Personally, I found Nausicaa the superior film in regarding the plot pacing, character & theme development and lasting impact and satisfaction. Still found both movies majestically animated and designed but just think Nausicaa was a tighter and clearly adventure with a stronger protagonist, better story resolutions and less convoluted plot.

I like nausicaä manga far more but the movie far less than mononoke hime.
