Kill self.
Turn off your computer.
Cut your hands.
Go out of your room.
Throw away computer.
Post child pr0n, get the FBI to cure the addiction for you.
Stop posting.
Start smoking, another addiction to forget this one.

You're welcome.

I see you've decided to keep on posting. Huzzah for not giving in to peer pressure. It's your addiction, why should you force yourself to do the things that you do not want to do when you've already found what truly makes you happy? 30 years from now, you're still posting here, as merry as ever, while others are miserable for venturing into the real world.

Rock on.

Assuming this site will even exist in another 30 years. In another 30 years, I would probably have kids and a family, so I wouldn't have the whole day to dedicate to posting on here.

You sound like those people on facebook, only here no one is your friend and no one gives a shit.

If you like doing it why stop.
If you want to stop just find something else to do

Addictions can't be easily eradicated. How do you expect to take care of your family when you can't even take care of yourself?

I can take care of myself. I just don't have a job. I'm 24, and I'm unemployed. I spend my entire day posting on forums on the Internet. I barely play any video games. I use to play video games alot when I was 9 to 18 years old, but I barely play video games anymore. Ever since I was 18 years old to today, posting on forums was my main and only hobby. So during the past six years, forum posting was my main hobby.

Forum posting is not a bad thing. You engage in discussions and it makes you think/learn. But if you think it's becoming a hindrance to something, let us ask the mods to ban you for a limited amount of time ;)

I've heard of the legendary 'off button' on a computer.

Supposedly it makes your computer screen go completely BLANK! I mean you can't do ANYTHING!

I mean it's only a legend but they all have some sort of basis in reality.

I see...

100 to 150 posts on various forums online

even if he posts on 20 other forums (which is a LOT. I doubt that he actually uses 20 other forums, even 10 seems to be too high of a number), he only reaches 2000 to 3000 posts with that. If I add this forum account, which has about 400 posts, his total number of posts is still FAR below my total number of posts.

I have 3,7k here, another 800 elsewhere, and another 3,3k in a third forum. That makes 7,8k.

Our pseudoaddicted person is not even close, even when we take all his other forums into consideration (and as I said, I doubt that he uses that much, it was already a really high estimation).
I dont consider myself addicted, this number just increases naturally over the years during a normal process of social interaction and active helping / help seeking.

I doubt that he is addicted with a number of ~3k post, even if he makes them in a timespan of half a year (which is very unlikely, remember: various forums. You usually dont switch from forum to forum each week.)

But thats not all, if you take a look at the quality of his posts (consider the length), you will find his posts to be relatively short and thoughtless on average. That makes the overall time he spends on forums, formulating his posts, even shorter.
Try to find a post from DesuMaiden that is as long as this post. You wont find one, I promise you that.

That is the reason why I think that hes not really addicted. The numbers are way too low, and the length of his posts isnt too great either.
It just doesnt add up.

i admit da feet yes me lose

i still have your tips saved on my notes, no homo

Clearly none of you guys studied psychology and none of you guys understand the science of addiction. Therefore, you can't really help me out. I don't think there is anything wrong with a forum posting addiction. I am capable of doing other things if I wanted to, such as finding a job. My main priority right now should be finding a job, but I spend so much time posting on forums that I don't have the motivation to find a job.

you want to post more or you just want to increase your post count? because its easy to increase your post count here on MAL, just join a club that has a bump thread then post and delete your post on that bump thread and do it all over again because deleting your post here on MAL will not decrease your post count too

These currents can be accessed by sticking your finger in the outlet that your computer power cord is usually stuck in.

Might as well just throw the hair dryer in the bathtub and get in it if your going to go looking for those kinds of currents.

Well I somewhat comment more than usual, not as much as you cause I tend to do something else so I don't over do it..
I guess you can try doing something else like watch anime, go out or go out with friends, check out other stuff..
Basically to get you side-tracked XD I don't know what more I can suggest :x Sorry :/
