Private Entry
March 5th, 2017
** - New/updated entries
Note: Entry Anime Relations listed are the ones I completed in February

February Review
I try not to feel overwhelmed looking at these lists but putting myself to this task can get daunting at times. I am not backing down, however.

I watched 2 less episodes of One Piece in Feb than I did in January x)

I completed a total of 6 entries in February--We'll start with my oldest start date first:
ef: A Tale of Melodies - Talk about a Tale of MeloDRAMA xP I loved this series as well as its prequel. A few moments that left my heart feeling so heavy. As cheesy as a story like this can get, the animation was beautiful, stunning, breathtaking, all those words. One part though, I could've done without was:

Sakamichi no Apollon - One of those that will have a special place in my heart. I love my music anime like this, a simple but great slice-of-life story with characters who know how to *play*.

K-On! - I enjoyed it for what it is. I didn't realize there were shows labeled *cute girls doing cute things* and what *moe* actually was until this show. The rock band aspect peaked my interest. It's great as a comedy and the characters are adorable. But, this type of show where 95% of the time they are just being silly just isn't my cup of tea. I will admit, that I would buy their album, because their music is awesome.

Mogura no Adventure - I did it, guys! I found an anime airing between 1917 and 1959!!!! This one was cute, and generally it's fascinating seeing *old school* animation. I'm not putting a rating on it, because I can't compare it to anything else.

FLCL - I have mixed feelings on this one! It is so random, and sometimes confusing, but pretty awesome! I have a huge appreciation for it. I tried reading up on the meaning behind it and there are tons of "just watch for fun" and "watch for the deeper meaning!" but I know as I watched it, I thought, "damn, the producers know what they're doing!!"

Digimon Adventure tri. 4: Soushitsu - ...Sigh. My username-sake has a movie poster, but not the plot or screen time to show it. This video review has a lot of my sentiments--plot devices that seem too convenient or just plot holes, the attacks--but one thing it doesn't mention is the letdown of a love triangle (lack thereof, anyway). Did the creators of this reunion project just lose their spark? Are they omitting the release date for Part 5 because they need time to recover the story to be as good as Parts 2 or 3? (1 was ok). I'm just still bitter--Sora could've had a better moment. ;_;

By the end of March I anticipate Winter season completions at the least. I can think of a few 3-gatsu no Lion puns right now.. I think it's best to leave that out right now. But end of March means end of season depression. That's gonna be a sad time. But it also will mean new season!!!! I need to save that for next month's post, I shan't get started with it this time around. So, 'til next post :)

Anime Relations: ACCA: 13-ku Kansatsu-ka
So, I was crazy enough to think up rules on how to handle watching anime this year. I wanted to focus on watching the things I've been adding to my list. Having MAL and my streaming platforms with so much available for me to watch, it's gotten so easy to pick and choose anime I'm interested in, with the utmost intent to watch later... only to see that anime still there years later.

And it's not exclusive to anime either.. but we can't leave anime stuck in a queue and unwatched! It's going to be different this year!

Here are the rules I'm going by in 2017:

***7 IN ’17 – ANIME VERSION***

  1. Complete as many sequels as I can (includes any works related to the series) ***(3)
  2. Complete “On-Hold” non-sequel titles – Sequels will be placed on this list from time to time if I anticipate watching them soon (0/9) *note: you don’t have to complete all
  3. Complete “Plan to Watch” titles not added in 2017 (exceptions: sequels, current season anime and persistent recommendation from friends) (0)
-->I can start a Winter ’17 title as it currently airs, but I cannot start watching it in the Spring or later
  4. Watch 7 anime movies (0)
  5. I can rewatch anything!! But it will not count towards any of my challenges
  6. Watch more One Piece Episodes than last year (58 in 2016)

**All anime for the first 6 rules are not restricted to watching only in 2017 – The watching Start Date can be prior to 2017;the goal is to have an end date on or before 12/31/2017

So, HERE'S MY #7, in my 7 anime challenges in ’17?

January Review
I completed 2 in my MAL challenge so far! Given the type they are, it really couldn't have gotten easier than that. Most entries are currently on-air, which I look as a deterrent of trying to clear my backlog, but I can't help falling into the excitement of weekly simulcasting.
