Heh I'm sure Chihaya will adapt with these changed rules. Quite a tense chapter imo.

Such an awesome chapter (as usual)! Nishida has grown so much it makes me cry *sob sob* And so did Komano and Kana-chan.
FINALLY someone said what Tamaru needed to hear in a way she could understand it. It probably felt like a slap, but damn, she needed it. Now finally she can grow up a little and be less annoying (Like Hanano, even though she still annoys me here and there - this chapter she did by crying and everything).
Chihaya asking for forgiveness was so awesome. And the ending made me think that maybe Mizusawa is going to become a huge school for karuta players in the future. They won once, after all. If they keep winning and if everyone show how karuta is awesome to their kouhais, yea, Mizusawa will get HUGE. BIG. AWESOME. And Chihaya will be there helping them out. NGHHHHHHHHHH ♥
A-ah, I love this manga.

It was a great chapter. I went into the chapter wanting Mizusawa to lose so that Chihaya could be free of them to cheering alongside the first years as the team came through without Chihaya

Change was one of the themes of this chapter. Nishda watched Mr and Mrs Desk get together and realized he wanted to change too. He changed his style to Tamaru's and became the main support of Mizusawa. He supports Tamaru because of what she means to the team even though she beats him like a drum.

Some are afraid of change like Sumrire.but others like the Empress realize that change is inevitable if Mizusawa is to have a future. Even Tamaru must change. Desk points out that they have been manipulating her with praise and tells not to fall for the lies because she does not need it.

Chihaya's apology was the best. She admits that she ran away and deserted them
The team inspired her to want to play karuta again even if the team is drfferent than the one that she and Taichi left. There is no going back to that team It is gone She can only fight along side the new team if they will let her.

Ugh Tamaru still really bothers me. I'm glad Desk-kun isn't playing along with everyone else, but I'm also glad he isn't mean about it. Oh, man, I'm still heartbroken over the fact that Taichi hasn't come back. I was a little upset that Chihaya didn't get to play this round, but I'm glad her dream of having a Karuta club that will continue after she leaves is coming true :) I wonder how far the manga will go? Into college? Up till college? I'm guessing the Queen's match will be the climax... I hope it doesn't end soon ;;O;;

Does anybody think that the last few chapters in the manga are quite boring? Because I do.

The taichi is the engine of this manga, even his enemies want to see it without taichi , emotionless. To others are bland.

Taichi is what appears to be the typical sufferer character shoujo . It seems to be the girl of shoujo and Chihaya the popular kid to be conquered . She is the principal, but the manga very focused on taichi character , especially character development , he won many people. I do not know if you noticed , but over manga taichi has taught Chihaya to be a more attentive person towards others .

I still think he became the manga of the engine , especially in the category romance, after all, he has loved it ever since and it has not changed , his childish attitude in the past was a form of love , because jealousy is a form of to demonstrate love. It is a very deep character , I liked him from the start because he already knew what she wanted and used the weapons they had .

I think is important phase, Chihaya needs to stop thinking exclusively in karuta , but will not evolve as a person. Addiction does no good. She ran over many, many people ignored because of karuta , left to live other things because of karuta , it was ignored in high school, only after he found taichi has become somewhat normal . Even in studies she was relaxed . As she wants to be a teacher arises karuta as the first thing in life. Look , I like to see her playing , but your emotional side needs to be worked , I confess that I am more interested to see the suouu and taichi , at least for me they are the engine of manga today.

It's weird how people get bored when the manga makes a return to Karuta world finally. It's weird how so many fake accounts and trolls come here lately to bitch about Taichi even though the chapter is not about Taichi.

Knew it was time for Nishida to step up, and I love how he's doing it. Tamaru will fall for him easy lol. Poor Hyoro though man seriously..

Love the theme of change. Everything and everyone is changing at least a little, Komano and Kana are running the team even though Nishida is the capt, even Hanano has changed despite being averse to the changes. Tsukuba's the only one who hasn't changed at all lol, when his he going to get better? I mean he lost to one of the Class A Hokuou first years, but this seems like the time where he really needs to step up. His character is just in serious need of some focus in general.

IMO the generic route is for Chihaya and Arata to end up together. Their are hints that Chihaya reciprocates his feelings. However, it is also very likely that she chooses neither because she wants to still be with both of them. In any case there is no definitive stance, also we do not know how simple minded she is and how she feels about it. It is possible that she has put romance off because of karuta and she believes she needs to become queen before she can start a relationship.

That may be acceptable in terms of finishing the manga, but realistically she can't have that style of thought forever, or she will never get a husband.

I feel that sometimes the fact that Arata and Chihaya don't get to see each other much can work to Arata's advantage because so many things can happen in between. For example, she could face hardships and he does not actually have to resolve it because Taichi was there. Arata and Chihaya spent too long looking down on him since Taichi never had the skills they had at karuta. Would there even be a club if Taichi was not beside Chihaya.

However, I too feel that Taichi has been the driving force of the manga and that it has focused on his character development a lot. It is only natural for more people to have wanted to flag Chihaya and Taichi ship compared with Chihaya and Arata. I mean how many flaws does the writer want to give him. I swear apart from that one girl, Michiru all the people she is in contact with play karuta. Therefore Taichi could only remain close to her by playing karuta. Also how many times have they been in cute, romantic scenes/ situations. There were even people telling him to work hard or even confess. Why is his good luck always followed by bad luck. Is he just going to end up playing karuta which he doesn't even like that much just so he can become Meijin, whilst going to Medical school and be lonely. I just feel that he is unable to open his heart out to the people he wants to let in. If it was not for love he and Arata would have gotten along better. Give him a break,

Also Taichi and Chihaya can no longer be as close as they was before. Since it would be too suffocating for Taichi unless they somehow reconciled and got together or Taichi somehow gets over her. Also if Chihaya and Arata were to be together then it is not possible Taichi to remain by her side like before.

Solid chapter. I'm loving the character development on the supporting cast so far. As one of previous posters have mentioned, the theme of change ties in well in this arc. You really get to appreciate the contributions from Chihaya and Taichi in bringing the Mizusawa club together despite not having being able to play in these matches. Even though Nishida is currently the captain, I like how Kanade takes over the role as the voice of reason of this club. You could argue Tsutomu also takes part in that role.

I don't expect Taichi to make an appearance for awhile but hopefully he makes an epic comeback after he spends some time with the Meijin. Something good should be coming his way, right? Lol

Chihaya atleast acknowledges the fact that she distanced herself from karuta but I don't think I am able to root for her against any opponents like shinobu or ousaka. Arata and taichi are far better characters even tho the latter is a jerk but its only natural.

it kind of fucking annoys me how she basically had to beg to be let back in the team and that the other members didn't rlly support or attempt to cheer up either mashima or chihaya. like yes they had their own problems but if this was the other way around, u best believe, ayase would be by kana's side or mashima would have done everything he could to support every member. idk im thinking like hanano, the entire dynamic was too weird for me. i like desktomu's approach and how he isn't taking bullshit from the new member either. i hope chihaya improves and taichi soon joins them cause it's heartbreaking to watch without their dynamic :(

ok but like taichi also distanced himself and admitted that he doesn't even like karuta. ppl in the community are too harsh on chihaya when she went through similar development as taichi in this period.
