Both are excellent shows that incorporate several main themes such as butteflies and the human condition with maturity behind a deceptive outer appearance.

They're both mystery shows that have someone who is gifted in solving mysteries and isn't disturbed by the crime, and has sort of sidekick that is. They both have mysterious masterminds and butterfly theme.

If you're looking for mysteries of unsolved murders, then these series are perfect for you! Strange murders are happening on school grounds and the protagonists need to do whatever it takes to catch the murderers before something happen.

Both are crime shows that deal with a level of artistry. However Ranpo Kidan stars a cast of minors whereas Psycho pass's main characters are adults.

it's from most of the crew of assassination classroom, features a male main character that looks and sounds like a girl, and features a dark story revolving murder and a thread to mankind in a school setting.

- psychologically messed up main character who is being accused of murder, but on the outside looks like a good person, very intelligent and observative - prodigy detective trying to solve the case - murder, violence, gore

The protagonist Shinichi Kudō, chooses the pseudonym "Conan Edogawa" taking parts of the names of the detective novelists Arthur Conan Doyle and Edogawa Ranpo. And Ranpo Kitan is inspired by the works of author Edogawa Ranpo. Therefore, both are mysteries and detectives anime.

both have mystery suspense plots, with similar art style, and humor. it could be argued that that character roles are reversed which give this anime a little bit of stand offish- ness to some audiences, but is actually a pretty minor part of the story. the ages of the characters is similar too, but in a younger form.

Both are detective shows based on Edogawa Rampo's literary works. In both shows, the detective Kobayashi gets recruited to do detective work as his way of living. The biggest difference is that Trickster is more action-oriented while Rampo Kitan is more mystery-oriented.

Murder/Detective Themed Both shows have detective elements, as well as overaverage intelligent main characters working to solve crimes. They both put up some rare gags (Subete Ga F Ni Naru even less!). The difference is that Game of Laplace has no real "Romance Story" and Subete ga F ni Naru is very secluded and only affects a small number of people, while the other title goes on a deep social level towards the end.

They're both detective shows with goofy moments as well as a lot of dark ones. Akechi is fairly similar to Hamatora's protag, Nice; thought other than Nice there's not any character I can think of too alike the characters in Ranpo (Art could arguably be the counter role of Namikoshi). I think the color styles are pretty much the same too if that's something.

- setting with a mystery/mysteries that need to be solved - both use gore and violence, trying to add a shock factor but eventually end up being comedic

-The MC looks / sounds / ''resembles'' a girl, but is really a boy. -Both anime are about Murder and Mystery -The cases are, by the children (MCs), as 'games'. - Games that are fun in a different, twisted sick way where you look at murder, gore and violence to satisfy your want for fun!.

Both series contain mystery, drama and suspense. More than that is carried out by two school boys, who are involved in cases of crimes, which are always around them. They will solve those mysteries, as they will feel that they must, since they have been involved. One of the protagonists feels a certain attachment to the other, protecting him from everything, even though he is the most interested in these mysteries. Both with a supernatural air, showing us the worst that can reach the human being when he is on the verge of madness, only when wanting to do his purpose without to care the lives of  read more

both about detective agencies, both have dark senses of humor in regards to humanity and life. bungou is a little more upbeat and has a bit slower pace than ranpo kitan, but ranpo has a more satisfying ending.

Both animes are highly underrated; they have both a wonderful, mysterious feeling and unique storylines which give you chills. When you enjoy mystery, psychotic cases and genius in every detail go for it!

Mysterious and gruesome murders keep on happening while the culprit is still on the loose! It is up to the protagonists in both series to solve the cases before it's too late.

If Game of Laplace disappointed you, UN-GO is another series that transfer classic Japanese crime writing to a modern/sci-fi setting, and actually provided some strong mysteries with intriguing situations. We even have another cute kid assistant!
report Recommended by Ghostfriendly
Both have quirky detectives, wacky recurring characters, cute trap assistants and bizarre crimes. Main difference is that Ranpo Kitan is serious with its mysteries and crimes, unlike Cuticle Tantei Inaba which is 100% gag and parody.

A high school student gets involved in solving bizarre mysteries. They are partnered with a very eccentric person who has a mysterious past. She solves mysteries in order to uncover her past.

scruffy eccentric brilliant detective in both, although in Ranpo Kitan he plays a secondary role to an even more eccentric trap teenager Kobayashi both have episodic criminal cases/mysterious incidents solving Kamonohashi Ron is quite a realistic show compared to Ranpo Kitan's abstract and bizarre cases, characters and sometimes also animation

- Both based on works by literary masters of detective mysteries. Edogawa and Conan Doyle. - Both deal with mature themes like mysteries and crime. - Both are mysterious and creates an atmosphere that really draws you in. - Both are full of humour; the characters are very witty and mysterious. - Both have segments of tasteful 3D graphics and other mysterious computer generated goodness. - Both contain character that will evoke 'feels', and the mysterious desire to 'ship' them until 'you can't even'. - Both are very colourful and perfect for viewing with family, friend, relatives, and anyone who likes mysteries and solving them.

Both protagonists in each show are searching for the main antagonists who are causing great chaos in society, hoping to change it. Both antagonists have tragic pasts that cause them to take the actions they are taking now. Both of them are also camouflaged in the midst of the population and is hard to detect unless they come forward themselves. Of course, if you haven't watched the first season of Psycho Pass, I suggest you go watch that first (that is a given haha XD)

Mystery shows that digs into the crime solving system. The atmosphere and feeling is extremely similar in both shows, with a group of guys with different occupations but interested in the same topic. However, Mouryou no Hako has more mature characters and lots of psychological themes around. Psychotic murderers and brilliant detectives in both shows as well.
report Recommended by Heiize
Both have similar dark themes, Ranpo Kitan: Game of Lapace is more about solving murders but they have similar vibes.
report Recommended by Nezumi-Chibi
There's lots of symbolism in both shows; you really get the Madoka vibes from Ranpo Kitan. Boths shows are also very colourful, but Madoka is a better show if one were to compare writing and characters.
