Right now we have reached a point where decent graphics with fluid animation in 1080p have become the norm with an over-saturation of isekai. How do you think anime will change with the times say 10, 20 or 50 years into the future in terms of animation style and content?

4k anime maybe? Good CGI? Some kind of new genre that will take over the anime industry?

Quality will get higher and higher. In 20 years we’ll look back at anime and be amazed at how we were able to stand such “low quality”

i think cgi anime will definitely look hella good. i already don't mind cgi most of the time, it's more like certain shots and scenes will be off-putting, but i don't care as long as the story draws me in.

As long as Japanese producers continues prostituting the licensing rights of their works to US based media, we're going to see a whole bunch of woke nonsense sooner or later

More CGI for sure and less creative and interesting stories, just like in Hollywood movies.

More CG is definitely looking to be the easiest prediction here.

More usage of CGI? I mean 2D is old-fashioned and that has been long used by majority of anime since the last century, and now we have advanced technology which studios can get the most of.

honestly, i don't think your opening satetment is true though, fluid animaion is not really standard, the average show has very little in the way of animation, they use stills, camera movements, speed lines and all the classic anime tricks to make you think stuff is moving when it really isn't.

not to say that fluid shows do not exist, but i wouldn't say they're the norm, especially when you're referring to isekai shows that are repeat offenders of this.

you're probably right about the 1080p definition, though i don't find it that important, shows can look better than whatever airs now with 720p, or even 480p.

not sure what you mean by graphics, i guess you mean the art and while that's debatable, maybe it is decent at large, hard for me to say.

about your question, people have already stated the obvious and CGI would probably play a bigger and bigger role in anime, which i think is bad, but it would probably also improve at some point which is good.

i do think we'll reach the tipping point at some point and the isekai boom will end, but unless the insanely commercial culture of anime production would end, it would probably be replaced by a new trend where people copy and iterate upon the work of others in some sub-genre again and again, while some people will like this trend more, others will like it less.

those are my main predictions.

I hope more shoujo manga from the 2000s/2010s get an adaptation like Fruits Basket had.

Is that even a question? Not being rude btw. But I know for a fact anime will evolve and become far better than it is today, think of it like this. All anime creaters are an inspiration to each other reaching greater heights, that's just my opinion tho

In the future, anime will be entirely AI generated, from the plot to the animation. The mangaka profession will probably die, as big anime companies will just do market analysis of the tropes that are most popular among fans and then ask ChatGPT to create an entire anime with all of these concepts thrown in. At first, people will complain about it, but eventually they'll become accustomed as long as the cute girls, the only reason that they watch asian cartoons for, are still there. The industry will die, online communities like this one will die, and anime fans will all go seek refuge in 4chan /a/ board to get nostalgic about the old days of human artistic creativity. That is, unless we add Scott Pilgrim Takes Off to the MAL database. That is the only way the bleak future can be avoided.

Anime is getting worse and worse. And I don't think anime has a "future". Especially considering humans are facing extinction, relatively soon.

Anime will be much more corporately and gov controlled. We will likely get dei quotas and heavier restrictions on ecchi. Studios that do not conform will recieve pressure by payment services.
