One Room: Second Season

One Room is the second wave in Japan's 3D women related propaganda and promoting anime. The first wave offered us a series called Oshiete! Galko-chan (Please tell me, galgo-chan) which focused on implementing 3D related biological factors onto anime girls among other things. These could vary from periods and periodic pains to personal passions related to more "dude-like" hobbies to promote common interests among different genders. The second wave gives us One Room, series which promotes dating and encourages its viewers to get engaged to a real woman ASAP. All of this in the name of getting the Japan youth ... and young adult males once again interested in real women and casting a positive effect on Japan's birth rate which is the nro 1 reason why these series are even made.

But let me ask you, the government of Japan: What type of a casual noob do you take me for? I fall in love with new animu waifus on a daily basis, sometimes even on an episodic speed. I have no time for relationships or long term commitment. "Girlfriend simulator." I don't want that. Who wants that? Why would anyone want that? I get tired of women in a week. Two tops. Sometimes in a day. Often few seconds after they open their mouth. This anime is blasphemy towards everything I hold sacred and dear. There is no way any genuine weeb could appreciate such thing -- let alone change his mind. Awful. Just awful.

Let's face it, no one needed this season or the first season. Memeing about how this is the most perfect thing in existence was fun for approximately 3 seconds, much like the anime. Otherwise this is just depressing.

The art is great at least. I really like the 1st person camera (this is a 1st person anime, if not clear yet), especially the scenes where I was checking out anime girls tits and butts are a form of honesty. The biggest problem is that there is no hentai series available that does this thing so all this really is is a wasted idea. Really wish I'd have gotten some. Otherwise the production values are awe and visually pleasing.

One Room does offer very realistic picture of how relationships work, but it is all give and no get. It tries to promote women, yet shows how much effort it all requires. The main romance development goes pretty much like this:

Girl: wanna hang out?
me: sure
Girl: wanna go the bath house with me
me: well, maybe this once
Girl: can you help me to study?
me: ugh... again.. i guess.. this pretty cliche tho
Girl *rings the door bell*
me: God fucking damnit, woman! How much attention do you need!? Give me some room!

Her unrequited love for me is real pain to deal with. Real pain. Yet, no sexy time occurred so I literally couldn't change my mind. She deserves someone who loves her back. By her deserving, I mean I deserve someone to take her away. It's mean, but it's necessary. This anime is quite immersive as I found myself trying to turn her down several times, but she just won't give up. So persistent and annoying. Less talk, more naked. That's how you win man's heart. If this is truly the best Japan can do to promote 3D, then a failure is what we have at hand.

The girls are kinda nice otherwise. By nice, I mean it's great how each girl has approximately 6 minutes of screen time because they all end up turning boring already within it. Little sister the best girl, btw, because she gave me a back massage. Back massages are nice. Don't ask to get, ask to give. That's how you get them points. *smart girl* She will go to places.

I highly appreciate the other recent 1st person anime, Iya na Kao sare nagara Opantsu Misete Moraitai or "I Want You To Make a Disgusted Face and Show Me Your Underwear" in English. The title pretty much sums it up. Genuine take on human desires and lust, few minutes was enough to show how people just want to bang. I fail to see any reasons to appreciate One Room. Unless 3rd season delivers some lewd, in which case this is actually the best anime I have ever seen. As it is now, starting to date some girl you have known for 6 minutes is not exactly my thing. I guess someone has fetishes like that, but mine aren't this boring, and therefore I proceed give this anime a one because I already have a room. *with the voice of videogamedunkey* I will be remembered for my wits.

The protagonist is a literal insert bank you can feel like you really are a part of the story, he doesn’t even have a voice. This show was Clearly it was made for truly enlightened individuals, so they can experience what it's like to have a 5-year-old ask you maths questions that you still don’t know the answer to.

one of the greatest features of this show is the constant police sirens you will hear outside your house shortly after beginning each episode. Word of advice plead the 5th, If they don’t charge you for your crimes within 15 minutes your legally allowed to leave.

but in ... all seriousness the animation is great and very detailed, despite being a short the quality never falters and with a heart-warming story and great character development every episode I’d have to say that this is a great show. The only downside I can say about it is that you have to kind of half guess the main character's lines and intentions as he is a literal insert blank but apart from that this is a genuinely great show that I highly recommend.

One Room is back as a 2nd season and now it's over, so, as usual we the audience were the main character where we have to follow the life of 3 specifice girls and as usual we give them a good ending. Nevertheless, the story plot of having us audience play the main character to them girls was something else, I what I like most was the Hanasaki Yui Arc, where we the audience marries the girl and as it starts from episodes 1 to 4 we see the character and romance development that occurs between us audience and Hanasaki Yui, but when it ... come to Nanahashi Minori arc things were a bit vague as to how it ends, cu'z only her arc was an open ending, and about the Amasuki Masihiro arc, well I kinda hate the her arc was this mild tsundere thing where we audience are called 'Perverts" and that kinda hurts me, but since we audience have no control of it, it was something that we can let slide. Now artwise there wasn't any of the strong lewd fanservice around, only a Hanasaki swimsuit service and also none of any of that quintessential zettai ryoki thing. On the character category, it was nice that the next 2 arcs after Hanasaki's arc were different, they didn't went back to the usual arce from season 1, which kinda make this enjoyable since their the VA's who did the girl's voice did have some of that sweet tone that pleases the ears, so without further adieu I hereby presnt my ratings:

Story-Very Good 8: Since studio Zero-G did come up with something that involves us audience.

Art- fair 6: None of any lewd fanservices just a couple of suggestive images that weren't enough to constitute any lusty desires.

Sound- Good 7: The VA's may have delivered us some sweet tone of the character's monologue which is good, but when it comes to the last arc, I kinda feel hurt being called a Pervert.....oh , that was for us audience.

Character-Good 7: I may want to give this an 8, but having a mild tsundere around was a tiny turn off, but then again , it not bad.

Enjoyment-Good 7: Well, it was worth enjoying, in some ways, but I rather not go to any details.

Overall-Very Good 8: Kudos to studio Zero-G and producer Smiral Animation.

why is this show back? i didnt ask for this, but i'm not complaining. One Room (now occurring in Three rooms) is back with a bang.

Story- same as ever, you're a Japanese bloke living life surrounded by cute girls, this time none blood related. You help with their issues and ultimately garner their romantic interest. Basically an animated VN with 3 completely different routes tbh.

Art- looked as clean as S1, Zero-G did a good job continuing Typhoon Graphics solid work. Having consumed every zero-g anime that exists i can safely say this one is visually one of their best.

Sound- the ED's switch with every girl ... as per, with only the 3rd ed really being anything worth noting. Some solid voice actors including minase iori made it a good season soundwise.

Characters- what we watch the show for, a variety of girls to pique your interest and suit your desires. lets run through them real quick

Hanasaka Yui- Arguably best girl from last season makes a return as a (s1 spoilers) proper uni student, but thats not all. You're in a relationship with this girl now, madness i know. This arc goes through the complications one can assume occurs in relationships when there is no communication (cause we never speak) and desiring different things at different times. Overall a nice arc giving closure to Yui's story from S1

Nanahashi Minori- once Yui's story ends we travel to another world line steins gate style and have a new room in a hotel/onsen type establishment, run by the grandfather of our next girl. Minori is a younger teen who just doesnt know what she wants to do with life. She wants to take over the onsen but her sexist grandfather wont let her, so whatever can she do? get married to you and you take over? watch and find out. Probably the worst girl across both seasons ngl, but still bearable.

Mashiro Amatsuki- the air-headed ex gymnast whos a bit of an idiot. We travel world lines again and end up in a snazzy apartment building living a lift journey away from Mashiro Amatsuki. We dont do ourselves much good here taking pictures of her in the street without consent, earning the name hentai-san from the get go. However as time moves on and we grow closer to her, the subtle changes in vocabulary are clear as we assist her in getting a job and help her with her fuse box and maybe a love love end can occur? probably the most Fun arc of the one room franchise thus far.

You- gotta admit we're a bit less of a prick this season, so good job us. However we still have degenerate eyes, too many camera angles looking at our one room girls body rather than paying attention to her important words. Despite this, we were very dependable and often saved the day, so its excused.

Enjoyment- 10

Overall- a solid entry in the one room franchise, much preferred to S1. This franchise has the potential to keep going forever in a yami shibai kinda way, so many types of girls to pick from and various ages yet to be exploited. Given the fact this show also has a VR game and various other merchandise, I dont think this is the last we'll see of one room. Therefore i look forward to the potential future yandere, onee san and sensei types to come and enter our One Room.

AAhh... I remember when i was found this anime information for the first time, i just like "4 minutes lenght? it cant even fill my emptiness", BUT1!1!1! After i watch the first 4 episode, she was fill my emptiness that time.

Lets skip the chit chat and lets begin the Review.

This anime had a very good plot and had very different style of romance with it FIRST PERSON NARRATIVE. So, if you guys looking for the mc guy like "WHERE IS THAT LUCKY BASTARD?" You wrong. YOU are the MC in this anime. If this anime had more duration and the MC show up ... from the beginning, it will be best ROMANCE anime by me.

The ending song was always great and it will be change every 4 episodes and the singer will change too. Nothing change since the first episode of first season.

The character are perfect. I mean perfect is perfect with their role, like childhood friends chara, tsundere imouto chara and stuff like that. And their VA suited with the character, and their had a perfect BODY.

I enjoyed this anime so MUCH.... i cant bored even i re-watched the first season or even the currently airing one for many times. When i got bored or i was got pissed or another situation, i would rewatch the first season to the recently one, as elixir.

This anime should be a GALGE instead an anime with 4 minutes lenght, if the anime was a promotion of the game then i will support it at my best.

Good news First.!! For now and on, One room would get its own VR Project.
And more 2 heroines on anime with famous VA like taka8 rie and Inase Minori.

Season 1 didn’t need to exist. Season 2 without a doubt also didn’t need to exist. My faith in anime ends once Season 3 is announced.
OneRoom S2 continues the trend of creepy Point of View storytelling with awkward camera angles that don’t make any sense as a POV anime. POV isn’t my cup of tea, but at the very least the anime can commit to it. It sacrifices its POV shtick for creepy camera shots of these characters. All it does is make you feel uncomfortable, overly awkward, and a douche as an insert character. OneRoom really wants it’s viewers to imagine themselves as the ... main character. This works in things like RPGs where you make your own character and all, but not something like this where the camera (Where you as a character are looking at) keeps jumping all over the damn place. It’s inconsistent and breaks whatever immersion you somehow manage to have while watching it (Which 100% of the time is usually none whatsoever.) If the characters weren’t always designed to look like FBI bait, it’d be easier to sit through. I do *kinda* like the fact that the first arc focused on a girl from the previous season though, as it presented a chance for actual plot development. However, it was just more of the same. The other arcs were also uneventful, vague in what it wanted to do as a story, and ultimately felt like a waste of time. You won’t care about who any of these girls are and will forget them basically after each episode. The animation certainly looked good, but that’s really the only thing worth praising. After thinking about it, it might be worse than Season 1 purely due to the fact that it’s not as fun to make fun of. It was too dull and boring to really talk shit about. Like season one, OneRoom S2 doesn’t work as a romance, doesn’t work as a slice of life, doesn’t work as a POV production, and doesn’t work in general. Keep this series dead. Let it die. Let it fade into obscurity. It’s for the best. No one will miss it.

I honestly can't enjoy this show. I am still watching it because the episodes are so short that it is bearable. The way this show is made makes me feel sad watching it. The first season was okay because this style of first person was unique but it really did not need another season.

At this point I feel like I am only watching to punish myself for allowing myself to start this knowing full well that it would be the same if not worse than the first one.

If you liked the first season then you will probably like this. If you haven't ... seen the first season then don't watch it.

Art: 7/10
The art was clean and crisp. There was a good amount of detail in the characters, environment, and extras. Anatomy and proportions checked out too. The service shots were also nice looking and weren't pandering *too* much. What am I kidding myself, every chance they got they would pander lol. Overall, art was nice, service shots looked good, and general visuals were pretty.

Animation: 6/10
Not much movements so animation was mostly at a minimum. Standard shortcuts like stagnate poses, minimal motion, and few mouth movements. Animation generally was fine and mostly average for a short show like ... this.

Characters: 4/10
None of the characters were memorable, interesting, or appealing outside of their service shots. Character designs weren't impressive or memorable and were mostly based on accentuating their features.

Plot: 5/10
A standard self-insert setup; nothing more, nothing less.

Development: 4/10
All interactions based on assumptions on what the viewer would say. Sort of assumes the viewer is of a certain type of nature or personality; fails when the viewer doesn't think of what they supposed you're thinking. Ultimately creates a lot of disconnect with the audience which is a big minus. Flow is pretty much a ride in itself. All interactions are forced onto the viewer mostly as an observer. I didn't feel like I was into any of the girls because of how bland they were.

Music: 5/10
No sound design. Soundboard not noticeable. Music unmemorable and generic. ED was meh.

Conclusion: 5/10
Did a decent job at giving each of the girls some backstory and depth. Best one would probably be the girl who couldn't get a job. Answered most of the questions that needed to be answered and always left off on an open-ended conclusion regarding the viewers relationship with the girls.

Overall: 5/10
It wasn't bad, but it was very much so an attempt at a self-insert cash grab in my opinion. What was it promoting? Do people actually buy into this type of thing? I'm sure there are. I just feel that this sort of genre is low-effort.

Would honestly say it's better than the first one. Still really awkward to watch at points. But still better than the first season. But how is the rest of it?

The art style, and the music are once again great, even if the show lasts a few mins per ep, it's still detailed very well in that department. Which is not only great to see, but also great to listen too as well. Props go to the anime for that.

As for the story itself, while the camera angles are too awkward and weird as much as the first one was. It's still a sweet story, despite ... some little gripes here and there.
