It was a very fun episode, but I fear that I would be pretty lost if I hadn't already been a huge fan of the games. Im excited to see what the show does differently, and how the adaptation is going to change the way that the story is told, but so far, I think it is a bit rushed.

Huh... I didn't realize this earlier.

But if the humans don't exist anymore... doesn't that technically means the aliens won? cause the fights are now just robots vs robots... Aliens original plan is to kill all humans, which I guess they did?

As such... why do we not see any aliens? only robots... Aliens should be taking over humanless planet by now, but apparently they're not, LOL.

This show is catered towards people who have played the Nier games. It is not meant for people who haven't experienced it at all, and is very confusing if you watch it blind. As such, I cannot recommend this show to the average person who hasn't already gone through the game.

"Phaedon is a Greek given name. It can also be transliterated as Phaedo, Fedon, or Faidon.

The meaning of Phaedon comes from the Greek words Phai, Phe, Phos which means "light" and didonai>don which means "giving", so it could be translated as "he who gives light"."

Yoko Taro himself said he doesn't want to just copy-paste what was already in the game so this anime adaptation will have a new story. I still haven't looked at the staff but he's completely involved in this anime project.

It will follow the game's storyline for a bit but it will have an original story going forward since the author and director of the game, Yoko Taro said he doesn't want to just copy-paste what's already in the game...So this will have a new story.

compared to the first episode this one was interesting in that it peaked my interest to see how the series will develop whatever themes it is hinting at. Haven't played the game yet still but the focus on the inception of the existentials of Dasein in regards to the alien machines is fascinating. Especially on two notes, the first being that the machine's access to any understanding of what they are is being not only searched for but informed by the texts produced by the human species. that is, the existential of idle-speech and historicity is being developed. The second note is that the manifestation of the machine's into the world is primordially highlighted through care. Caring for things is the avenue through which the machines set set free the possibilities of those beings[seihenden] as well as come to know at the same time the possibility of being[sein] of their own-ness.
Can't wait to continue the series.

The incredible soundtracks from the game still give me goosebumps like before!

I was expecting ep 2 would be a retelling of what I've played and seen in the game but surprisingly it's new content!

The gardening machine life form brothers are precious, too bad they died.

I don't remember Lily, I think perhaps she was the one in the flashback story in the A2 playthrough.

Overall, very good mix of new and old content in this ep to keep it not boring for those who played the game, love it.

Aimer op is good too.

Anime is fun.

Poor robot...just wanted to grow some flowers...
2B and 9S arrived just in time after receiving those orders from commander to do some recon.
Still interesting to see this world in an anime form instead of within game.
