Preliminary Spoiler
Oct 6, 2024
When the topic of “best new gen” shonen manga series gets brought up, Yozakura is often left out which is an absolute shame because having now spent the past 6 months in this world with these incredible characters, the surprisingly emotional and well written story, the great fights and seeing Taiyo’s journey from average high schooler to a proper spy, I have to say this deserves to be front and center in those conversations. If you ever wondered what Spy x Family with more action would be like, look no further than Yozakura family. This was such a joy to experience every week and I’m ...

I've been following this series since the manga was created. This is a very interesting story, about Taiyo trying to protect Mutsumi who comes from a spy family. This story about spies is very exciting and feels new among other spy series. Because not only is there action, but it also combines cool supernatural elements. Apart from that, it not only tells the story of Taiyo as a spy and Mutsumi's husband, but also about the search for a sense of security, warmth and comfort with family. This is very good and full of meaning because it teaches about the meaning of protecting each other.

This review comes to you by someone who never writes reviews and got soo annoyed while reading the reviews he felt like he has to rant-
Its good, just please stop comparing it to Spy x Family It is legit nothing like it and has nothing in common.
Just because it has to word FAMILY and it has Spies doesn't mean it has anything in common.
Its like saying that because it is an anime is romance and has school all romance school Animes will be compared to Yamada and the seven witches or it will be compared to soul eater because it has witches in it ...

Is "Mission: Yozakura Family" bad? No, not by a long shot...
Is it fun to watch? Eh, it has its moments.
Should you go out of your way to watch this instead of watching a different anime? I would say there is more entertaining anime out there.

To put plainly, this is average, nothing here is outstanding or better done when compared to any other Spy/Hitman/Assassin anime.
This show is just is moderately repetitive because its episodes always have a similar ending, that being Taiyou being tested in a random or stupid way and passing it with flying colors. This being in 4 parts, first is Taiyou being ...

Mission: Yozakura Family - A more serious, but also fun family dynamic that's a take on the Spy × Family formula, being same-same, but different.

Ever since the invent of Weekly Shonen Jump, authors have been trying to make big of their series, since it's known to many as one of the key aspects of success, but also the added pressure of them trying to keep up with Shueisha's (and other publishing companies) rigorous release for the weekly magazines themselves in Japan, because authors have a story to sell, and business can only be made if quality is ensured, mostly from the authors themselves. It's the ...

a riotous romp through the world of espionage and matrimony, where danger lurks around every corner and laughter is the best defense.

Picture this: a protagonist unwittingly agrees to tie the knot with his childhood sweetheart, only to discover that she's not just any ordinary girl—she's the heir to a family of spies, where danger is as common as morning coffee.

But fear not, dear viewer, for what ensues is a delightful blend of slapstick comedy and heartwarming romance, with a colorful cast of characters adding to the chaos. From bumbling spies to unexpected allies, each member of the ensemble brings their own unique flair to the ...

For fans of comedy-shonen series with a side of action, Mission: Yozakura Family is a remedy for the soul. It's not the perfect series; some of the over-the-top slapstick violence and comedy pushes the suspension of disbelief in places, but overall it's a fun and energy-filled series full of characters and relationship dynamics to make you smile.

Despite the first episode, this series is not a romance. It's definitely one that focuses on our MC's, Taiyo's, relationships, but that includes his relationship with everything from his new wife, Mutsumi, to his new family, to making new friends, and even his relationship with himself. It's a ...

What would happen if you took spy x family, made it 100 times more unhinged, and had a much larger and more quirky cast of characters for the family?

That's Yozakura family.

This one is an interesting one for me. I remember having a conversation with one of my friends a few years back and I asked him "what's a manga you would like to see get an anime adaptation?" and he replied with Yozakura Family. So, fast forward to Spring 2024, when I saw that this was getting an anime it immediately went on my radar and my curiosity was naturally piqued.

Taiyo Asano is a shy ...

Had to write this after seeing how Underrated the Anime was .

I hate comparing it to other Anime ( Spy X Family etc ) as i don't find any similarities between those two .

Each Character in Yozakura san Chi no Daisakusen made it really unique .

Plot:
It was a really interesting take in the Spy genre and i did find it really good . The MC Asano Taiyo loses his family in an accident and marries Mutsumi ( in the most unexpected way ) only to find out that her family is the most influential Spies . The whole story takes ...

This anime has got everything in it. Romance, action,a bit of sadness, funny moments. The start was really interesting, had a few good plot twists. Animation is really good, characters are unique the power scaling is pretty good. The main character has some funny stupid moments that made me laugh. I would recommend it for kids because its pretty family friendly. Probably one of the best starting anime to watch. It doesn't have very long fights, therre isn't super op main character. Very recommend watching it as a first anime. Its not too long, so it would be easy to catch on.

This show reminds me of the great days when I didn't have to worry about taxes, where to hide the body, tracing the holes in the wall, and ordering McD burgers without pickes only to get mountains of them after. We were growing up watching something not overly dark, lots of comedy, and a protagonist that's lovable and make you cheer with his effort first, thinking second attitude!

There's genuine progression of the MC and it makes you fantasize about becoming a spy and arming your house or apartment with 800 lethal traps. I also started to poison my own food to build up immunities!

It's a ...

Extremely mild spoilers ahead: Yozakura-san Chi no Daisakusen presents itself as a paradox—a popcorn action fantasy comedy that’s hard to pin down but is nevertheless a strangely engaging ride. The premise alone is intriguing: a spy family with supernatural skills and antics that blend with slice-of-life beats. However, it's precisely in this balancing act where the show wobbles on its axis - and I ultimately fail to recommend it (despite enjoying it).

First off, let’s get one thing straight—this is a fantasy. The spy moves here are nowhere near “natural,” no matter how the show tries to package them. We’ve got supernatural abilities that turn simple ...

What a show, in my opinion this show keeps it together and understandable even with the absurd plotline. I haven't seen an anime that made me this happy, I was smiling literally once an episode. Due to the fact that i am not much of a smiler and that i prefer depressing anime this was such a nice change of pace. The MC Taiyo was such a pleasure to watch grow and honestly so was the whole show, from the older brother Kyoichiro learning to accept Taiyo to Nanao learning to adapt. Even without my taste and feelings this show will still be such a ...

There are a lot of newer Shonen property that I have really enjoyed over the last couple of years, but this one really worked for me. The reason for the score, is mostly because of the middle stretch of episodes that I thought really drug down the pacing of this one, but I am sure that is how the manga was as well. It doesn’t change the fact that the bookends to this one are the best of the series.

The concept of the sudden marriage of these childhood friends, and the fish out of water story of a boy trying to adapt to a world ...

It's been so long since I read this part of the manga that I forgot that the first few arcs are truly some of the weakest in the entire series. Honestly this anime, like the manga, cruised at a wobbly 5/10 but then gained momentum after several episodes to become a 7/10, so I rated it 6/10 because while the first part is a bit weird and wonky to get through, it makes up for itself in the later episodes of this season once the story reaches the main antagonist of the season.

That said, the reason I marked it recommend rather than mixed feelings ...

I LOVED THIS SHOW !!!! <3

Everything was so good about this show the fact that Mutsumi loves Taiyo and cares for him in every situation and Taiyo overcomming his limits for her is so wholesome in itslef and then comes the siblings everyone got a different way of making the show more fun to watch and the Grandparents being grandparents made me feel so good to watch the show !!

Can't wait for Season 2, hopes that S2 also get a 2 cour else 12 eps for S2 will be so less this show deserves 2 cour again !

I generally don't say this but ...

It's an out and out shounen anime, featuring spies with supernatural abilities induced by mutations, and antagonists seeking to harness these powers for world domination. The standout element for me was the main character, Taiyo, whose admirable qualities kept me engaged, along with Mutsumi, who provides solid support to the protagonist.
Their dynamic bears resemblance to the themes of perseverance and emotional connection found in Naruto. However, the series abandons logical consistency, with powers and their applications lacking any scientific basis, leading to absurdly unpredictable fight scenes.
The supporting characters, despite being prominent, are rather stereotypical— sis-com, loli, shota, introvert, shut-in—which, while not inherently negative, ...

I think this anime is way better than it's current competition. I'm not talking about the best of the best but I think it's around above average. I wouldn't say after 27 episodes that this isn't worth your time or it's one of the best anime I've ever seen. If you didn't know, this anime was made by the studio "SILVER LINK." who have made notable anime like Non Non Biyori and Kokoro Connect. This studio doesn't make the worst anime but they make sure to try and at least make something out of nothing.

Yozakura-san Chi no Daisakusen or Mission of Yozakura Family is focused ...

Preliminary (3/27 eps)
It's neither here or there. It's a shounen that introduces to typical comedic relief characters in a semi-serious/episodic setting where our main character Asano protects his wife, or the head of the family in different scenarios.

Obviously, the plot is nonsensical. The fact that the setting is about spies and danger doesn't really register. That's pretty obvious, It's just a way to introduce some action in a lighthearted way, and the characters and story reflect that. Not once did the show give you expectations that spy work literally meant "spy work." However, it's so off-kilter compared to what you expect from that line of business it ...
