Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari

Seeing as how this was actually a forum post of mine when I went on a rant after watching this dreadful series, I wanted to bring this out to the front page and see what you're truly getting yourself into.

This does contain some spoilers, but it will not impact the series in any way. Anyone who has not watched this should not have a problem with the spoilers as it does not reveal any plot twists, etc(except episode 1, but what the hell, it's episode one haha).

The graphics and battles were top notch. However, the entire series was literally a land fill of fillers ... all the way until at least episode 9. Episodes 2-9 were just Kenshi meeting girls and getting into harem themed situations. Granted the situations were funny at times, it got repetitive, dragged out and ultimately ruined the entire series for me.

All the plot holes also tested my patience with this anime. I never drop animes but this one seriously had me contemplating on it. An example would be why? Why is the Holy Island getting attacked? Because of your 'ideologies'? Would you at least take some time to tell us instead of bombarding us with panties and breasts? Also, as would be expected, no one dies in this anime. They just keep on coming back and back and back and back.

Another one would be that the timing on the music is horrible. Though the music (BG music) itself is not bad, the timing is horrible. Did I just say that twice? Well let me say it again. The timing is absolutely horrible in this. I could tell when they tried to make a 'situation' seem serious or dire only to be ruined by the music. An example of this would be on episode 13 when the students of the Holy Island are trying to take back the land. There's some fluffly music playing that could easily be used during one of Kenshi's Harem situations. Everyone is laughing and having a good time even though it's the last episode. Instead of laughing and smilling, at least try and keep a serious face.

I can say after finishing this OVA series that there was literally no character development. The only 'development' I saw throughout were characters becoming tsundere and just becoming an outright harem.


For me, the only time this anime for me gave off a sense of seriousness was when Kenshi's seikijin went black and white and went berserk. That and in the beginning of episode 1 when Kenshi was on the swan trying to kill that princess. Not even the climax could be taken seriously. Kenshi wasn't even breathing hard during the final battle even though Gaia was many times stronger then him and he wasn't even trying his hardest until Chiaia threatens to take away his gems??? What the hell? He had a harder time compressing his sword then fighting Gaia. Mediocre until the very end.

After the Holy island is taken over, for some reason NO ONE cares that all their material possessions, everything they've owned is being pillaged by the thieves and all they care about is catching Kenshi's attention and being infatuated with him. Completely ridiculous. I know this is an anime, but can you at least make an attempt in trying to make the situations they're in at least seem realistic, having some type of impact on the characters?

This anime, barely being able to keep my attention I may have skipped on some points but I'm pretty sure I nailed the major flaws in this anime. Giving this anime even a 5 would be too much. I rated this a 2, which seems just about right when the plot is a complete mess, riddled with plot holes and too many fillers. I seriously can not recommend this to anyone. However, if you're into harems and don't give a damn about plots or character development, then go ahead and watch this train wreck of an anime.

When you were younger, maybe you heard drinking milk will make your bones stronger and make you taller. You drank so much when you were young so you could grow. Now in present day all of a sudden, you've become lactose intolerant due to the anatomy of your body. Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari is the result of this. No matter how tasty that gallon of ice cream was, or that quart of milk, your system will always suffer from intolerancy. This is essentially what Monogatari was all about, the start of a grand journey AKA the ice cream, then everything else which is the stomach ... problems, flatulence barrage and the diarrhea. But for a harem series, it wasn't the worst, I mean Kenshi was a beast, to a fault. While the first episode set a great foundation, everything after was the result of regurgitated tropes.

Now let me talk about the first episode, because it was pretty great especially for a harem tagged show. It set a conflict, characterization was serious, there were mysteries that you assumed were going to be unraveled throughout the course of the show, etc. It had things that make a show good, with this series being 45 minutes an episode, it basically is a 26 episode series, thats enough time to flesh everything out and set up a grand story. This first episode is basically false hope. It does things well, like action scenes, which were pretty damn good and fluid, give the MC some tension and urgency, as well as give decent characterization to the supporting cast (AKA MC's hoes).

That's where all the good stops though, because that was all just a mask to how shallow the story telling is, how one dimensional the characters are, and too much wasted time. Okay maybe the lore was OKAY at best, but it was utilized so poorly and at a point where it only became relevant because the story was unfolding right at the time of explanation. So after the first episode, most of the time spent after is building Kenshi's harem. Although there were many, with how much time was spent on it, you would've thought that the side chicks (AKA the main cast) would get more than just a front. You thought wrong, oh boy oh boy. Now it's to be expected from a harem, ecchi tagged anime, but why turn what should've been action galore into female galore. Pretty sure the fanservice people wanted to see was the action, I mean insert generic busty badass female into a fight and boom, you already appeal to the harem/ecchi audience while still progressing what was suppose to be action and lore dominated series. Alas, the writers seem to have gotten off at their own writing, since the same female interactions and redundant nature occur for 7 episodes, equivalent to 14 since these eps are twice as long.

I mean I enjoy harems just as much as the next guy, the fundamental flaw of all of them is how good the characters are. Unfortunately, every girl is incredibly shallow, bar Lashana and maybe one other. None are developed at all, none have a really good reason for liking Kenshi, and none are any help to the conflict honestly. This is also a fault of Kenshi, he is too strong. This dude might be able to rival Tatsuya from Mahouka, both are incredibly powerful and have no flaws. The first episode gave Kenshi great internal conflict, characterization, and flaws that could be used against him. All of that is thrown out of the window, instead that potential turned into a typical harem king trope. Lack of development of the main conflict also hindered a few characters. Kenshi was just too strong for the conflict to be of any importance, I mean it didn't even matter at the end.

Even more to the point of poor storytelling, there may have been as many plotholes in this as there were females that liked Kenshi. Everything the first episode established, like why Kenshi had the internal conflict (it foreshadowed something of a grand scale) was tossed over the Swan. Things didn't make sense, nothing was clear, except for the titties that were shown through the obligatory wet white t shirt scenes. Get off to that writers. There wasn't really a theme to this show either, like half of the anime consisted of running errands and you'll get ladies. Work hard gentlemen, maybe one day a female will see you and dote over you because of that. Maybe you can climb the empire state building in New York, USA when lovers start chasing you, like Kenshi.

Animation was good whenever there were heated battles. Kenshi's moments were especially fluid, but fights were incredibly shallow as well. Most action scenes didn't involve Kenshi and as a result wasn't as appealing. Did I forget to mention Kenshi is overpowered and we don't know why? Yeah and the sound was good. The OST repeated itself a lot though, like there weren't that many tracks. The opening is really good, I like the aesthetics and the song was good. More titties is not a problem for me. It was also really funny that I didn't realize there was a line in the opening song that translated to "it tickled to my little maternal instincts" and the background is quite fitting to say the least. It was hilarious but that damn well summed up what I watched.

This show is a wreck man, it was great at first but it overstayed its welcome with poor writing, shallow characters, and tropes out the a$$. If you are a fan of harem series, good news, you'll probably eat this up but lots of the fanbase for anime dislike harems. This is a must avoid if harems are not your cup of tea. I am indifferent, but everything is wrong with this that it needs to be addressed. Seriously, story direction could've been so much better, but that would've required a 360 turn from what was brought upon us. I think anyone that has watched this can agree that Kenshi is the king of harem kings. The lactose intolerance metaphor really nails what this show feels like.

Oh joy, another harem series. Read that as sarcastically as possible. I still have no idea why people ask me to review these things. But this one is part of the Tenchi Muyo franchise, which I don't like, from the admittedly little of it I've seen, but at least it's not Sekirei. Although it could very well turn out to be just as bad. I suppose I should say something along the lines of "it could also surprise me and be good" but I very much doubt it. Yes, it could be, but the probability is so heavily against it that it hardly bears mentioning. ... This is Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari, written by Shirane Hideki and produced by AIC spirits and BeSTACK.

Our story begins with the inauguration ceremony of princess Lashara which is shortly followed up by an assassination attempt while on her way to the "Holy Land." Her guards manage to prevent the attempt and capture Masaki Kenshi, a boy from another world who was involved in the attempt because he was promised a way home. His efforts get side-tracked as he becomes Lashara's servant, gets involved in random harem nonsense at her academy and becomes embroiled in a major conflict. In all fairness, there are some ideas that have potential with the conflict. The problem is the execution. The potentially interesting parts get pushed to the side in favour of the horrible harem elements and "humour." As you've probably guessed, the humour is terrible... No, it's beyond terrible. It moves beyond the realm of terrible taste and into the realm of abhorrent. Expect a lot of jokes about sexual assault. Because... Shirane Hideki is a braying jackass. There's no other explanation. Another problem with the series is that it's very predictable. You could watch the first few episodes and guess pretty much exactly what's going to happen. Then there's the issue of impact. Any given moment that would have impact in a well written series doesn't in this one. They'll give it a minute or two of screen time and then never mention it again unless the plot requires them to. There are also a lot of minor moments of stupidity and they add up. To give an example, there's a point where the characters are discussing what they should compress into a powerful weapon. When scrap metal is suggested it's dismissed as not being strong enough. After that, gold is brought up as ideal. Gold. For those of you who don't know, gold (even as an alloy or in ingots) is a very weak, malleable substance. So, in addition to being a terrible person, Shirane doesn't even science.

That brings us to the cast of characters. They range from incredibly bland to extremely annoying. The one thing they do with them that's slightly different from the usual harem formula is that Kenshi isn't a hero who's just average in every respect but the girls fall all over because he's generically good. Rather, he's super-humanly good at everything except understanding people. By far the worst characters are Lashara, who is a spoiled brat, Mexiah, Ulyte and Flora (those three are all sexual predators, which is played up as being funny.)

the art is pretty decent in a lot of respects. The giant robots are well designed, there are some good nature scenes as well. Unfortunately, there are a lot of issues here as well. The character faces are just awful. A lot of the time they'll randomly look super elongated or the expressions will just look really off. A bigger issue is the level of fan-service. Here's the thing, most of us know what the female body looks like and most of us can agree that there's nothing wrong with the human form. The problem is when a series like this objectifies its characters with a bunch of ass and breast shots for the sole purpose of titillating hormonal, heterosexual men. A perfect example is the flight suits. Only the female pilots wear them (which indicates that they aren't even necessary so why the hell bother changing out of your regular, comfortable clothes) and they're cut to show as much as possible. Because why bother with things like consistency and making sense when you can show boobs?

The acting in this is meh. Most of the characters don't have much in terms of emotional range and the voice acting reflects that. Which is a pity since they did get some good actors like Tsunematsu Ayumi, Noda Junko and Yonezawa Madoka, to name a few. The sound is a bit grating. It's fine when they leave it in the background, but there are times when the effects get way too loud for no good reason. The opening and ending music is just annoying.

The Ho-yay factor is a 4/10. And that is for yuri. Mexiah openly sleeps with her female students because Shirane apparently cares more about using lesbianism as a fetish than having a world with sensical ethical standards.

This anime is awful. It has some good ideas, but they're buried under a deluge of unpleasantness, stupidity and misogyny (which could fall under unpleasantness, but I feel it merits mention as its own category.) My final rating is a 2/10. next week I'll finally be free of harem anime for a while, horror anime month begins with a look at La Portrait de Petit Cosette.

The original "Tenchi Muyo!" OVA series and extended television shows are known as something of a cult classic nowadays. Pioneering the infamous harem genre, they did a surprisingly good job at balancing science fiction elements and off-the-wall romantic comedy.

Therein lies what made the original series so memorable: They were actually FUNNY!

"Tenchi Muyo: War on Geminar" suffers from a painful identity crises. It wants to be a VERY heavy political drama while primarily focusing on uncomfortably awkward comedy that never measures up to the sharp wit of the originals, usually opting for fetish fuel (massages that give all women constant orgasms for several days straight!) or ... idiotic dialogue ("I heard that boys from other worlds like being called 'baby boy' by their female teacher." . . .🤨) that makes me wonder how these particular writers ever got hired for this project which apparently cost the equivalent of 35 million euros to produce.

The MC Kenchi is nothing like the original Tenchi--who is apparently his cousin, yet he's revealed to be an artificial lifeform??? While Tenchi was just your average, relatable everyman who was thrust into a role he had no other choice but to be a part of, Kenchi reeks of the musk of a modern self-insert protagonist, specifically of the genuine otaku variety. He's simultaneously an addleheaded moron who is infuriatingly gullible and will cry comical moe tears over the smallest insult while being unbelievably fit and agile and smart enough to come up with a genuinely clever war strategy at the drop of a hat. He's the kind of protagonist that makes you realize that virtually no planning went into any of the series, as his polarized personality is as dissonant as the series' tone and plot.

Aside from their unique designs, not many of the Big Brained Buckethead's potential consorts really stand out all that much. Some of them have some genuinely funny personality traits, but since these stereotypes are pretty much the only thing that define them aside from their obsession with the underage stud, I had little reason to root for any of them to breed with him. And yes, that's a curt way of putting it, but that's how male Sacred Mecha Masters are seen in this alternate world. A male with the ability to pilot a Mechanoid using the "magical" energy (which is known as "aho," a reference to the word which means "idiot" in "Photon: The Idiot Adventures"--so are they fighting with the power of stupidity? Apparently so.) that is actually science is so rare that their semen is sold on the black market, and they are basically sex slaves, thus literally every girl at least secretly wants to get in front of the altar with him to make some legal (?) Mechamasters with him. The only two that really stood out to me were Mexiah (edgy bisexual who apparently sleeps with her student girls! O_o) mainly for how great she looks in her teacher's uniform with her hair tied in that beautiful, curly ponytail; and Aura, mostly just because she's a Dark Elf--a particularly gorgeous one at that, and she has an extremely noble but gentle personality that makes her less irritating than most of the over-the-top tsundere, goudere, and himedere personalities of the rest of the girls. It's easy to see why she's the one character people know from the show: She actually feels like a real person! And her design is goddess-tier. That's the one thing people care about. . . .

For a harem comedy, the political plot is obviously shoehorned in in an attempt to give a reason for someone as unremarkably bland as Kenchi to have been transported to another planet. The animation quality takes a significant plunge during the stilted aerial mech fights, distracting me from the marvelous vistas of the fantasy landscape. The villains' motivations are all confusingly vague, and when the plot flips on its head midway through, there's a weird tonal dissonance where the awful comedy-focused soundtrack doesn't match the intensity of the situation (i.e.: a young woman in a leotard getting burned alive to show how dangerous the situation is to the sound of whimsical trumpets).

By the time the forcibly drawn-out last five episodes wrapped up the plot, I didn't care what new plot points which only added new holes had set up for a potential second season. I didn't care if any villains whose deaths were left ambiguous returned. The entire package was a confusing, boring mess that tested my patience until the very end. It's no surprise why the Director who helmed this disaster has never worked on another anime since. "Tenchi Muyo: War on Geminar" is a poorly written, unenjoyable failure that never knew how to integrate any of its themes or characters into the significantly more fascinating world. Aside from Aura's radiant beauty and the potential worldbuilding in a science-fantasy setting which has been done significantly better in other media, this is a dud that deserves to be forgotten with some of the worst schlock of the late 2000's.

This Isekai, that doesnt have a lot of Isekai but we are reminded across the story that it is, can be divided in three parts across its 13, 45 minutes episodes: The first third, which is the strongest one, we are introduced to the multiple factions and characters in the story in a stream of intrigue and action sequences, I mean Magnicide is always an interesting topic. Then, we transition really weirdly into a shonen high-school romance comedy in the second act, this is where most of the story takes place, also all the goofy jokes, here is where I quickly lost interest, there are ... some moments that seem pretty cool, but is mostly a safe zone, the story doesnt take risks at all when has multiple opportunities, is hard to forgive. The final part is just a convoluted exposition of twists, conspiracies and things that frankly doesnt make sense. It just burned to the ground really quickly. Not to mention the poor OST, forced transitions in the pacing, and a huge cast of boring characters that are never developed, this Mecha is another proof of the lack of creativeness that the industry has had in the Mecha genre in recent years.

I had planned to see this adaptation until the end but seeing what I saw up to chapter 7, I decide to take a step aside.
First of all, it seemed to me like a turbulent journey within what I expected from the program, since both the synopsis and its general score and its genres had me with much more expectations and reviewing the program from the beginning, the first chapter was quite attached to what I was looking for from the Anime. However, it was only that, a "false" premise of mecha and action history to finally end up being one more Harem than the ... generic ones that you would find anywhere. But of course, all this had a "why", and it is mainly due to the fact that this is an alternate universe more than the recognized work of "Tenchi Muyou", hence his justification for falling into the topics of this universe that are the harem, ecchi and everyday life and not much else of it. Now with this clarified, let's analyze what this "Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari" proposes, unlike any other series with the same stereotypes and the difference is ..... NONE.

The premise is developed like any other title of this type that for "x" reason the MC meets a girl, gets a new status and from there begins to interact with the entire female cast that presents the program, which are some more charismatic and others not so much, but ultimately that everything falls back on the usual clichés, the protagonist saves the girl falls in love and the ending is "happy end", thus being completely open to any relationship that we can expect (even if it doesn't end , I already did Spoiler so I didn't miss anything and I was able to corroborate my assumptions).
Despite this, the series can be entertaining in its first chapters and keep us expectant about some change that returns to that mecha fighting action of chapter 1 or some expectation that they will take something more "Original" from the gallery. However this never happens, everything is resolved in a monotonous comedy / harem school environment and although it can entertain for a few chapters, already halfway through the broadcast it becomes really bland and the 40-minute durations only add to the agony not to pass the chapter in order to finish it. I really don't understand what the point of creating double chapter lengths is, if the content itself is null and only keeps fan service as a focus throughout the show. If they had chosen to give 20 minute chapters with OP and ED to these 13 chapters, nobody would claim anything from them because they do not need more of it.

Tenia pensado ver esta adaptación hasta el final pero visto lo visto hasta el capitulo 7, decido dar un paso al costado.
Primero que nada me ah parecido un viaje turbulento dentro de lo que me esperaba del programa, siendo que tanto la sinopsis como su puntuación general y sus géneros me tenían con bastante mas expectativas y repasando el programa desde el comienzo, el primer capitulo se apego bastante a lo que venia a buscar del Anime. Sin embargo solo fue eso, una "falsa" premisa de historia de mechas y acción para finalmente acabar siendo un Harem mas de los genéricos que encontrarías por cualquier lado. Pero claro, todo esto tenia un "por que", y se debe principalmente a que este es un universo alterno mas del reconocido trabajo de "Tenchi Muyou", por lo tanto de ahí su justificativo de recaer en los tópicos de este universo que son el harem,ecchi y vida cotidiana y no mucho mas de ello. Ahora con esto aclarado analicemos lo que propone este "Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari" a diferencia de cualquier otra serie con los mismos estereotipos y la diferencia es..... NINGUNA.

La premisa se desarrolla como cualquier otro titulo de este tipo que por "x" motivo el MC conoce a una chica, consigue un nuevo estatus y de ahí comienza a interactuar con todo el elenco femenino que presenta el programa que resultan algunos mas carismáticos y otros no tanto, pero en definitiva que todo recae en los clichés de siempre, de protagonista salva a chica se enamora y el final es "happy end", siendo así completamente abierto para cualquier relacion que le podamos llegar a tener expectativa (aunque no lo termine, ya me hice Spoiler por lo que no me perdí de nada y pude corroborar mis suposiciones) .
A pesar de esto la serie puede resultar entretenida en sus primeros capítulos y mantenernos expectantes sobre algún cambio que regrese a esa acción de combates mecha del capitulo 1 o alguna expectativa de que saquen algo mas "Original" de la galera. Sin embargo esto nunca sucede, todo se resuelve en un ámbito escolar de comedia/harem monótono y aunque puede entretener por unos capítulos, ya llegado a la mitad de la emisión se vuelve realmente soso y las duraciones de 40 minutos solo hacen pesar mas la agonía de no pasar de capitulo para así poder terminarlo. Realmente no entiendo cual es el punto de crear una doble duración de capítulos, si el contenido mismo es nulo y solo mantiene el servicio de fans como enfoque durante todo el programa. Si hubieran optado por darle capítulos de 20 minutos con OP y ED a estos 13 capítulos nadie les reclamaría nada por que no necesita mas de el mismo.

Save your time, do not bother trying it.
Aside from being unnecessarily long, the pacing is also too slow. There are too many plot holes, and is a stuck up for the main character. The women here are supposed to be warriors who'll pilot the big monsters they have, but instead, they are nothing but regular people that can't do anything but rely on a single boy????????????????????
The development of the story is too predictable it wasn't even entertaining. And the character development was worse.
The plot was loosely written, it was just a matter of convenience. I mean, they didn't explain why the mc is that ... strong??? Plus the holy land arc was really lackluster. How could a warrior inhabited land be filled with incompetent guards?
Every cliche isekai elements were presented so poorly, it doesn't even entertain me. Plus, the female characters were poorly represented, I'd call this anime misogynistic. There was literally no need for them to be sexualize so much?????? And the fact that they were supposed to be warriors??? This is like stepping on their dignity as the protectors of their world.
And don't even get me started about the animation. I appreciate their hardwork animating the story. But the story is just terrible.

TL;DR:This series is a mountain range of crap, an ever burning dumpster-fire, an inexhaustible manure-fountain. It's not just badly executed - it simply does not make sense and I don't think the author has a clue what he was going for.

I've just finished the anime (and I went through with it mostly by utter disbelief) and I think it has earned itself a place among my personal top three of worst anime ever (the other two being Angel Beats and Code-Geass Akito). So, if you - for unfathomable reasons to me - think these two are good you can safely skip this review as ... I highly doubt that we'll see eye to eye about what we understand as good entertainment or writing.

Now, having aptly set a perfectly neutral tone it's probably high time to give a couple of reasons why I'm so complete appalled by this ... thing.

0 - Story:
The synopsis is there so I'll just give my general impression of what the episodes were about.
Episode 1: Introduction (that one is actually kinda cool)
Episode 2 - 7 Hero Protagonist is so cool and each side characters must learn to applaud.
Episode 8 - 13: Hero Protagonists saves the world, everyone else is also there to applaud him.


1 - Characters: There aren't any. No really, I'll explain. (minor spoilers for episode 1 to 3)
1.1- Hero Protagonist: Kenshi is, as is defined by the Genre somehow thrown into an other world and wants to go back. At least by lip service, because it's never mentioned why he wants to go back. He mentions family but never that he misses them or his homeland or his grand plans for the future. Just that he needs to back, despite quite obviously revelling in his new found role in the new world. Moreover he is the worst Mary Sue I've ever seen in any story (including self-insert, self-glorifying powertrip webnovels). Let me illustrate that point a bit: Despite being new to the world he is a competent pilot of robot-ish things (and getting better), the best martial arts fighter, the best endurance runner, knows more about medicine than an entire culture built around medicine man, can assess ingredients in a forest (in a fucking unknown biotope!) better than people studying that for decades and scores best in an aesthetics test, without having had any exposure to the worlds culture. There's more but let's leave it at that. All of this is coupled with characteristics that lack even an ounce of backbone as soon as one of the side-characters admonishes him in any way. I suppose it's supposed to be endearing or (I hope to any god not) funny, but for me it's just revolting.

1.2 - Sidecast: The rest of the cast is at best one-dimensional, almost entirely incompetent and I have no idea how any of these people managed to stay alive in this world to the ripe old age of 12. At the worst they are rewritten at will - inner character drive is missing completely or simply incongruent. Altogether the side-cast is comprised of ~100 mostly cardboard cutout females and one dude of the same jig.
Two examples:
Lashara, arguably the lead of the side characters, is presented in the first two episodes as a shrewd, scheming tactical thinker. By the third episode no goal of her is discernible anymore, likely because the cast is bloated by this point and like the rest she is reduced to hackneyed one-liners. On top of that not a single plan of hers from that point onwards achieves the depth of a puddle on a plaiin under drought.
Kyaia, her sworn knight - and unfortunately the best example of something approaching a character (no easy choice I tell you). The only fight she wins in the entire series is a still picture in a montage. On any other occasion she has to wait with the rest of the team until Kenshi comes to save the day and is rendered useless. However she at least has some ties to another character that may result in actual tension in the story. May. But don't. Without telling actual spoilers: the resolution of this conflict over doubt, temptation, recovery and absolution is a single prolonged blunder and any single moment in it lies beyond even good-willing credulity.

1.3 - Antagonists: These actually appeared promising in the first two episodes. Longtime planners, schemers with deep knowledge of the world, that prepared over years collecting forgotten knowledge and means to put it to use. A tad of mystery as to who they actually are and how they are interconnected. But nope. By the third episode they are reduced to punching bags for Kenshi (and only him), who overcomes any cunning trip designed for him by shouting a lot or playing his muscles (I wish this was hyperbole). Despite ending every single episode where a conflict ensues with being completely defeated they are declared the winner of the engagement by the author (with no apparent reason whatsoever), get even stronger in between episodes (material and technology) only to be overwhelmed in the very same manner once more. Essentially it becomes a "how many times do I need to teach you this lesson, old man?" meme.

2: Internal world logic: for sale; never used.
If you made it this far then I'll assume you share my incredulity at the series and I hope to have convinced you spare yourself from this mess; in conclusion: here be explicit spoilers.
Exhibit a: It's made evidently clear early in the series that the world is polyamourous, male robot pilots are breeding studs, clothing is super revealing (to put it mildly) and everyone wants to get into the pants of either Kenshi and/or Mexiah. Nonetheless every female character is super flustered if seen naked or close to someone.
Exhibit b: At some point the troupe searches for a big mass of stone to compress it into a sword. While flying through a kilometer long canyon. With stone cliffs. Behind the culturally significant monument they finally settle for you have a picturesque panorama of grey mountains.
Exhibit c: Same episode/same situation: they compress the mountain and have to hold it up in the air for the entire time. Because laying the thing carefully on its side is an impossible task, since it would sink into the ground. Until, you know... they are done and they put it on its side in their airship-flying-mountain-thingy. (They actually have a McGuffin to cancel the weight, but it fails naturally and it doesn't result in breaking the ship apart).
Exhibit d: same episode/same situation again: In all of the early episodes Kenshi and to an extent the other pilots as well are shown to be quite agile, dodging all (a lot) of the attacks meant for them. (Influding naturally machine gun fire from behind while running in a mostly straight line without cover). While the team is holding up the mountain for two days they are ambushed by an enemy force vastly outnumbering them. Unloading the Isekai-equivalent of 500 freedoms per second into 4 stationary targets. Who tank said assault without any mechanical damage.
Exhibit e: Early on it is mentioned that the robot-thingies are the primary and almost exclusive form of warfare in the world (until, quite naturally, they aren't). Several places have high-density defense systems built to supposedly thwart just such an assault. Only that these oodles of cannons are not capable of even putting a single scratch into one single robot or even distract them in a meaningful way.

but... let's just wrap it up.

3: Appearances: fair enough
The art and sound is mostly ok, although never outstanding. I wish that there were one or two characters whose design stands on their own feet instead of regurgitating tropes, but that's not really a big deal for me. (as long as the characters are well written). There are occasionally frames where the proportions of some of the characters are quite odd (mostly Yukine), but again nothing to really irritate me. Same goes for the sound. Nothing memorable, but it burbles in the background and that's ok.

Overall I'm honestly at a loss what anyone can see in the series. I'm not even complaining that it doesn't have overarching themes, deep grizzly tragedy and life changing insights. I didn't expect those. But I think it falls completely flat even as light-hearted, unthinking entertainment. And it bears the hallmarks of really, really bad writing - even within the Isekai Harem Genre. The protagonist is the chosen one who has to do all the work in the story. And he overcomes any obstacle thrown at him without difficulty. Plot armor. None of the side characters have any target of their own beyond getting into the pants of Hero Protagonist. Or when they had one, like Lashara, it gets dropped mid-story, no questions asked. None of the side characters and almost none of the antagonists are in any way competent. Meaning no feeling of being threatened and accordingly no tension. The little lore of the world we're given is of no consequence. In summary: I want to punch the author (and any financier who greenlighted this) in the face with a basics-of-storytelling-guide.
