I kinda feel sad for him going blind, but the coach is such a joke.

Apart from the first opening, ALL of Touch's have sucked - consisting of stills and repeated animation. The songs saved the second and third openings, but the latest one doesn't even have a very good song. The studio either had no budget or were extremely lazy.

Tatsuya manages to piss me off... even when he doesn't do anything. See how Minami got angry about not being able to support him, and made sure to see him before he left for the game? That's the way he should have acted whenever she had a gymnastics tournament.

Next episode will be interesting, with the filler coach trying to get his own team to lose... but I still have no idea why no-one has done anything to reveal the truth, or why he hasn't been fired. If two teachers going would allow the matches to go ahead, why keep on a coach who wants to lose? Dumbness is dumb.

I've loved every OPs so far except for this last one. All of Yoshimi Iwasaki's song are nice and catchy... I actually LOOOOVED that pose that Minami did in the first Che! Che! chorus part..

That was expected. That coach is killing me. I want to pick up a big stone and smash his head all the way down to hell. Really!

The coach is a douchebag, him having a tragic past doesn't mean he can fuck around with Tatsuya's last chance for Koushien.

The next episode title is "the enemy is Kashiwaba", but this was clear from the start. I was naive to think that the preliminary tournament would be better, but it won't be as long as he is the coach. His insufferable, and unreasonable "jokes" like appointing Sasaki as the pitcher, going away for a medical appointment without telling anyone, or forcing the players to "practice" while inflicting physical injury on, at least, Tacchan; are old, lackluster, and ridiculous. I also hated when he said that bringing Kacchan's photo was "cheap sentimentalism".

'Unfortunately' his condition isn't even life threatening, he's "only" going blind, karma I guess. I won't hold my breath, but Nishio's return is the best thing that could happen because even though he is bland, at least he isn't a criminal. Oh, the new OP, and ED are nice enough I guess. It's a pity that Minami can't even go watch the game because of the demon, and it's vexing that Yuka thought that it was alright to change Kacchan's photo for one with her.

Coach going blind is relatively a light punishment for his demonic attitude. Like what the heck is going through his mind putting Sasaki as pitcher in this tournament that can decide if they go to Koshien or not.

There is one advantage to the coach going blind:He can safely be stoned to a bloody pulp by Tacchan's fastballs with no danger of him identifying the culprit. When he finally gets out of hospital the entire team can set upon his defenceless body with baseball bats and cleated boots, Nakajima dealing the finishing blows with a glorious home run swing to his bloody fractured skull. And he won't be able to raise a finger against them. Just how he always liked it... Man, that was satisfying to write :)

Here's hoping he does a Kazuya and gets run over by a lorry on the way to his next eye appointment. Goodness knows he'd be doing the show a favour: The first half of this show was brilliant, replacing the masterful Tacchan Kazuya rivalry with some interesting new characters and side arcs which I rather enjoyed!
But unless something happens soon it's just going to be too frustrating to watch. The dragging out of the lead up to each game is bad enough without the coach serving as the writers' convenient provider of ridiculous plot contrivance.

Old is Gold

"Look, look, we can do spinning shots without wasting our entire budget"
"Did you see? Look, it's all smooth and everything !"
"You're not looking, please, it's SO AWESOME LOOK AT HOW SPINNY IT IS!!!!"

The principal is an asshole. He doesn’t even view the Meisei baseball team as an asset to his school anymore.

Yuka is an asshole for replacing Tacchan's photo with hers.

The coach is an asshole for wanting revenge against a baseball club that did nothing wrong.

Oh I guess the OP and ED is nice. It doesn’t have the weirdness of the last OP and ED but I don't like the recycled animation much.

Possibly the most violent MAL comment I've read yet, that too on a baseball anime thread out of all things.
