| One Piece background episodes are always amazing, this one was no exception Also amazing how each arc and every new character manage to have a link with the main plot of One Piece, or if they don't, they have a link with a character that has a link with the main plot! |

| I really enjoyed this episode, Bakanky, Bakaberg, and chibi!Paulie, Mozu and Kiwi were really adorable XD. Tom is an amazing shipwright haha, doing everything with a DON. |

| this backstory ep was really cute! The mentor of Franky and Iceberg was really amazing and it was a nice touch seeing some of the residences of water 7 in their younger selves. It was a refreshing and sweet episode. |

| This is a nice backstory! Now, let’s get ready for it to all go wrong and for Tom to die and scar Franky and Iceberg for their entire lives! Everything's coming together. Kokoro was married or involved with Tom and helped raised Franky and Iceberg. It now explains their connection. Further, Yokozuna was taught to front crawl by Franky himself, and Franky was given his nickname by Iceberg. I love Tom’s description of Franky being honest. I think that describes him better than anything else. He is always honest and wears his emotions on his sleeves refusing to budge. It’s probably why his pirate parents tossed off the ship saying he was too much. It was nice to see a young Paulie. I’m assuming after Tom presumably dies, because its a One Piece flashback, Iceberg will take Paulie on as his disciple. I wonder if Franky’s dream is to complete a Franky battleship capable of taking down sea kings. Lastly, Lucci is one of the most terrifying villains One Piece has seen. The only person comparable to him is Arlong. Crocodiles weak control of his emotions made him feel more human, and Eneru was clearly a weak person who happened to get strong powers and ran away most of the time. Lucci, like Arlong, is summarized by his sadism and cold demeanor. “It’s got me wondering about the fool Iceberg-”, “we killed him.”. He’s ice cold. I do hope we see his more human side because even Arlong let us see his love for his people, as if we don’t he’ll be a scary obstacle rather than a more human feeling antagonist, regardless I am loving him. Lastly lastly, Franky seriously messed up Blueno! The guy is crazy strong when he wants to be. Iron ain’t a problem for him, he’ll just crush it!!! |
| Tom being the best shipwright in the world who built the Puffing Tom that saved Water 7 from dying off along with jumpstarting the economy of a whole series of islands was amazing. Him being a very kind and patient guy in addition to having feats like having knowledge of Pluton and building the ship of the Pirate King that took him to the end of the Grand Line and back makes it all the more of a tragedy to know that he was killed soon after that. I'm starting to like Franky a lot now! I wonder how they'll get one up over CP9 though. |

| Kalifa's outfit tho, hawt Nice little backstory of Franky but I also want to know how he became a cyborg. So Tom is the builder of Gol D. Roger's ship and since Franky is one of Tom's disciple, if he become Luffy's shipwright then they wouldn't have to worry about their new ship's sturdiness. |

| That was such a heart warming backstory. Seeing little Paulie, Mozu and Kiwi at the end was the icing on the cake. I've got a feeling there will be more backstory next episode, but knowing the track record of One Piece, I'm thinking it's about to turn heartbreaking soon? Also Kokoro, why did they have to make her face so scary when she seems like such a nice lady, haha. Poor Kokoro xD |

| Backstory coming in. Probably going to have me in tears by the end of it. Also this 100% means franky joining the team But wow this Tom seems amazing. Not only did he build the sea train, but he built Gold D Rodger ship. Does that mean franky destined to build the next king of the pirate ship? Also like how the drunk women and frog are connected. I wonder how Tom dies and Franky becomes a cyborg. I just know it’s going to be tragic. |
| Ah looks like this episode is giving us insight into Franky’s backstory. He apparently knew Iceberg when they were kids and even more surprising is Kokoro who continues to astonish me was ACTUALLY married to Tom. Holy shit, Kokoro, you are an oddball drunk and yet now you surprise me even more with your contributions to the story. Hell she even raised both Franky and Iceberg when they were children. I love that the flashback even shows younger versions of Paulie as well as Mozu and Kiwi to highlight what they would become later in life. I honestly had no idea that Tom was the one that helped Gol D Roger onto the Grand Line and make him the legend he is by being the one to make his ship. Hell HE was the one who came up with the idea of the Sea Train in the first place: The Puffing Tom. The more I see Lucci onscreen, the more he's becoming more like Arlong in that respect. He's so cold and unfeeling as a villain which is what makes him more threatening in that respect. We might see his human side soon but otherwise this arc in question is still going strong for me. |
