I mean, it might be hard to talk about it without getting bogged down in the specifics of what did and didn't work in the narrative, but the gist of it would probably be something like the big flops don't detract enough from the highs to harm my enjoyment of the story as a 10/10.
Sure if you take 10/10 to mean perfection, without flaws, Jojolion doesn't fit that definition of 10/10. Nothing really does (except Outer wilds and monogatari).
But I don't really rate series that way. I use the numbers as an indication for myself to place my enjoyment of certain media relative to media in the same genre. And the fact is at the end of the day, I enjoyed Jojolion as a 10/10.
In addition to this, I think it was a 10/10 at was it was trying to be, which is why I said that whole thing about the lens of the protagonist and stuff. There are somethings that fall flat outside this, like the Main villain being weaker than previous ones, or some side character's not getting the attention they deserve, or some dropped plot points, but that doesn't change my feelings of the main core of the manga.
At this point I'm kind of just restating my review though.
The 10/10 is just a symbol of my feelings on the series. My review is my explanation of my feelings on the series, my honest assessment of how I feel people will feel about the story compared to the other Jojo parts, and a little bit of my attempt to frame the expectations of people going into the part (if anyone doesn't just use MAL reviews as circlejerks lol)
Oh yeah, i definitely agree Evangelion has great music and visuals, even the story has lots of potential, but when i watched the series it started off well but ended up very confusing by the end of it, and seeing the movie was going down the same path i just couldn't be bothered with it anymore
Perfect Blue, i've always really liked psychological stuff, also the way the story is told was very intriguing, it kept me glued to the screen up to the very end trying to figure out what was real and what fantasy
Fortunately, I didn't get ill or anything like that and I'm thankful for that. However, all my friends turned into crazy conspiracy people, so I was basically forced to cut off the contact. One of literally wished me dead because I don't believe in his absurd anti-vax fairytales. D: I'm a little bit lonely now.
Just discovered her yesterday and I'm already digging her sound. Have only gotten around to hearing the first few tracks from Kalk Samen Kuri no hana, and it's quite different from what I've heard before.
Found out about her when I saw a comment online comparing her to another album I was listening to.
Album is called Jikan by betcover! if you're interested.
Eh, there are definitely some tragic moments in Clannad and Madoka but some uplifting and inspirational ones as well. I don't feel like I gained anything from reading/watching NHK. Seemed to me the overall message was that depression isn't real and conformity is good.
1. It contradicted Eren's character various times, for example Eren killed hundreds of thousands of people with the rumbling?? And why would he do it? Eren just said "I don't know why, but I wanted to do that" Eren wanted Mikasa's love that is very clearly, but did he not notice that mikasa was obsessed with him the entire time??? I honestly think there could've been a way for eren and mikasa to live happily. 2. It didn't answer questions like why didn't they show the farmer's face, or why didn't isayama use his "last panel", or maybe what happened to the centipede, what happened to ymir???? yeah and about ymir, she's the biggest problem here, she was locked away from her freedom just because she loved the person who raped her, let that sink in
Sorry but if you disagree about attack on titan's ending being absolute trash, you're just wrong. Think about it, attack on titan wasn't created a year ago, it was created about a decade ago, you know some aot fan's didn't join last year or 2 years ago, no. Some aot fans started when aot began, they have been waiting for a decade to get a good ending, but this is what they get. A story that left more questions than answers, a story that contradicts itself and its characters many times, a story that has so many plot holes, a story that WAS a candidate for modern masterpiece, ends with such a shitty ending.

But Perfect Blue >> End Of Eva 😁
Ok jokes aside, out of curiosity what did you like about End Of Eva and what didn't you like about Perfect Blue?
