Synopsis

As the Chosen Children and their partner Digimon live happily together in the human world, Taichi Yagami and Yamato Ishida, alongside their friends, dedicate themselves to maintaining this hard-earned peace. Though united by this innate responsibility, each one has already started to take their first steps toward a future beyond being a Chosen Child.

However, this new journey is interrupted by the appearance of Menoa Bellucci, an American professor specializing in Digimon research. She bears news of several Chosen Children from around the world being found comatose, with their partner Digimon nowhere to be found. Menoa's investigations indicate that a new breed of Digimon is behind the alarming phenomenon: Eosmon, who hides within the internet's depths.

To succeed in this mission, the team must endeavor through the growing distance between them and band together one last time.

Well, well, well, it seems we have ourselves a nostalgia trip with the latest installment of Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna. Now, I don't know about you, but I remember spending many an hour as a young lad watching the original Digimon series. And while this latest movie may not quite live up to the same standards as its predecessor, it's still a solid addition to the franchise.

The story follows Tai and his Digimon partner, Agumon, as they face their greatest challenge yet - the loss of their bond as Tai grows older. Along the way, they're joined by their ... old friends and their own Digimon partners, as they try to unravel the mystery behind a new threat to both the human and digital worlds.

While the animation and visuals are top-notch, the pacing can feel a bit slow at times, and some of the character development feels a bit rushed. But overall, Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna is a heartfelt tribute to the series that captured the hearts of many a child in the '90s.

Well, isn't this just a trip down memory lane with its lovable characters and epic battles? It's almost enough to make me want to dust off my old Digivice and join in on the fun.

Overall, I'd give this anime a solid 8/10. While it may not quite live up to the same standards as the original series, it's still a worthy addition to the franchise and a must-watch for any Digimon fan.

Baiklah, baiklah, sepertinya kita memiliki perjalanan nostalgia dengan seri terbaru Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna. Sekarang, saya tidak tahu tentang kamu, tapi saya ingat menghabiskan banyak waktu sebagai seorang anak laki-laki menonton seri Digimon asli. Dan meskipun film terbaru ini mungkin tidak cukup memenuhi standar yang sama dengan pendahulunya, itu masih merupakan tambahan yang solid untuk waralaba ini.

Kisah ini mengikuti Tai dan pasangan Digimon-nya, Agumon, saat mereka menghadapi tantangan terbesar mereka - kehilangan ikatan mereka saat Tai tumbuh dewasa. Di sepanjang jalan, mereka bergabung dengan teman-teman lama mereka dan pasangan Digimon mereka sendiri, saat mereka mencoba mengungkap misteri di balik ancaman baru untuk dunia manusia dan digital.

Meskipun animasi dan visualnya sangat baik, tempo ceritanya terkadang terasa lambat dan beberapa pengembangan karakter terasa sedikit terburu-buru. Namun secara keseluruhan, Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna adalah penghormatan tulus untuk seri yang menawan hati banyak anak pada tahun 90an.

Well, apakah ini hanya perjalanan ke kenangan masa lalu dengan karakter yang menyenangkan dan pertempuran epik? Hampir cukup membuat saya ingin mengeluarkan Digivice lama saya dan bergabung dalam kesenangan ini.

Secara keseluruhan, saya akan memberikan nilai 8/10 untuk anime ini. Meskipun mungkin tidak cukup memenuhi standar yang sama dengan seri aslinya, itu masih merupakan tambahan yang pantas untuk waralaba dan harus ditonton oleh setiap penggemar Digimon.

Mixed Feelings

This review its gonna cover digimon tri as a whole starting from firts one saikai to this one , to resume the experience overall and actually my opnion about it. I dont gonna expand too much but rather just an brief resume pointing out the good and bad things that i encountered along the series and the movie.

I think that those who grow up with this series like me couldnt be more happy when we hear an continuation for tai and all the group, just by watching the firts episode those chills and feeling of nostalgia invade us after so much long time without see ... them.
Now the way that picks up this season its pretty nice and in general i couldnt complain, the thing is that there were more than just one or two things that in more or less degree actually were wasted or just off. One of the things that i often find in many animes its the duration and im refering to the amount of episodes or time that some movies have, tri was released in a format of movies with an medium of around hour an half so inside that time it had to be crampted everything that they were wanting to encompass in each respective movie, the problem here almost always is that just feels rushed, bad narrated or just wasnt well covered (i gonna go a little more in detail about in what aspect especificly later) and tri wasnt the exception to the rule here.
The firts mistake was to make it an series of movie instead of an actual series, and why i say that?? you would ask, its just one of the main reason (if not the main one) to the most important points that ended up kinda dissapointing.

Digimon tri present us the dilemas and problems that each one of the cast deal with, now grown up the themes are more serious or adults per say in a way and not so much simple like in the firts season , in this aspect i love how respecting each character´s personality and overall essence of them, the problems that struggle with molded perfectly without betraying anything that so far until now we have seen in previous seasons.
Until here everything sounds good, but one of the big problem and its due as i said above the constriction of time having chosen this movie format as lead to an really poor and rushed development for most of the characters (which make me infuriating given how well thought out the root of their conflicts were) , tai its one of the most perfect examples here where its almost the only character that we see since the firts movie progressively in one way o another tring to solve his conflicts in a gradually and organic way and their climax its reached in the last course (sure you could discuss that is because is the main protagonist which doesnt excuse the fact of how bad was handled the rest of the cast) it doesnt get solve just in an hour an half like almost every single other characters.
This to me is a big disappointment i love tai in this season but the rest of the children didtn get the same trait , so much interesting ideas and situations that just to fit each movie was wasted, this should have been an series of 50 episodes.

The design of the characters it wasnt my coup of tea it might variates from person but to me was alright, even so could be better to beign honest, animation wise was alright also nothing that was outanding neither, the ost i think i leaving some classics songs like butterfly didnt really stick out like the old ones.
There is an new character that was introduced called Meiko Mochizuki in few words its just an mere excuse ( and a bad one) to the following evetns that takes places for the main story, meiko to me was an mehh character really plane, uninteresting and indiferent one in comparision with the other children and didnt gave me any kind of attachment or feeling like invested in her in any way, i appreciate the intention but it could be nice something a little less archetyped and generic and rather a little more interesting and relevanting than this girl, which in the end maked me really dont care too much about her as i got closer to the end and therefore the story that its going unfolding sometimes in the back and anothers more present just lose all his importance because many of it revolves around meiko who just doesnt make any justice the character itselft to have such an importan tol being in the center of the events.

RESUME

This in a whole was an nice try to the old fans and newers to get to see more about tai and the group but even if it has so much nice ideas and the intention many times is there , was wasted so much that leaving aside the nostalgia tri could be so much more if some decisions were taken different. I love the franchise of digimon and i have seen so many of the series, i could enjoy tri but also leave me an sour taste when i finished for the aformentioned things above. I could reccomend it, was ok but one of the main problem is the format it should have end up like an anime series of 50 episodes like the old one and just that could have fixed so many things.

Saying Digimon Adventure Movie: Last Evolution Kizuna is bad is putting it nicely. Considering all the weird things that happened with Adventure lately with the addition of the Tri movies, it creates a bunch of movies if those "Movies" or "Specials" are counted as canon to this movie as many things are unexplained like why Genai is a good guy all the sudden.

This movie also seems not to know what exactly it wants as it seems like a love letter at first going as far as showing the 02 kids and giving hints to their dreams that were shown at the end of Digimon Adventure ... 2002. But then introduces the concept of Digimon disappearing once the kids become "mature?". It isn't really clear but your partner disappears and that suppose to be the emotional conflict of the story with the main antagonist wanting to let the Chosen Children live forever in their small bubble being always together with their Digimon.
However, the story conflicts with the final goodbye at the end of Digimon Adventure 99 where that concept was explored and the children back then accepted that they won't see their Digimon ever again. So Kizuna feels more like a Digimon Teenage Midlife crisis if anything. The writers probably think they were clever by doing that and handled it god awful.

The movie also shows the kids as Digimon capture police solving issues as a secondary job so to say. Ironically they are so bad at it that they look far more incompetent than they did back when they were a kid. The amount of property damage and how they barely managed to save people from just 1 Digimon is almost comical. And the fact they have to go through all the trouble to open a Digital Gate to bring that 1 Digimon back is far more tedious than the options they had back in 02 where they could easily open a portal with a laptop anywhere and any time. No need to have some stupid countdown to drag out the fight.

The fight in the movie, at least in the early part, was beautiful. Really well animated including the evolution animations and themes. The animation and artstyle are really beautiful, but it just doesn't feel like the Digimon Adventure artstyle but like a generic anime you have seen a billion of times.

Toei being Toei also nostalgia baited the hell out of this movie with Greymon vs Parrotmon, something referencing the best Digimon Movie Our War Game and god knows what else.

If you like pretty colors and need a Digimon Adventure fix, you may like this movie. It has also a hot waifu material if you are in such things. But if you want something with depth that doesn't feel hallow similar to how Tri, you won't get it in this movie. It can't even keep up with Adventure 02's quality. And fails with its message of "growing up" as it feels more like "Stop watching Digimon and get a life" if anything.
