Seijo no Maryoku wa Bannou desu Season 2

The king of Slantania has officially appointed Sei Takanashi as the Holy Saint—an omnipotent maiden summoned from another world to save the kingdom. After months of relentless fighting against monsters, Sei can finally relax and continue her study at the Medicinal Flora Research Institute. Although her relationship with Albert Hawke, the commander of the Third Order of Knights, gradually blossoms, her bachelorette status attracts unwanted attention from other men—much to Albert's dismay.

Moreover, Tenyuu—one of the many princes from the faraway Zaidera Empire—has taken an interest in Slantania and its powerful healing potions. Given that Sei's identity is a national secret, she must lay low in the royal palace until Tenyuu satisfies his curiosity at the institute and returns to his country. Despite his unimpressive appearance, the foreign prince is far from clueless. He has come to Slantania for a clear reason, and Sei's unique skills may just hold the answer to his cryptic research.

Oh my God, after the first season I thought I had seen everything, but this anime completely surprised me. I honestly don’t understand why it has such a low score. It’s the first isekai anime where I actually see the whole story wrapped up in just two seasons, no unnecessary episodes, no filler that adds nothing to the main plot. It was simply perfect and beautiful. The ending even made me cry, because I love romance anime, and while the main premise wasn’t romantic at all, the finale had one of the most touching and beautiful romantic scenes I’ve ever seen in any anime. Everything ... felt so natural and flowed so well.

The best part of this anime is definitely the MC. Instead of giving us the typical kind and submissive “waifu” designed for male appeal, they actually gave us a protagonist who is intelligent, passionate about what she does, strong, kind, calm, and well-developed. The romantic relationship felt genuine, it was built in a way that complemented her life, which was already full with work, friends, and responsibilities. It wasn’t just forced in for fanservice, and that made it all the more special.

I absolutely loved this anime. Everything came together so well, it felt like enjoying a complete and satisfying meal. I also appreciated that it was aimed at a more mature audience, without the unnecessary sexualization of female characters that you see in most anime nowadays. Instead, we got characters with real depth and meaningful development.

I completely recommend it.

Mixed Feelings

I was so smitten with Season 1 Sei. It's so rare to have a mature alternative to the high school age MC. Is the source of her blessing magic cheesy as a concept? yeahhh of course it is but i had no trouble buying in and pushing past my cringe to let myself enjoy it anyway. I love alchemy, loved getting to know this world and the characters surrounding her, it was a solid 8 for me.

Enter season 2. I was heartbroken that this character i was so crazy about was suddenly stripped of so much of what made her awesome in S1. By the ... end of the season it's the young princess who has to confront Sei about the feelings she knows good and well she has for Hawkes and even so it doesn't help bc in the end she didn't grow or get a grip on her feelings ... Hawkes did all the work bridging the gap. She never had to extend herself in the slightest. In season 1 she was grateful and aware that they all sheltered her from palace intrigue and politics ... in season 2 she was too busy blushing and doing twisty anime fingers like a child or pouting bc she didn't want things to change, despite the trouble it was causing for those who look out for her. Thank goodness for the Princess ... at least there was one grownup in the room ... i dunno... S2 was a real disappointment to such a strong first season.

S2 is not nearly as good as S1 ... i really enjoyed the art, character design, voice acting, and characters i really enjoyed seeing again so yes i'm still rating it a 6, but it's a "Mixed Feelings" 6. I'm not trying to dog on it, mostly i'm just venting my frustrations with the deterioration of what was a compassionate, strong, brave, beautiful and mature character for me and a real hit on the overall story telling and world building goodness that S1 delivered.

S1 was okay but this one is so dragged! The love story doesn't make you flutter it just makes you feel 'oh come on get over with it' vibes. The MC is so shy & naive even though she goes from modern day Japan, is 20 y.o. & worked for corporate. She gives too pure vibes which sucks after a while. The adventure & action part is okay okay. Animation is good surprisingly. Op & ED are not great either; they are same as what you hear in other anime. I hope such anime don't get S2 or 3 because there are so many anime ... out there worth spending money on. Character development is zero here with same boring dialogues. Everything is predictable here. The ending scene is very beautiful though with a song. Also, the MC voice becomes very weird in S2 as she uses those moaning type sounds more even though there are no such scenes (so I had to watch with headphones). Here voice was fine in S1.
