| It depends. Gilgamesh is OP but he is a good character. If you take the example of Satoru Gojo, imo he is on the same level as Gilgamesh. Personally I always prefer the charcters that are extremely overpowered. Gojo is my favorite character because not only he is extremely overpowered but he is so smuggish. I liked Gilgamesh too because of his narsism with his immense power. |

| I don't hate them, but I think they are increadibly boring and worsen the plot of an anime. Gojou from JJK is the most recent example. His presence alone makes everything feel unthreatening and he's honestly just lame :x But hey, most viewers love him, even though he's just the OP teacher trope (at least up to this point), so power seems to be the most important factor for many. |

| Sorta depends. Tatsuya is OP as fuck but the anime explains like none of it or how their world works and most characters in that universe who are extremely powerful werent totally born that way. I dont really mind OP characters as long as the story as a whole is good. It isnt a factor in me really liking or disliking an anime. A character like Subaru from ReZero could be incredibly OP but he just doesnt choose to use it to the max for reasons some maybe good some maybe bad I dunno. There in many cases is effort and the will to be OP in characters that may not be there. It isnt always easy even though it appears to be on screen. LNs sometimes do a better job of making that more obvious many anime just dont. |

| I don't mind overpowered characters when it's good writing involved. And a character can be well written or not regardless if it's overpowered or not. I like Gilgamesh as well.....and also Meruem, Levi Ackermann, Guts, Schiercke, Griffith as Femto, Musashi, Thorkell, Claire Stanfield, Shiki Ryougi, Kageyama, Teresa, Saitama.......etc But I dislike the classic OP character that is brought up frequently Kirito.....and also Kazami Yuuji, Nagumo Hajime, Shiba Tatsuya, the generic overpowered MC from every generic Isekai etc... |

| It really depends. For instance, Saitama has a really bland but yet hilarious personality. He's so funny. Even tho he's OP as hell, he makes it very entertaining. So it really depends on the character. |

| On the contrary. They're too fun. I love watching characters like Anos in The Misfit of Demon King Academy just being able to do whatever he wants whenever he likes. It makes for some crazy situations. |

| I like overpowered characters especially when its the MC. But, I hate it when they don,t or come realize their OPness and remain acting weak. Other than that I prefer the MC to be or become overpowered. |
| I can think of a few examples where it works well, but usually only if it's a comedy or it blends in with the verse itself. |
