.

Man, a very intense episode, the opponent girl almost whipped the floor with the whole team ... till the team ace stepped in and showed her it will not be so easy. Next week we have a finale and Hiura facing the blonde chick.

Michi vs. Odagiri, and it's clear that the former is being overpowered by the latter to force a self-surrender. And the 2nd runner, Takigawa, wanting to do a surprise move to overcome Odagiri, fails within seconds on the spot. This is all down to the Center player Himeno, which her friendship with her good friend Ami Shiraishi and a long-time coming rivalry, she has to pass through Odagiri first before reaching Ami in the finals.

Every single second of the 3 minutes match time is just as important to execute her play, and Himeno's not going to give up now, which she just could not muster all of her strength to take Odagiri down, giving yet another Ippon to her. But still, Himeno has done her part of contribution, although she lost, it is all with good heart.

The ace Towa finally makes her debut, and thanks to Himeno, perfected the way to take own Odagiri, whom she is facing for the 2nd time, and taking her down the exact way she did before.

The finale beckons...will Towa do the impossible to take down the rest of Tachikawa Academy? I hope so.

The tough part was that the Odagiri girl wasn't tired at the end of the 3rd match, while Tsumugi was dead tired in the end.

Low side view of Towa's OP smile.

Now I just want to see Towa getting 5 ippon and getting a plate.

Damn that was frustrating. Michi, Sanae and Hime all tried their best but still lost. It's upto Hiura now to defeat them all, can she do it?

When I saw micchi lose to odagiri I skipped all the chapter, saw that she beat all of them until hiura.

Girls like odagiri needs a slap on her face, it would've been cool if it was michi but in the end was the ace of the team, the level is too different.

It was frustrating to see them go down one by one, but I did like the realism there. While they worked hard training, those higher league girls probably trained even harder being in a bigger program with a professional athlete coach.

Michi's still got a lot of room for growth with her techniques to make use of her flexibility. But Hiura's talent is quite something. She was able to beat Amane and Odagiri when she was still a white belt for a reason. She's got the best intuition out of the group and a variety of techniques to weaponize it. Though she didn't mean it, but her mocking smile after the victory was a nice little payback.

One more episode, I'm looking forward to it. Even if Hiura goes down, it will definitely still be a great match. I'm predicting that it's going to be a draw against the blonde girl.

I thought it was going to be Sanae's moment to shine... There is no way Towa is going to win against the rest of the team.

Wow, what an intense match! Michi did pretty good, Sanae got totally overwhelmed and not even Himeno could finish it... But I'm sure they'll all learn a lot from this match! Himeno's backstory was weaved in very nice too. I hope she can keep going with Judo in College and face off against Ami then.

That is, if Towa doesn't 1v5 the enemy now! Her match was really breathtaking! I love how she completly destroyed Odagiri. That was so satisfying. Plus she topped it all off with her wicked victory smile. And even though it's not meant that way, it will surely set up a blazing rivalry. Just like with Erika, but this time, probably not as easily resolved.

For next week, it will be all about Towa's battle. I can't wait to see her true power! My guess is she'll take down 4 and lose against the 5th, but it could really go in any direction.

FOUL!  Anaconda kick Ippon Michi in the head.

I thought Hime would do better.

I don't think Hiura can take them all.

Lots of butt spanking in this one lol, motivation is stored in the butt cheeks after all. But man this was a good one, I was thinking for a bit that Michi was gonna win this first round too but when she was in the final pin there was no plot armor or power of friendship to get her out of that one, just reality lol. Odagiri was hell of a competitor too, Sanae and Himeno were both done in by her, something I was not expecting, I figured at least Himeno would get a win but instead she had a very valiantly fought round but lost in the end, still feeling satisfied. I really loved her flashbacks in this episode with Ami and Natsume Sensei, love the showcase of friendship and how good of a teacher Natsume is, some of the things she said there truly hit home.

And then it was time for Towa to finally step in after all her teammates went down before her, I was expecting her to beat Odagiri easily but I’m happy it was a more fleshed out round with Odagiri finally going down after her massacre. And it turns out she has a history with Towa which made her loss hit even harder, and Towa’s look on her face didn’t help either lol, I liked the explanation that it was excitement being a bit twisted due to her concentration during the round but they really looked like bedroom eyes lol, she’s just thirsty for Odagiri in my headcanon.

And now it’s time for the French girl to step up, and honestly as much as I love Towa and our main girls I do not want to see Towa solo all five of her opponents, I don’t think that would be realistic and it would hurt the ending a bit for me, and besides I don’t think there’s time for the finals anyway so I’m hoping it ends on a satisfying note. I’ve really been enjoying this show and I’m glad I picked it up, it was the last show I picked for this Winter season and it’ll be my last to end from the season as well, it’s been really fun.

I loved this episode. I connected with the 3rd year girl as I just returned to competing in submission grappling after 2 years off due to injuries. I felt so much like her trying to work extra hard to make up for lost time and feeling that pressure of coming back. I also felt like the sensei was talking to me directly when she said the longer you stay out, the more courage it takes to get back in there! I have trained in judo, wrestled and coached high school and college men and coached women, and compete in BJJ. We need more grappling anime!!! Please let me know if your know of any more. Here are some of my competition highlights. In this video I hit an uchimata Grappling Highlights!

I know this is based on a manga, so please no spoilers if you know anything more. My theory is that they lose the next episode. According to this site, this season has 13 episodes and they are going against the favorites for the tournament. It makes more sense to me that they would lose next episode because we won't have time to see the outcome of the tournament. I DONT want them to lose because I am cheering for them, but it makes the most sense for realism and it is better than the other two options I can think of. Option two, they win and then there is a montage showing that they won the whole tournament. That would be unfulfilling. The last option is that they win then the rest of the tournament takes place in season 2. This would be bad because the team they are going against is supposed to be the best, so the rest of the tournament may be less tense, but that may create room for lesser known teams to pull upsets against the protagonists so maybe it could work.

GERARA HERE ODAGIRI!!! So fucking annoying. I have to say, there are too many backstories. Would've been fine if it was a double-cour but it's not. I don't expect Hiura to defeat all the other girls but we'll see what happens in the finale.

i agree with above me, the backstory is too much. But this time makes it worst. Hime is like, has 2 flashbacks but ended up losing. After that, another flashback. What's the point is that for. She's too greedy.

I only like the battle, so i FF it EVERY TIME has a flashback ....

To be honest, i don't care about the opponent's story in every episode. Especially in the middle of a match.

sorry, score from me for this episode is ... 4/10
Yay!

That match was so frustrating. I really wanted to see Michi pull out the win against Odagiri, or at least have her lose before getting to Hiura since 1) I don't really like how she was looking down on everybody else and 2) I wanted to see some of the other girls get their moment since Hiura seems to always get hers (it makes sense since she's better than the rest of them, but still). I am glad that Michi was at least able to get a wazari though.

But based on the episode count, the odds of Hiura pulling off the 1v5 without them cutting content seems to be really low.

I hate Michi, so i'm glad she was beaten by much stronger opponent. That was fair enough.
The only one i feel bad for is Himeno.
This anime is too short, i can't believe it's almost finished.
