Fantasy Bishoujo Juniku Ojisan to

Since their days as students, Tsukasa Jinguuji has had incredible luck with women due to his good looks; Hinata Tachibana has had almost none, overshadowed by Jinguuji's brilliance. However, while Jinguuji has never shown interest in the opposite sex, Tachibana is always desperate for a girlfriend. Despite their polar differences, they continue to be best friends even in their thirties as salarymen.

One night, the two are returning home from a mixer where Jinguuji was the center of attention as usual. In his drunken rambles, a frustrated Tachibana inadvertently wishes to become a beautiful girl with irresistible charm. As if the heavens were listening, a goddess suddenly shows herself before Jinguuji and Tachibana, transporting them to another world to defeat the Demon Lord and simultaneously granting Tachibana's desire.

Tachibana—now in the body of an impossibly perfect woman—has become so attractive that even Jinguuji is captivated. Moreover, Tachibana grows aware of Jinguuji's stunning appearance, finally understanding his popularity. Before they fall in love with each other, the duo must complete their mission or risk remaining prisoners to their infatuations forever.

Story
The premise is straightforward: You and your best friend get transported to a fantasy world, but the catch is that your friend is magically transformed into a stunningly hot woman. Because of this "curse," you both gradually become attracted to each other as you progress. This central concept drives the plot, and it’s genuinely funny. There are several other amusing running gags in the anime, but I won't spoil those for you. While the initial concept is interesting and there are funny moments scattered throughout, I felt the season finale fell flat. That specific disappointment is the main reason I landed on a 6/10 score ... instead of a 7.

Art Style
The style is simple but good. The art, animations, and special effects aren't groundbreaking or incredibly flashy, but they are certainly decent. For this type of story, that level of quality is perfectly adequate.

Conclusion
If you are specifically looking for a comedy anime, this one might be worth your time. Of course, there are a few slightly cringe-worthy scenes, but compared to other titles in the genre, the amount is surprisingly low. I feel it’s worth giving the series at least three episodes to see if you enjoy the dynamic.

Mixed Feelings

A show carried by its main characters and the fun conceit - what if your best friend was the cutest girl in the world? It's a little awkward at times but is mostly very charming, especially due to the acting of the two main characters (I watched in English). Fun fact, Tachibana is voiced by a romantic couple which I think has only happened before in Pop Team Epic. It's a fun friendship/romance/???? angle that you don't see much in standard anime!

This is only my second Isekai and it is not a genre I care about typically - that is still the case here. The ... most dull parts of this show are the weird RPG elements that make no sense given they weren't sucked into a game or something, the literal NPCs having no personality, and the played-out fantasyland world. Extremely shoehorned and would be better without them imo! If it's supposed to be a parody then it should maybe have those elements be actually humorous!

Animation was fun enough, though I didn't care for the songs in the OP or ED.

Worth a watch for the interesting main characters & fun central idea, but the rest is pretty mediocre!

Like many anime, this one starts off fairly well, I’d even say the first scene is actually good. But the following scenes are bland and forgettable, and by the halfway point it becomes clear what this show really is. There’s a scene where the protagonists completely ignore a girl who has been enslaved, someone they could easily help, but they don’t even acknowledge her. It looks incredibly strange. Even stranger, in the following episodes they walk around with the very slaver who captured and sold that girl, and as it turns out, he knew the men who bought her planned to kill her. Yet our ... so-called heroes ignore this completely.

At this point, something becomes clear that wasn’t obvious at first: the protagonists have lost all compassion and any sense of decency. After that, any sympathy for them vanishes, and that’s not even the worst part.

As the show continues, it shifts tone and becomes increasingly nonsensical and illogical. For example, there’s a scene where a person is tied up and struggling to escape, but seconds later easily breaks the ropes, like it’s supposed to be a joke. This kind of thing happens multiple times. The characters often act like something important didn’t just happen, even if it occurred literally a moment ago. Watching all this is extremely frustrating, as if the creator stopped caring entirely.

I also want to add that the way slavery is portrayed here is not just unpleasant, but outright unacceptable. There are actual laws that prohibit depicting slavery in this kind of way. It’s literally illegal in some places. But since it’s "just anime", it somehow slipped under the radar, even though it’s available on the Western platform Crunchyroll. It’s also surprising that this aired on TV Tokyo, since they used to have higher standards.

In short, I fully support those laws and believe that anime promoting indifference to serious issues like slavery is harmful. The fact that lot's of people on this site seems to have ignored this only proves my point. I don’t want this kind of apathy, as we clearly see on this platform, becoming the norm in our culture.
