From reading the manga, it’s clear that the target demographic is teenagers. To narrow it down, I'd say those around 15, but I think it can be enjoyable for pretty much anyone.

I'm conflicted. CSM is definitely a more mature manga but it advertises characters that are thicker than a bowl of oatmeal so i can't decide.

Between the gore, nudity and mature themes it is more of a Seinen than a Shounen. That is why it was originally moved from Shounen Jump to Jump+.

Majority of watchers will be young males 15-25, but pretty much anyone can watch it.

It’s young males. Csm isn’t the deepest or goriest shounen series.

Ages 18-25 most likely. Because of its unconventional, genre-bending storytelling, it doesn't exactly fit into the shounen genre, which tends to be more or less the same.

I can somewhat understand where you're coming from with the first statement but what does "from Shounen Jump to Jump+" have anything to do with it? Shounen Jump is the physical serialized magazine targeted towards the shounen demographic, Shounen Jump+ is just the online serialized magazine of the same branding.

Unless you confused Jump+ being targeted towards the Seinen demographic which is not the case, although it might be an honest mistake thinking the "+" means leveling up (I'm presuming you did).

Not sure exactly what you mean by “young males.” if you mean younger teens and preteens (Shounen) than I have to disagree, however if you are referring to around a 17-19 range (seinen) than I can accept that.

My understanding is that they tend to move series that don’t fit the tone of Jump to Jump+ whether that is for stylistic reasons or for reasons like mentioned before.

Well it is a shonen. Some people don't seem to get that shonen is a demographic not a genre.

The content doesn't matter, as long as it's serialised in a shounen magazine then it is a shounen, vice versa. Shounen/seinen/shoujo/josei is not a genre but a demographic of a magazine. That's why all original anime doesn't have that tags bcs it's not adapted from a manga or LN. There are a quite a lot of romcom and SOL series that was published in a seinen magazine, such as Non Non Biyori, K-On, Kaguya-sama, Dress up Darling, Solanin, Grand Blue, etc.

Except for children, anyone can watch it but it's mostly going to appeal to teenagers and very young adults.

It's more of a seinen so this is why it moved to SHONEN Jump to SHONEN Jump Plus? xD

This guy is a troll, don't take him seriously, watch either of the trailers and it's obvious this shouldn't be shown to an 8 year old.

Suitable for male teenagers or adults

Friends are nothing more than the people who you spend the fun, yet meaningless times with. When those times get rough, they aren’t there to support you.

Stop trying to devalue a valid discussion for the sake of technicality. It's clear that people are using the popular understanding of the words that everyone, including you, can understand. People are having a deeper discussion than technical magazine demographic and are therefore looking deeper into the concept than you are while you're stuck on technicality trying to look smart online (like i am lmao)

Tbh Chainsaw Man's demographic looks pretty evenly split for all genders of teens and adults. A lot of lgbt people identify a lot with it as well as women with female characters that are really well written and developed so i don't really feel like its as stuck on a young men/adult demographic as many people think but i might be biased
